The Final Reflection - Part One

Posted on Sat Mar 21st, 2020 @ 8:40am by Commander Tienn Iteela & Director Tienn Gyce

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard / USS Cassini
Timeline: 1130Hrs - September 20th, 2393

The hour had come and now the bell had tolled its last as Commander Tienn Iteela slowly moved towards the airlock where the USS Cassini was presently moored at, she had disembarked the Starbase ten minutes beforehand and then had beamed over to this massive docking scaffold which was where the Cassini was tied up while her crew enjoyed a weeks leave time while the ship underwent checks due to her engine plant trials.

Tienn Gyce walked beside her spouse, both moved in silence as there was really nothing left to say and Iteela did not rush to ruin the moment by saying something stupid, Gyce respected her spouse's choices on the matters before them and this reflected on how the two of them had spent the morning together. Gyce had decided to take the day off to tend to matters. They had taken the children to daycare as if this was a normal day but Iteela and Gyce had come home and then the two spent two hours together, much of that was sharing a bath together and some of that was simply having sex.

Then when the time had come, the two had departed the Tienn Homestead and headed up to the Starbase and now they were about to say their last goodbyes, now that the two were approaching the airlock. Iteela turned to her spouse as the shared a quick hug. "Take of things for me, will ya?" Iteela asked of her spouse.

"I will," Gyce answered with a quiet sigh of resignation, she knew the two were going to be parted, what she did not know was how long for, but also it would be longer than either one of them could have imagined. The two women shared one last kiss before they separated and Iteela walked over to the airlock security post while Gyce stood in silence and watched her spouse walk on. Iteela nodded to the two men at the checkpoint. "Hello, I'm Commander Tienn Iteela. Permission to go aboard.?" she inquired in what she hoped was something of a gentle tone of voice. In her heart, however, she knew she had failed.

"Ahh, good morning Commander. Captain Wayne is waiting for you. Let me call him for you." the Ensign commented, as he went about doing exactly that.

"He is?" Tienn paused. "Fair enough." as she glanced back towards her spouse as she caught sight of Gyce entering a nearby turbolift and was gone, she sighed softly as a second male voice addressed her, she turned to find herself face to face with her new commanding officer. "Hello, sir."

"Parted from family and he or she came with you to see you off?" Wayne inquired, a gentle smile on his lips.

"Yessir. I will miss her." Tienn answered evenly.

"Thank you for the delay Commander, you are good to go." the Ensign interrupted.

"Fair enough, I do understand," Wayne answered with a smile. "Shall we go aboard Commander?"

"Yessir." the tall Bajoran answered evenly as she walked alongside Captain Wayne through the airlock and onto the USS Cassini. "Permission to come aboard?" Tienn inquired. Wayne stepped off to one side and opted to say nothing, he wished to see if she followed the rules.

"Granted." the Ensign at the security checkpoint answered as she produced her PADD for his inspection. The Ensign accepted her PADD as he gave it then her the once over. "Welcome aboard Commander." as he handed her the PADD back.

"Thank you." and with that Wayne stepped over. "Thaks gents."

"Your welcome skipper." and with that, Wayne and Tienn moved off down the hallway together.n "Let's go get you settled in." Wayne commented evenly.

Tienn nodded as she smiled. "Thank you, Captain... So now that we're alone, why don't we cut to why you wanted to take me aside so you could tell me something quietly.?" Tienn regarded him with her eyes. "I know its not something to do with me."

"I was told that you were good." Wayne paused. "We have a little situation brewing and I wanted to inform you that this ship's crew are having an issue with Commodore Kimora Reeves, she might start demanding that you do a lot of work with little time to do it, I've been trying to keep a lid on it but it's getting to be too much for the ship's crew to deal with," Wayne explained. "Another stunt like the one she pulled earlier this week and I will ask Admiral Armstrong to remove her... Half my senior staff wants to outright kill her and the rest are really angry with her."

Of all the things that Tienn had been expecting him to tell her, this wasn't among any of them. "Are things that bad?" the Bajoran sounded more confused and resigned than anything else.

"Yes, I wanted you to be aware of the situation. Just in case you get ensnared in this mess... Which I highly suspect that you will." Wayne let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry about all of the dramatics Commander, but I felt you needed to know of said details."

"I appreciate you thinking of me," Tienn answered as the two walked onto the turbolift, Wayne gave the destination as the quartermaster's office and the turbolift sped to its destination in silence.
