Yamaguchi went over to his desk before he sat down in one of the chairs facing his desk rather than behind his desk as many Admirals tended to do, it was a habit that he had picked up from Heather Duval. Olmos sat down on the sofa before him as she noted his seating posture, he had never sat like that before as he seemed to almost not care. Olmos knew better and Yamaguchi knew that she knew better. "So... Lil'yanna... What's on your mind?. Other than the blatantly obvious..."
"Just that Jake..." Olmos regarded him as she could see he was getting angry. Olmos knew she needed to placate him and quickly. "Jake, look at this from Nalla's perspective, she's the heir to her house... Shes now the matron of her house but she's also in Starfleet. She can only be in one place at one time so Pella is presently handling matters... She is better suited to it anyway..."
Yamaguchi regarded Olmos as he indicated the door. "You and Nalla stroll back into my life. You know what that encounter did to me, it was like a shot of the most potent drug, I still have issues that require attention and I suspect I always will... You know what unguarded sex does between a human and a Deltan. She then denied me any claim to this child, I argued with her over it and she clammed up hard and didn't budge." Yamaguchi explained. "Any of this ringing any bells.?"
"I was there Jake, I remember," Olmos answered.
"So you know why I'm angry about you showing up like this." Yamaguchi regarded her, a dark glare in his eyes. "Now you feel I owe you and Nalla a debt?"
"What... no. No Jake. I wanted to correct a wrong, not make one." Olmos didn't expect the accusation and it showed too with the look in her eyes.
Yamaguchi stopped, rather than continue with his angry rant. "I see..." Yamaguchi answered evenly. "Lil'yanna... Nalla made it clear that this child isn't mine and won't ever be mine. I came to accept this as something that could not be changed and I wouldn't be able to resolve the matter." he explained. "So, now you want to correct the matter... What does Nalla say about this?"
"Well, actually... Nalla doesn't know I'm having this chat with you..." Olmos paused as she realized what sort of alarm this would set up. "What!?" Yamaguchi snarled at her. "Are you seriously fucking kidding me, you show up, tell me about my daughter which I neither wanted to know about or cared to give a shit about... and now you tell me that Nalla doesn't even know you're telling me this. What the fuck Lil'yanna!," he growled loudly at her. "Nalla might not even approve of me having Bethany around."
Olmos knew that this battle was over and she had lost. "I'm sorry Jake..." and with that, there was nothing else she could say at this point, she rose to her feet. "I will leave you to what work you have before your meeting." and then she departed before Jake could stop her.
Yamaguchi watched her leave in silence as he picked up one of the PADD's on his desk.
Olmos sighed softly as she moved out into the hallway. 'Well, crap.' she thought to herself as she had not been expecting that response, what she had gotten was anything other then what she had gotten. She knew that Jake Yamaguchi was good with responsibilities, which was why she sought him out in the first place.
Olmos sighed before she gently touched the black stripe which ran down both sides of the corridor. "Computer, locate Torilla Yamaguchi...?"
"Fleet Captain Torilla Yamaguchi is not on the Starbase." the half-expected answer came back.
"Okay... What other Yamaguchi's are present on the Starbase."
"There are fourteen persons with the name Yamaguchi presently located on the Starbase."
Olmos paused as this was an unexpected bonus, she might find someone who could help her get through to Jake with the effort before her. "List them all off for me."
The computer began quickly, reciting Celeste's name and then working its way through the various Yamaguchi's in order of relation to the base's command staff. Olmos's smile widened as she heard Rachael Yamaguchi's name mentioned. "Locate Rachael Yamaguchi." she inquired.
The computer responded with two locations. Olmos selected the first location before she began moving off down the hallway towards her new destination.
