Admiral Jake Yamaguchi was sitting at one of the small replimat's on the plaza, he was enjoying a cup of coffee as he wanted ten minutes to himself before his next meeting. He smiled as he read the information on the PADD that he had with him, he had a meeting with Fleet Admiral Heather Duval regarding the Transwarp gate that was being assembled in the nearby Katori system which the USS Shinano was busy putting together. He drained the last dregs of the coffee as he rose to his feet. He picked up the PADD and the empty coffee cup in his hands only to find himself almost face to face with a Betazed woman from his past.

"Lil'yanna... What's on your mind?" Yamaguchi addressed the woman who was almost twice his age.

"It's been a long time Jake... I have a concern about a family member which I'd like to address with you." the older female answered with a soft sigh. "Nalla is..." she stopped as she noted Yamaguchi's response while he placed his empty coffee cup into the replicator, he then tapped three buttons to recycle his used coffee cup, he watched it shimmer as it was recycled and turned back into energy. Yamaguchi turned back to Olmos. "Walk with me Lil'yanna and we can discuss it." he turned and began moving off towards the nearby bank of turbolifts.

Olmos followed Yamaguchi in silence, she could sense his emotions as he tended to project like a bonfire, but this was mostly a human thing and not specific to Yamaguchi himself. She held her hands behind her back as she followed Yamaguchi as he called a turbolift, the doors opened a moment later and for the two Admirals, it was empty as Yamaguchi entered, Olmos followed him in silence as he turned. "What's on your mind Lil'yanna. You didn't come to see me down here on business..." as he regarded her with a cool look in his eyes.

"Your right. I did not." Olmos answered. She knew that Jake was many things, stupid and ignorant were not among them. "I came to introduce you to your daughter."

Yamaguchi paused, this was something new but then he realized what she was talking about and who he was talking about. "Nalla's child... The one she had with me that she carried to term." Yamaguchi paused. "Why does it matter Lil'yanna?" he inquired. "Level Twenty four, section nine, Admirals offices," he added for the benefit of the computer which was waiting on his destination rather than sit here all day in a motionless turbolift.

"It matters Jake," Olmos answered as she had been expecting his cold hostility which was why she decided to come to face the matter now rather than put it off any longer as she knew that Nalla was directly responsible for his outrage. "She is still your daughter, I brought her with me." Olmos added, "Nalla realized far too late what sort of a mistake she had made by denying you anything to do with Bethany..."

Yamaguchi's thought processes skidded to a rather sudden and abrupt halt. "Bethany... Why that name?" as he regarded his old family friend with a cold, suspicious look in his eyes.

"After your grandmother. Nalla was the one who decided and she was the one who felt you would approve of said choice." Olmos explained. "I was the one who decided that you needed to know your daughter..."

"She's not my child. Nalla made her choice 'very' clear to me, to Torilla and everyone else involved." Yamaguchi answered, growing more and more angered by the tone of the conversation and where the matter was heading between the two of them. "It's been over eighteen months and no word, no nothing then you just show up one day, out of the black and say... 'Hey, guess what I got for you'." as he gave her a rather sardonic look.

Olmos knew why he was angry, she could have fought harder but she did the best she felt with what she had at the time, then and now. "I did what I could Jake." she started before Yamaguchi cut her off. "So, what changed them Lil'yanna?" Yamaguchi asked.

"Nalla got a command in the Ninety-second. I asked Admiral Emerson to consider her and Nalla is now commanding the USS Salvation with a full Vulcan crew." Olmos answered as she regarded him, the doors opened silently which had the effect of terminating the conversation in its tracks. Yamaguchi quickly schooled his features back to their normal cool, calm and collected appearance before he stepped out of the lift.

Olmos followed in silence, she could sense the storm brewing right in front of her as they made their way down the hallway and they came to a large set of double doors marked "YAMAGUCHI J - ADMIRAL - XO, TAURUS REACH". The text was bookended with two large combadge symbols. Yamaguchi went into his office. "Thanks, Braelynn." he addressed his yeoman.

The young woman sitting behind the desk nodded her head. "Would you like me to continue to hold your calls?"

"Yes, please... How long before my need appointment and where is it being held?"

Naz'jar regarded him. "You are expected in Fleet Admiral Duval's office in a little under an hour for a briefing regarding the Cassini's engine trials and the developments regarding the Shinano," she explained.

"Thanks, Braelynn," he commented evenly before he turned and went into his office. Olmos followed in silence.

Naz'jar returned her attention to the paperwork on her desk, as she knew that if Yamaguchi needed anything, he'd ask her for what it was he needed.
