Uncomfortable Silence - Part Twelve

Mission: Mission 104: Saturn's Children
Location: Quartermasters Offices - USS Kronprinz
Timeline: 1100Hrs - September 7th, 2393

Fleet Captain Coral Yamaguchi-Antilles walked down the hallway, she gently reached both of her hands up and over her head as she proceeded to pull her hair out of the ponytail it had been in, it wasn't working for her as the hair kept falling over her eyes, she knew she needed to get her bangs dealt with sooner or later as she realized that it was going to be sooner rather than later. Yamaguchi-Antilles tapped the turbolift call button as she settled in to wait, she decided to redo her ponytail while she was waiting, so her hands went back up and over her head, this had the double effect of arching her back and pushing her bust forward, more so than normal. While this was going on the doors opened and Yamaguchi-Antilles found herself face to face with three younger members of the crew, she moved into the left. "Quartermasters office," she commented in her soft dulcet tones as she finished with her hair.

"Sorry guys, hair isn't behaving..." Yamaguchi-Antilles commented to the Andorian Chan, the Bajoran female, and the Vulcan female, the Vulcan nodded. "Indeed Captain." she rumbled in her Raal accent. Yamaguchi-Antilles raised an eyebrow. "Are you from the Varoth Sea... From Paal province?" she inquired of the Vulcan.

"You know my world?" The Vulcan female inquired, surprise coloring her tone of voice.

"I do." Antilles-Yamaguchi paused. "But that was a long time ago..." she added quietly.

The Bajoran raised an eyebrow. "Vulcan is a little too warm for me... Sorry folks," she commented.

Yamaguchi-Antilles nodded. "My husband prefers his vacations on a beach in the Mediterranian... I prefer them in colder climates like Norway..." she slowly smiled. "To each their right?"

The Andorian chan regarded his new commanding officer. "Have you been to Andoria?"

"I have. I visited Lor'Vela a few years ago... from my point of view, it was about twenty years ago... When I was an Ensign on my first assignment. It was glorious at the winter solstice. The Andorians know how to keep one warm at night..." Yamaguchi-Antilles slowly smiled. "It was memorable," she commented as the turbolift doors opened, the signage facing the small group indicated that this was Yamaguchi-Antilles's stop, she stepped off the turbolift. "Bye folks." and with that, the door closed and she as gone.

"What did she mean by the statement of keeping one warm at night." The Bajoran regarded the Andorian chan before her.

"The Winter Solstice festival is known for its various levels of revelry, this ranges from child-friendly events all the way up to entertainment strictly for adults only." the Chan explained evenly. "For what Captain Yamaguchi-Antilles experienced, maybe she had a good time planetside." he then shrugged. "She clearly thinks well of Andoria."

The Vulcan woman nodded. "She said the same about Vulcan... Maybe the Captain has been to both worlds."

Meanwhile, Yamaguchi-Antilles moved down the hallway, she moved into the quartermaster's offices. "El-Tee..." she addressed the young human female seated at the desk. "What can I do for you skipper?"

Yamaguchi-Antilles regarded the younger woman with a smile on her lips. "I have two children who I'd like to have added to the system," she explained in a light tone as she stepped over to the desk in question. "Okay, I can take care of things for you ma'am. Do you have the files for me?"

"I do." as Yamaguchi-Antilles produced a PADD which she handed to the other woman before her. The other woman accepted the PADD. "Ahh, two Klingon girls... Okay." and with that, the young Lieutenant went about adding the two to the system before she tapped a quick request to sickbay for the files in question, she received them a moment later. "Ahh, sickbay was ready for me." she smiled at Yamaguchi-Antilles.

"Good, Lee was able to get the matter addressed quickly," Yamaguchi-Antilles answered with a gentle smile.

The younger female nodded. "Sounds good ma'am." as she quickly input the specifics of the two Klingon children into the ship's database before she produced two combadges. "Here you go," she explained. "These are keyed to the two girls in question. Hopefully, they won't take them off but if they do then they are in the system so someone will find them... Either way, they won't get far ma'am."

"Sounds good El-Tee... My husband, children and I thank you."

"Of course ma'am." the woman nodded with a gentle smile on her lips. "Can I help you with anything else.?"

"Nope. I'm heading to the ship's school next." Yamaguchi-Antilles commented before she took her leave, two combadges in hand, she moved down the hallway and into a turbolift before heading into the ship's school.

Yamaguchi-Antilles nodded as she regarded the receptionist. "Hello. Could I see the principal when he gets a moment.?" she inquired. "I can wait."

The receptionist was a civilian and she knew exactly what clout this woman before her, commanded. "Let me check, please ma'am."

"Of course," Yamaguchi-Antilles answered. "It's about me enrolling two new children into the ship's school."

The receptionist paused. "Oh." she sighed as she released a long sigh that she didn't realize she was holding. "I can assist you with this one ma'am..."

Yamaguchi-Antilles cheered instantly. "You can?" she asked as she placed a PADD onto the desk before the receptionist. "I'd like to enroll these two young girls into the school system," she explained. "I have no idea of the education level, I will leave that one with you guys to determine as best as you can. I'm Sorry, their records are simply not available."

"Of course... Oh, a pair of Klingon girls..." the receptionist answered. "That explains much," she commented evenly. "We can prepare something for... Next Monday?" she commented. "It'll give them a week to settle in and find their way around."

"Very wise." Yamaguchi-Antilles grinned at the other woman. "I had not thought of that, thank you," she commented.

"Your welcome Captain. I have your two girls in for testing and the like." The receptionist explained. "Tomorrow morning at about ten AM." she added. "Simply come back and see me, I will take care of matters from there."

"Thank you," Yamaguchi-Antilles answered as she accepted the PADD back and then she took her leave in silence.
