The Great Bear Trap - Part One

Posted on Fri Mar 20th, 2020 @ 4:23pm by Lieutenant Colonel Athaw "Warlock", son of Tohrnn & Colonel Anthony "Ironhide" Raynor & Chief Sergeant Nadine Jes-Tereth

Mission: Mission 103: The Rumblings of Discontent
Location: Various Locations - USS Solemn Penance
Timeline: 1300Hrs - August 26th, 2393

While he moved through the ships crawlspaces, it was obvious to Ironhide that some of the crew had indeed gone over to the other side, he sighed softly as he came to the realization that he would need to shoot at and incapacitate fellow officers who had joined Starfleet, he considered these people above suspicion and recent events had shaken him to his core. Just then another figure appeared before him. "Omega One One?" the person asked him, with a phaser in hand but not drawn.

"Alpha Charlie One," Ironhide answered, giving the countersign. "Warlock, its good to see you."

"Its good to be seen." the Klingon answered. "Many of the crew are still trapped inside the shuttles, starfighters and other support craft, I was able to move via way of a site to site transport to a location near astrometric's. Taking out the power grid in that region was a simple matter," he added quietly.

"Good idea... Without Astrometrics, we will have issues with navigation." Ironhide answered evenly. "What's your next part of the plan?"

"We take out the ship's engine drives and call for help at the same time." Warlock answered as he regarded Ironhide. "Where is Jes-Tereth?"

"She's nearby, presently hacking into the ship's replicator system for some food," Ironhide answered evenly. "She's one deck down and two sections over," he added. "With luck, she'll be back soon."

"Good plan... I know that Shkreli has a forty man crew working for him, even if he has taken losses in sickbay, the marines, and the fighter corps personel." Warlock explained. "Mostly he has Starfleet lackeys following him, How many medics did you get?"

"All of them, he has no medics left, most were arrested but two ended up dead after a fistfight went south. What of the marines?" Ironhide explained evenly.

"All wounded, they were all nabbed and arrested at about the same time." Warlock explained. "I believe they are all in sickbay now. Getting dealt with." the Klingon added a moment later as he settled in to wait, as a moment later a door opened below them and up came a woman as she climbed a ladder. "Juliet Two Nine.?"

"Alpha Charlie One," Ironhide answered her. "We're here."

"Omega One One." Warlock commented as he nodded to Jes-Tereth, the tall slender woman moved out of the ladder access as the hatch slid closed with a soft clunk. She dolled out three rations. "I always replicate too much, just in case..." she explained in a simple sentence why she had three bars rather than two.

"Good plan." Warlock answered evenly as he accepted the ration cube in silence. He peeled off the wrapper before he took a bite, taking a moment to regard the other two people. Jes-Tereth ate her food without any major issues or concerns but it was clear that she didn't like eating rations. Ironhide meanwhile was crunching through his cube, a moment later he popped the last of it into his mouth. "Ready.?" he asked of the gathering.

"Yes, let's move." Warlock answered evenly.

The small gathering began to pick up their equipment before they began moving off down the crawlspaces.

Warlock regarded Ironhide. "Engineering is too large for us to attack from one vector and expect to be successful." he paused. "The three of us should attack from multiple angles. It's the best way to lay siege to the location and take the place quickly, once the alert goes out... Control will be seized from the bridge and they will lock the place down." Warlock added.

Ironhide raised an eyebrow as he regarded his comrade. "You are full of good news... Anyone ever tell you this?" he asked

Jes-Tereth smiled. "It'll work, the three of us pop up, take out as many of them as possible... Make sure we fry their power grid first through so they can't call for help."

Ironhide shook his head. "We need to take out the main power grid too." he paused. "We could bypass that idea and take out the mains instead. There is a master cutoff switch near the Chief Engineers office, I know exactly where it is."

"Three against what they have, it would be a dangerous contest of wits," he commented. "Is this a wise plan?"

No." Ironhide answered as Jes-Tereth added. "This whole plan fails if they get the chance to call for aid," she explained evenly.

"Fine, then we take out the mains, it'll cripple the ship," Ironhide responded evenly.

"It'll force them to focus on a manual power restart sequence which isn't going to take five minutes, they'll need to go look at every system and that will take days with the limited personnel they have... Even if they were not at war with us." Jes-Tereth explained evenly. "Which they are," she added with a gentle smile. "Questions boys?"

"Nope," Ironhide answered with a nod as Warlock simply shook his head no. "Alright, then let's get this done..." Jes-Tereth finished.
