Kira sighed softly, as this all brought back memories for her. "Lovely. How is she?" she asked in a flat tone of voice.
"She's alright at the present time," Edward explained as he noticed his sibling's discomfort. "We have one of the holo nannies watching over her. It's set to alert both us and medical if anything should go wrong. So, odds are someone will get to her quickly. Or so we hope." he then sighed softly. "Dad told us about that time things went daft with Andrea."
"The incident where mom drowned," Kira answered with a soft shiver. It was something that didn't have to do much to evoke memories of horror, pain and tears. She very nearly lost her mother on that particular day. "We were fortunate that dad knew exactly what to do. He kept his head while everyone else lost theirs." she sighed softly.
Ed nodded. "Dad told me about it. He said that his wife scared him out of his mind." he sighed softly. "Andrea didn't even realize what was going on until about five minutes after he revived her."
Kira sighed. "Dad never told us that part."
"Thats probably for the best. He knew you guys were having enough issues with the event at hand." K'Taal smiled gently at the other woman before her.
Kira sighed softly. "I know that neither Robbie nor Rachael took it well. Jerome was at school and we broke it to him when he got home. He was very upset about it. Sarilla and Mekka both took things badly too." she then let out a soft sigh. "But I know mom was a lot more careful about how she bathed in the future. Not that it helped her any." Kira growled softly as the details of both events passed through her mind.
K'Taal could see the other woman thinking about the details, so she gently placed her hand over Kira's own. "Kira. Don't go there," she said quietly.
"I know." Kira sighed. "Dad accepted it and moved on years ago, but I can't help it. I sometimes wonder... Maybe mom is out there somewhere." she sighed as she knew how insane her thought sounded, even to her. "It was twenty years ago. Everyone else moved on, and Dad found not one but three someone's new." she then sighed. "Two left him for various reasons, and Kerrie is out on assignment. She's gonna be gone for years and dad's right back where he started. looking after four kids alone."
Edward nodded. He was also worried about his father. "He makes it look easy," he commented, but the look on his face said otherwise.
Kira noted the look but opted to not comment on it. "Anyway. Where is Sorlora now.?" she inquired, having missed that she had been informed not five minutes earlier where she was.
"She's asleep in our main bedroom," K'Taal commented. "Hopefully, she is asleep and Kassin is not pestering her. I suspect that the reverse is true." she then sighed.
Kira smiled in amusement, despite her own mood. "Kassin is generally well-behaved, isn't she?"
"Yes but I don't need her pestering her grandmother. Even if neither Sorlora nor Kassin is ready to process these details yet." K'Taal answered. "Let Sorlora come around to the revelation on her own, in her own time."
"I suspect that mom has bigger issues that she needs to contend with first," Ed commented. "Mom needs to go and sort out things with dad, once and for all. For all time, this time. Now that she's here. Dad's moved on." He paused a moment. "So what now?"
"I know," Kira answered. "He still has Kerrie, whose own feelings need to be considered in the mix." she paused. "Considering that Kerrie is off on a charting mission to visit the Gum Nebula. Except she has a whole battlegroup with her." Kira then shrugged. "She's also going to be gone for a couple of years... I know, I know... She gave dad her blessing for him to seek the attention of other women since she couldn't be there to tend to issues and concerns herself but," Kira finaly ran out of steam as she said it. "I dunno how I feel on the subject," she admitted before she sighed.
"Thats because your too close to the issue, Kira. Dad and mom have unresolved issues between them." Ed answered quietly. "Now that they have the chance. They should be allowed to do so. Dad might not be happy to see her, or he may be overjoyed. I have no idea how this is gonna go down. I doubt even he will know either until it happens." he explained.
"Lovely." Kira sighed. "Well. I guess we'll see how it goes then. Won't we?" she inquired before she shook her head. "Let's hope dad uses his head rather than his heart. Otherwise, this could go poorly. For all involved."
"Yeah." Ed agreed with his sibling.
