Diversions - Part Two

Posted on Tue Dec 27th, 2022 @ 1:45pm by Commander Rachael Antilles

Mission: Mission 116: All Along the Watchtowers - Part One
Location: Various Locations - USS USS Louisville
Timeline: 1900Hrs, December 20th, 2393

Commander Rachael Antilles came to a halt at the entrance to holodeck two. She knew that Heather was located within and she wanted to inform her eldest personally that dinner was ready. Rachael felt strange collecting a wayward child, but she knew that Heather was not the average child and nor was she the type to spend her time frivolously. She tapped the button that she knew would send a request to her daughter. Rachael would not violate her daughter's privacy. If she didn't want mom present, then she would at least tell her. The doors opened as Rachael entered the holosuite. Rachael smiled as she admired the woodland setting present.

"Oh, I see what you're doing Heather," Rachael commented aloud as she stepped forward. Walking down the path towards the sound of rushing water. Rachael knew this was one of her own programs as she often did this sort of mind-calming exercise. She also came here to have sex with her husband when he was present. This program was what had resulted in all of their children coming along.

Rachael found herself walking around a fifteen-foot waterfall. She found her daughter standing with one leg and foot curled up and her arms outstretched. Heather was also wearing a simple black one-piece bathing suit which was designed for working out in, not for looking good.

Heather smiled as she regarded her mother while she approached. She ceased her present stance as she pressed her fist into her hand before she bowed to her mother, still holding her hands together.

Rachael repeated the gesture as she returned her daughter's bow. "Heather. I wanted to let you know that dinner will be in ten minutes and I'm requesting your presence at the table," she commented with a gentle smile.

"Thanks, Mom," Heather answered, a gentle smile on her face. "Computer, freeze program." and with that, the flow of water slowed to nothing. Rachael smiled as she regarded her daughter. "Your control is improving," she commented. "Your ready," she commented.

"Discipline takes time to master," Heather commented. "Selene and Cole both agree with me. Anthony doesn't enjoy standing around, clearing one's mind. Dad doesn't either." Heather commented with a gentle smile on her lips. "Dad does try this but he..." the teen paused a moment. "Umm... How do I say this nicely?" she asked of her mother.

"Either be bold or be boring." Rachael reminded her daughter.
"Your father doesn't enjoy getting soaked while trying to stand on one leg," she added for explanation. "He hates it, what does not help is that he sees it as boring." Rachael suddenly grinned. "I guess that's why all you guys took after me."

"Everyone has to go their own way, Mom," Heather answered. "I spend my time meditating and learning this because it suits me to learn it. It helps me with my various problems and issues. There are men on the ship who want me. Classes in school want me to do extra work for extra credit." she sighed softly. "I keep trying to tell them no but everyone wants me for extra-curricular things. Mostly stuff I'll never need again once I leave school."

Rachael picked up her daughter's bag, she then handed it to Heather as she took a step back. This was Heather's domain and she made sure her daughter knew it. Heather smiled as she pulled out a large beach towel, which she had replicated for herself a week ago. She then draped it over her shoulders. "This kind of meditation helps me to think. To focus on what's important." Heather explained to her mother. "I love it," she added.

"Success isn't always about greatness. It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come in time." Rachael reminded her daughter. "Anyway. I'll leave you in peace so you can change. As I said, dinner will be on the table when you get home kay?"

"I'll be right along mom." Heather smiled at her mother. She watched as she called for the exit and when she departed. Heather waited for the door to close before she began peeling off her suit. She then began drying herself off and then donning her clothing. On went her underwear and then the rest of her clothing. "Computer. File and clear." Heather ordered before she called for the exit and departed the now empty holodeck.

Rachael was waiting for her daughter. She smiled as she regarded her. "You mentioned you were having guy issues. Is there anything I can do to help?" she inquired. "Does your dad need to be concerned?"

"Do what you do best, mom," Heather responded. "I have it well in hand but it's always nice to know that you are in my corner."

Rachael nodded her head as her smile faded away slowly. "Just remember what I taught you. Do not be afraid to use force in case buddy gets a little too liberal with you," she commented. "Besides, I've always been in your corner since the day you were born. I've been there and I'll always be there," she commented. "As has your father."

Heather smiled. "Thanks, mom."

Rachael gently gave her daughter a quick hug. "Come on, honey. Your dinner and siblings are all waiting for you," she added. The two walked off down the hall in silence, content in each other's company.
