Its Christmas on Vanguard - Part Four

Posted on Tue Dec 27th, 2022 @ 2:05pm by Lieutenant Kadian Paris & Marcus Solusar

Mission: Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1800Hrs - December 24th, 2393

Lieutenant Kadian Paris emerged from the large dance hall as she reached down, she quickly slipped off her four-inch heels. She groaned softly while she did so. "Do you know how much of a bitch, heels are?" she asked rhetorically.

"As a matter of fact. I do." Solusar answered. "When we get back to your place I'll give you a foot massage," he added as the two went down the hallway. "A full massage then?" he asked of her.

"I've never had one before," Paris admitted as the two of them came to a stop next to a turbolift car. She tapped the button once. The turbolift opened a moment later with an empty car. Paris entered first. Followed by Solusar. She gave out the destination and he held his silence. The car sped off a moment later.

"How long do you think the party will be going on for,?" Solusar asked of her.

"It's going to be an all-night thing," Paris answered. "We'll have plenty of time for our gift exchange and we can enjoy ourselves and then head back later on tonight." she then smiled. "That's if we are so inclined." she paused. "Tell me more about the massage part?"

"I am a fully certified masseuse. I can handle whatever you throw at me." Solusar grinned at her. "When I am done. You won't be able to get out of bed."

"Challenge accepted," Paris answered, a smile on her lips.

"Oh. I'd hoped you say that." Solusar regarded her. The turbolift doors opened and the two of them got out of the turbolift while several others wanted to get onto the lift. A few minutes went by as the two reached Paris's quarters.

The place looked quite spartan as this was a woman who clearly didn't have much of a home life. Paris had almost not bothered with redecorating on any level whatsoever.

Solusar removed his shoes at the door before he slipped off his jacket. Leaving the shirt and the tie in place. Paris regarded him. "My home isn't much to look at," she commented. "I've never bothered with decorating it."

"I can understand why. You're a research scientist and one never knows how long you'll stay in one place." Solusar explained. "They were sending me to various medical facilities all over Earth for the better part of six months. It got to the point where I didn't even know what day it was." he regarded her. "If you don't mind. I'd like to take a moment and change into something I can breathe in rather than this tux."

"Help yourself. My replicator is your replicator." Paris commented with a smile when suddenly a beep from the comm system announced its intentions to interrupt their moment. "Com Center to Paris. You have a message coming in on secured channel three."

Solusar smiled. "I thought it was Kam or Beth or Galiaan, wondering where I was," he commented.

Paris sighed. "It's family, calling to wish me a merry Christmas. Don't go anywhere. I'll be back." and with that, she ran into the next room, one that was partially out of sight, it was clear that it was designed to do work rather than operate as a recreation area or storage area.

Solusar went over to the replicator where he replicated the clothing he would need. A pair of jogging pants with a tank top followed by a pair of socks to complete the look. He received the clothing before he began changing in her living room. The shirt and pants came off and were replaced with his new clothing which fit him well. He pulled on the tank top before he sat down on the sofa as he settled in to wait. He knew his wait would be a while.

Solusar took a moment to fold up his clothing as he would soon be heading back to the party. If only to reassure the others that he was alright. He placed the clothing in a small pile on the coffee table before him as he rose to his feet. He moved over to the replicator and ordered himself something to drink.

Solusar lifted his drink in silence, while he took a moment to look around the room. His first impression had not said much about this living space. It was almost as if she didn't use it at all. He considered what he had known of Paris. It was like she almost didn't even exist. This home of hers was almost unused and she was almost always at work. What sort of social life did she have. It seemed like she had almost nothing whatsoever. Yet, she had managed to impress his brother enough for Kameron to bring Marcus out here because he wanted her to have that special someone.

Marcus was flattered his brother thought so highly. But he was as yet, unsure of her. He would need to proceed with caution.
