The doors to the Madrid spaceport opened as Marcus Solusar glanced down at the PADD in his hands. The PADD indicated which desk he needed to go to. Solusar hurried and got into the lineup for Federation Spaceways. It was a civilian ferry service most often used by Starfleet personel moving two and from assignments. The service was often spartan but it was also cheap and quick.
Solusar reached the desk. He turned over his bags and documentation to be checked when prompted. "Thank you. Mister Solusar. Your ship is presently boarding in Hanger Eleven. Gate eighteen." the man smiled. "Have a good flight."
"Thanks," Solusar answered as he collected his items before he moved through security. Knowing the rules and regulations went into matters. He passed through this area without issue or concern. Solusar reached his destination without issue and then he boarded without complaint.
Solusar took his seat without hestiation. Before he closed his eyes and began to relax. What seemed like two seconds after he had sat down. He quickly realized that the shuttle he was sitting in was now getting underway. He had missed the final boarding call and the Captain's announcement.
The shuttle emerged from the hanger before heading up into the clouds. Within moments, the shuttle was in low Earth orbit, heading for one of the dozen or so ferryboat liners that were gathered in this area of Earth space. Within moments the shuttle had landed in the small hanger. Solusar rose to his feet along with the dozen or so others. Many would simply be beamed up to these ships but some also prefered the long way up. Solusar found it was easier to go by shuttle.
Solusar walked through the airlock and onto the ferryboat liner. He had to present his documentation again but he was soon issued his stateroom key and told where his new home was located.
Solusar entered his new home away from home. It was two rooms. One was a stateroom and the other was a bathroom with a toilet and walk-in shower. Clearly, this was a space that Starfleet personel tended to use as they were often experts of making something out of nothing. Especally in terms of size, scale and scope.
Solusar smiled as he proceeded to sit down at the workspace table. He then unpacked his PADD's. He wanted another look at the pictures that Kam had sent him about the place that he and Beth owned but were not using. Maybe it could help him with his various issues. He hated being on Earth and Kam wasn't wrong about that.
Marcus sighed. He didn't even like Earth, as a planet. He didn't like most of the people who seemed to think that the Federation was a nation-state that humanity had built alone. Solusar knew that this was a fabrication of the highest kind. He shook his head while he rose to his feet.
He went over to the small food slot before ordering a vanilla milkshake for himself. He lifted the drink before he went back to the table. He took a sip of the milkshake as he went about going over the dozen or so pictures. "I like what you sent me Kam. I can see why you want me to have this place." Solusar commented aloud as he took a sip of his milkshake.
Solusar picked up the other PADD in his pack. It was literature about what this transport service had and the entertainment that he could expect. There were two holosuites active and open to all. One was a tropical beach resort and the second was an arctic style ski lodge. There was a food cafeteria and a movie hall. Most of the rest of it was a shall mall and food court. There was also a bowling ally and a zero-gee gymnasium located aboard as well.
Solusar smiled as he noticed that there was plenty to do. Now that the ship and its personel aboard were underway and heading for the Taurus Reach. They would put in at the Starbase first before heading onto Utgarde IV. The ship's final destination was expected to be within two weeks. This suited Solusar fine. He was in no real hurry to be anywhere, and nor was he in any real rush to go anywhere. Other than Starbase Vanguard.
Solusar thought back to the conversation that had just taken place with his brother, the previous evening. It was something that Kam had said about a girl. "I've got the girl of your dreams waiting for you." Solusar laughed at the statement as it played back in his head. The arrogance of it seemed so over the top, and yet. Kameron wasn't the kind to make wild claims like that. Solusar wanted to know who this girl was, she must have been something for Kameron to make that sort of a claim. He smiled as he went back to his milkshake.
