Mission:
Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1900Hrs - December 4th, 2393
Lt Commander Kameron Solusar-Yamaguchi smiled as he tapped the display once. His mother had just departed with her grandson. She was babysitting this evening but Jessica Solusar knew that there were issues afoot between Kameron and his spouse. She decided she would keep Robbie overnight and then get him off to kindergarten the following morning. This would let Kam and Beth resolve their issues or so she hoped.
Solusar-Yamaguchi went over to the workstation that he and Beth maintained in their home. So if either of them were needing to take care of someone with extra paperwork, then they could do it from home. He tapped the display once as he tapped his combadge. "Solusar-Yamaguchi to Com center?"
"Go ahead Commander.?" came the expected response.
Solusar-Yamaguchi quickly outlined his request. Why he called and who he was trying to reach. The com centre proceeded to carry out his request. Within minutes Kameron smiled as he regarded the eyes of his eldest brother.
"Hey, bud. How ya doing?" Marcus Solusar commented with a wide grin.
"I have no complaints," Solusar-Yamaguchi answered with a grin.
"Right, that you'd like to make to me at this time. I know you too well bud. What's on your mind?" Marcus inquired of his brother.
"Well. There is a major Christmas party coming up. Here on Vanguard and I was thinking. You're stuck on Earth with no family close by and I was wondering if you wanted to go." Kameron explained. "Besides. I have a surprise for you. A nice girl who you're gonna love. Trust me." his smile widened as he regarded his brother. "I did keep an eye out and I found the perfect girl for you." Kameron grinned at his brother. "Trust me, you're gonna love her."
Marcus raised an eyebrow. "Really. Tell me more?" he leaned forward as he regarded Kameron.
"The event is on the Twenty fourth of December, roughly three weeks or so from now. It'll take you twenty days to get here," he commented
"Kam. I might not make it in time. I don't suppose you could send someone to collect me?" he commented, even though he knew it was highly unlikely.
Kameron smiled. "Well. As it happens. Your in luck. Beth and I thought ahead and already booked your passage on a star-liner that's heading this way. Tomorrow afternoon." He tapped the display before him several times. "I'm sending you the documentation now. Stick it on a PADD and get yourself down to the Madrid Spaceport tomorrow morning around ten hundred local time. You won't need much." Kam smiled.
"Wow. I wasn't expecting this." Marcus commented softly.
"Marcus. I was going to say this to your face and odds are I will anyway. But I know you are sick of living on Earth. Besides, mom and dad are here at Vanguard. They've been helping me with my issues with Beth and Robbie." he paused while he waited for the imminent barrage of anger and hatred from his brother.
Marcus paused. He had not been privy to the whereabouts of his parents. The look on his face said as much. "I had heard... I heard you and mom made nice." he sighed softly. "Coral mentioned it, ironically." he paused. "I think she's jealous of you."
"Of me. What?" Kameron paused. "Marcus, that sounds insane."
"I know," Marcus commented. "Yet I can talk to her and you can't. Jerrica dismissed the entire notion and said that her sister needs to get her head outta her ass." he chuckled softly. "She also said that Coral needs to get laid too."
"Now that sounds like Jerrica," Kameron answered softly. "Anyway. I did have another reason for calling... I want you to think about this before you refuse me. Beth and I have a house here on Utgarde IV. We're not using and we want you to move in and use it. The space is easily twice the size of the place you have now. Plus the view from the south of the mountains is to die for. Or so Elizabeth thinks. She was the one who came up with the idea and we discussed it between us."
Marcus was intrigued. "Got any literature on this place of yours?" he asked. He paused as he considered the notion. He hated being here on Earth and as he was the only member of the family who didn't join the service, he knew his prospects for anything off-world were quite slim. For now, he was taking classes in various sciences. Marcus had finished all of them and his last class had been that afternoon where he had earned a passing grade in applied mathematics.
Kameron tapped his display as he called up the dozen or so files. "Sending you what I have now. Enjoy," he commented.
Marcus received the files a moment later. He called them up as he began looking through them. He picked up a PADD and moved his spacelines ticket onto it. Then he began to smile. "Kam. I will consider it," he answered.
Kameron likewise smiled. "That's all I can ask, brother," he commented. "Just make sure you get here and I will hook you up with the girl of your dreams."
"That's quite a claim," Marcus admitted. "I hope it isn't lacking."
"We will see." Kameron grinned. "But you have been needing a girl of your own for a long time now. So I got you one. She doesn't know it yet."
Marcus nodded, as he grinned at his brother. "Alright, Kam. Challenge accepted."
"Good," Kameron answered. "I'll seeya when you get here. Go pack. I'll talk to you later." and with that, Kameron hung up on his older brother.
