Lieutenant Kadian Paris tapped the display before her. She smiled as the displays from her work the previous evening had borne fruit. "Ahh. Galiaan. You did a heck of a job with these scans." she mused aloud. She was speaking to herself since she was alone but on the displays before her. She was sitting she could only be described as a form of cancer.

"So Elizabeth has been carrying this around for some time now. It's this that's been causing her issues." the smaller female mused aloud. She reached over as a large PADD seemed to lift up off the desk by itself before it flew over to her. Paris gently grasped the PADD with her hands.

Paris began transferring her data from the wall monitor to the PADD in her hands. "I need to see Doctor Fordring," she commented aloud. This was one of Kadian Paris's various habits. Speaking aloud as if someone else was in the room with her at the time, when she was alone. It was a coping tool designed to help her cope with working long hours alone.

"Computer. Locate Galiaan Fordring?" Paris asked gently.

"Doctor Fordring is in medical ward one." came the expected response. Paris knew that Galiaan Fordring had two young children in the house and that she was planning on becoming pregnant again so she could have another child. But she knew that those plans had run off a cliff-face with her alcohol poisoning incident back about the end of October. But that was not her main concern. The information on the PADD in her hands was.

Paris came around the corner as she entered medical ward one. She spotted her quarry in moments. Paris smiled as she approached the other woman. "Doctor Fordring!" She addressed the larger woman before her.

Fordring blinked as she regarded Kadian Paris. "Kadian. What's up?" she asked.

"I need a moment of your time." as she all but thrust the PADD in her hands into the hands of the more massive woman before her. "I need a second opinion."

Fordring nodded her head as she regarded the younger woman before her. "Let's go talk in your office. I suspect you have information that I am not to share on pain of death?" she commented in a light and cheery tone but many didn't think Fordring was even capable of making jokes anymore. Paris was among that crowd and the look in her eye said as much.

Fordring sighed as the two entered Paris's little den of sin, as Paris had been calling it since she had taken over this office space upon her arrival to Vanguard almost eight months ago. "Did you even go home last night?" Fordring asked quietly.

"I did. I tried to sleep and found I couldn't. So I came back here and went back to work." Paris explained before she added quickly. "Well. Look on the bright side of things. I was able to find out what the issue was that was bothering our mutual associate." she paused a moment. "Had I waited?. I would not have found out before Elizabeth's examination and I know you would have prefered to go into that battle with all the weapons of war at your fingertips." Paris indicated the PADD. "She can buy me lunch later."

"What time did you punch in last night?" Fordring inquired gently.

"Roughly just after midnight," Paris answered. "Why do you ask?"

"Alright then." Fordring paused a moment. "Stick around to help me with Beth but when that meeting is over. So is your shift today. Okay?" Fordring answered with a smile. "I mean I get the dedication to your work and to your colleagues. But you need some me-time too, honey and I do not need you killing yourself because you're unable to sleep. Besides. You did make good use of the time and you did come up with this." Fordring turned her attention to the display on the PADD. "Cancer. That's not what I was expecting, to be honest." Fording admitted.

"Neither was I," Paris answered. "To think that a few cells can go malignant like that. It's scary... I wish I had a boyfriend who could hug me and tell me it'll be alright." Paris admitted. "But it gets worse."

"How so?" Fordring inquired, she caught the hesitation in Paris's tone of voice.

"I can't find a single thing wrong with her. Especially something that could cause cancer to this degree." Paris paused as she shook her head. "I don't understand. The growth patterns indicate this is only a few months but all indications are telling me that she should have had this found a few years ago."

"There are too many unanswered questions," Fordring admitted. "Do you have any solutions?"

"I have three options. One is to do nothing and let her deliver her babies as planned on February the nineteenth. The second is to watch her like a hawk and see how long she lasts and the last. Deliver her babies now." Paris answered the last with an emphatic look. "Then we sedate her and clean the sludge out of her, once... and forever," Paris explained. "The sooner we act. the better it will be. Also, I want her to consider the age reversal therapy as well." Paris paused. "The issue is in her genetics. So we heed to consider that as a possibility as well. Her family has a record of this. I can look into the matter and see if her twin is actually her twin or if she can become something more than her twin."

Fordring slowly smiled. "I will handle her twin, after her prenatal. You did a heck of a job with this Kadian. She's due in less than fifteen minutes for her check. We can explain this to her then." Fordring paused. "I need to go and get me something to drink because I'm a tired momma and I need some wake-up juice," she commented. "I'll seeya at about Oh eight hundred for the dance kay?"

"Yeah. Thanks for your time Doctor." With that Fordring turned and departed.
