Mission: Mission 109: The Travelers Path
Location: Various Locations - USS Shinano
Timeline: 0730Hrs - November 20th, 2393

Captain Michael Yeager was on leave and the USS Fe'garren was tied up to the Starbase and his spouse's ship was also present at the Starbase, also in for refitting. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a simple shirt and he was prepared for a busy day with the kids and his spouse when he suddenly noted just how quiet it was in his household. His children were not known for being quiet and neither was his spouse, while she was small and stout in frame, she was known for being sharp in her mind but she was also but a subtle woman either.

Yeager slowly smiled, as he suddenly knew where his spouse was located as he turned to his right and moved slowly into the nearby study which he knew his wife would be presently located, and he found her there, kneeling before the Bajoran shrine that she had built in this room. There was a shrine on the Fe'garren and there was likewise one on the Shinano so she could maintain her faith on either ship. Yeager maintained the shrine on the Fe'garren for his wife's benefit.

Yeager regarded his three children in silence. Kastian Duran-Yeager was the youngest at the tender age of four years old, next in line was Duran-Yeager Lanair, she was the only female child that Syal had to date and she was aged five years old, lastly was Duran-Yeager Shakaar who was half Vulcan and looked very different to his siblings as this was not one of Yeager's children, Syal had given birth to Shakaar before Yeager had even met his spouse but this had never bothered him in the slightest as in Michael's eyes. Shakaar was his son regardless of the fact that his skin was quite light in tone, matching his mother in terms of appearance. Also, his personality was quite different than the other two children present as the other half of Shakaar was thanks to his Vulcan father, whom Syal did not maintain ties with, she did not wish to maintain them.

Yeager regarded his spouse in silence, he was not of the faithful and Duran accepted this, she and Yeager had discussed this subject at length and often. It was something Yeager encouraged in his spouse, her faith was a source of great strength for her and she took comfort in the riddles and the tenants of her faith. It was also something that she insisted that the children learn.

Yeager was in agreement with his spouse but he didn't want her to be dogmatic on the subject, he knew that their children would begin questioning their faith and why it was important. He had planned to be ready for when the challenges came in and he would tend to them.

Yeager watched his spouse in silence while she took care of the temple service, she slowly rose to her feet before turning to her children. "Thank you children." she addressed them, her dulcet tones were soothing to Yeager's ears.

The children likewise rose to their feet before they moved out of the room, now free to go and play. Yeager regarded his spouse in silence. "Go play, kids..." he commented as the children, now having their parent's permission, raced past him and out of the door, into the main area of their quarters.

Yeager nodded. "Did the temple service go well?" he asked of Syal. The small Bajoran female nodded her head. "It did. Lanair didn't complain or protest like she did the last time."

"That's because the kids are still growing, still learning about your faith."
Yeager explained with a nod of his head. "They are still learning about it, same as I'm still learning about it," he commented. "I regret that my knowledge is quite weak."

"That's fine," Duran answered. "I have faith and that's all I really require. You keep an open mind and thus, it works itself out." as she looked up at him. Yeager gently brushed her bangs out of her eyes. "I do. I have no need to not keep an open mind on the subject."

Duran smiled as she regarded her husband. "I appreciate that you looked after my shrine on the Fe'garren. I was unsure if you would leave it alone or dismantle it."

"It's not mine to disturb. I look after it... Syal. I married a Bajoran, which means I married into her faith. I have to keep an open mind... Besides, the land and the people are one..."

Duran recognized the old saying for what it was meant to mean and meant to say. "I appreciate that," she answered. "So... How long are you in for.?"

"Ten days... I imagine it's the same with you." Yeager answered quietly.

The shorter Bajoran nodded her head. "Captain Donos was kind enough to let me schedule it so we could spend some time together."

"Now that's really nice of him." Yeager grinned at his spouse. "Come on, let's go spend some time with our children, and be a family that's together for a little while."

"Sounds good to me," Duran answered.
