Mission: Mission 96: Settling Accounts
Location: Various Locations - USS Argonne
Timeline: 0900Hrs, September 6th, 2392

Master Chief Petty Officer Victoria Yamaguchi smiled as she was sitting in the interrogation room. She was facing the tall Bajoran female before her. "So. Ms. Tienn. What am I doing here?"

"You are here to help me with recent events," she commented as Celeste giggled. "She looks like me." she indicated Victoria who was nearby.

"Black hair isn't your type," Victoria commented to her doppelganger. "You might consider trying dark red," she added in a gentle tone. "It'll bring out your eyes."

Celeste smiled. "Nah. I try not to mess with my hair too much," she commented. "So. Ms. Hobbs, you comfy?" Celeste addressed Gail Hobbs before she glanced at the woman who was her wife, seated next to her. "So Bri. Still, think I'm insane?" she asked, clearly enjoying herself at her wife's expense.

"Very much so," Brianna replied, in a flat tone of voice. "Victoria just doesn't hide it as well as you."

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "I'm.. not quite sure of how to take that." she paused. "I mean should I be offended or not?"

Victoria regarded her twin. "Take it as it is meant to be taken, a little light-hearted banter. You have so much to learn," she commented before she grinned at her twin.

Tienn Kerris regarded the small group. "Alright. Now that we are all here. Ms. Hobbs, how about you start by telling us a little about yourself and what you do for a living?" she commented to Gail Hobbs.

"I'm a doctor. I heal people. I got stuck in the military and couldn't get out." Gail told her.

"Okay," Tienn responded. "What would you do if you were stuck here and forced to integrate." she inquired while indicating Hobbs. "Could you handle being related to the Colonel here?"

"To be honest, I can't answer that until I know more about your universe," Gail told them. "I don't know anything about my double here. I could never pick up a weapon and possibly hurt another creature. Colonel," Gail stated the title with disgust in her voice, "Does that sort of thing for a living."

Celeste turned to Brianna before she turned to Gail. "Brianna and violent is not what I would use in the same sentence Gail," she commented lightly. "She spends more time with the children than I do. I work full-time hours but Brianna more or less makes her own hours."

Enyo shrugged. "Maybe have Brianna and Gail go planetside for a day or two. No major distractions or resorts. just them on an island somewhere out in the middle of nowhere."

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "Not a bad idea.. the holodeck could suffice for this as well."

"I don't know..." Brianna replied. "She is a pacifist. They tend to be a fairly self-righteous lot."

Gail turned her nose up. "Sounds like your trying to justify the blood on your hands. I'm sure you killed people with your guns."

"Yes, I have," Brianna replied flatly. "I didn't always use a gun. I killed a Jem'Hadar with his own blade." Brianna's words made Gail turn a greenish color.

Celeste regarded Gail Hobbs. "What about her?" she indicated Enyo. "Do you two get along?" she inquired. "What do you make of me?" she added.

"We rarely came into contact," Gail told her. "You do seem to be more stable than Master Chief Yamaguchi."

Celeste smiled. "Would you like to know why Gail?" she said quietly.

"No, I'm sure I know the answer," Gail replied.

"Do you?" Celeste inquired. "Then please, tell us how you know this?"

Gail stared at Celeste. "I know the Empire forces people to conform to its twisted goals. It will use brutality and little humanity to make us obey. It is soulless and the gears of its war machine are lubricated with the blood of the innocent. There are few of us not scarred by its methods."

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "No." she answered simply. "Why do I look and act more stable than the Master Chief?" she indicated Enyo who was sitting nearby, a wide grin on her lips. "Gail.." she added, to prod the other woman.

"I just explained it to you," Gail told her. "You haven't been beaten down by our government."

"No. But I was beaten down by someone else. That's how Jackson came to exist. It was with her help that I was able to get through it." Celeste explained as she indicated Brianna Hobbs. "Bri has been my rock that I have clung to for the better part of a year now," she explained. "Victoria over there just hates all things of the Empire and I honestly do not blame her for that." she paused a moment. "Could you?"

"I'm sorry that happened to you. What happened to the man who violated you?" Gail asked.

"He's dead," Celeste answered. "Ro'cholk was his name," she added with a soft sigh.

"If you were permitted the chance to stay in this reality and go on with life. What would you do?... Knowing that they could come here at any time or place?" Victora inquired of Gail Hobbs. "I have seen this reality, it's a lot nicer than the one we left behind." she paused. "The uniforms are more comfortable and the footwear is great, my feet feel pampered."

"Our reality is a lost one. They will kill each other if someone else doesn't do it first." Gail told her.

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "That's very true, from what I've seen and heard," she responded.

Victoria paused then she decided to come out with it. "I plan on remaining here. I know the Empire will come for me if I do and I intend to be ready for that eventuality."

"If you went back, they will kill you," Gail told her. "We either come back victorious or not bother showing our faces anymore. There is no place for failure. You know that."

"Yes. So do you." Celeste was the one who answered. "But we have their tech now and we're going over it with a fine-toothed comb. Finding out how it works and the like."

Gail addressed Celeste. "I have no intention of going back. My choices are sit in a jail cell here or face death if I return. Which, of course, really isn't much of a choice."

Tienn regarded Hobbs. "Well you might be in jail for less time than you think," she commented. "I can't get you for anything. You didn't try to impersonate the Colonel. That was an accident as others assumed that you." she indicated Gail and then indicated Brianna as she spoke. "were her." she finished.

Enyo spoke up. "Considering what we face when we return home. You could claim refugee status. I have it on good authority that Talon Yamaguchi and Torilla Unal did so. They are presently serving in this universes Starfleet."

"Talon Yamaguchi is dead," Gail responded.

"Actually. No." Celeste answered. "She's not. Neither of them is. Both of them are alive and well." she then smiled. "Talon Yeager has just had her babies. Twins or so I am told. Unfortunately, Astrid couldn't be here for this as she's on assignment but she sends her regards." she added.

"No disrespect meant for the other woman but I don't know who she is. I am glad that Talon is alive." Gail told them. "If you were to let me go, I have no idea where I would go. I wouldn't stay in Star Fleet. I'm tired of the killings."

"No," Celeste answered quietly. "Both women were called Talon." she smiled. "Your Talon decided to go by a new name so she would be prepared for trouble. Astrid is her name these days."

"Oh, I didn't know that. I thought she was dead." Gail told him. "I might go home to visit my family here."

"You can't," Brianna told her. "They're dead. The planet is in a state of civil war."

"What?" Gail was shocked. "The colony was prosperous when I left."

Celeste shook her head. "Not in this reality," she commented softly. "I, myself, the four kits and Jackson are all the family she has left."

"Oh," Gail thought for a moment. "Then I really don't have a place to go." She said in a resigned voice.

"Why don't you stay with us?" Brianna asked. "We could make you feel at home?"

"I...I...just don't know," Gail replied.

Celeste smiled. "Sure. I'd like that," she commented. "You could stay with us. At least give us a chance to prove that we are not the same as the people you left behind," she added. "I'll introduce you to Marie and her family."

If I may, I would like a few weeks to myself. To get used to this new place I'm in." She replied.

Tienn nodded her head. "I think that can be arranged," she responded. "Your situation will be in a state of flux going forward as we have no idea of what to do with you. We've had refugees from other nation states but not from other realities until now." she paused. "I can't really get you for anything so I'm more or less forced to let you go," Tienn added. "You're free to go."

"Thank you but where do I go?" Gail asked. "My home colony is in a state of war and I have relatives."

"Then stay here," Celeste answered. "Get to know us and let us get to know you," she commented quietly. "You are family to her which means you are kin to me."

Tienn indicated Enyo. "Since she claimed refugee status, her paperwork is presently being processed. I assume you know where you wanna go.?" the tall Bajoran inquired of Enyo.

"I'm going into Special Forces. It's all I got left." Victoria responded in a gentle tone of voice. "Besides, I'm good at it and I enjoy my work."

Celeste regarded her twin. "You are still family. Will you at least try to get to know us?"

"Of course. I never imagined I'd ever find myself sitting here with a family beyond counting, however, she's right-" Victoria indicated Gail as she spoke. "I need to find my place in this new world. For now, however, that's in special forces." Enyo paused. "In time, however, that might change."

Celeste nodded. "You'll always be family." Even though Celeste herself had her issues with her twin, she buried them for the sake of all involved.

Tienn handed Enyo a PADD. "That's all the information you'll need for your next assignment. Until then. You are free to go."

Victoria rose to her feet in one smooth, almost lazy fashion before she blew Gail Hobbs a kiss. "Thank you! I'm gonna miss you, Gail! Thank you for your hospitality, Tienn!." and with that, she departed out the entrance and was gone.

Celeste held her silence a moment. "Oh I have a feeling we'll see her again," she commented quietly. "Real soon."

"She seems to have adapted rather well," Gail spoke up.

Celeste nodded her head. "What kept her going was the promise that she'd see her family again, even if it was in the next world. Now that she's in this reality permanently, she gets to see them all, more brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and a small swarm of cousins, nieces, and nephews for her to know and enjoy." she sighed softly. "That was all Victoria ever really wanted. Now that she has that, she will protect her family with whatever it takes because she feels she owes me and Marie, a debt of gratitude."

"I'm glad for her," Gail stated sincerely.

Tienn regarded Hobbs. "Well. I got nothing I can hold you for either," she answered. "So you're free to go as well," she commented, a gentle smile on her lips. "I wish all my cases were so easily resolved, Ms Hobbs."

"Thank you," Gail told Tienn. "It's odd. A few days ago all I wanted to do was get away from the military. Now that I'm free to leave, I have nowhere to go. I mean, thank you for your kind offer to stay here but what would I do?"

"Well, we do have a very serious medical shortage at the present time," Tienn explained. "We're presently trying to deassimilate several million drones, we also have a massive refugee crisis with billions of people to house, clothe, comfort and resettle." she paused. "I'm considering sticking in my name to adopt a Caitian child. I can give one a good home with plenty of siblings." The tall Bajoran female smiled. "My siblings are sticking in their names too."

Celeste smiled. "I have four already and I'm considering sticking in for more after I get things sorted out with Jackson, a newborn in the house is exhausting work. it's killing my sex life." as she nodded to her wife. "What of you?" she inquired of Brianna. "You want a couple more kits?" she inquired, a zesty grin on her lips.

"We can barely handle what we have!" Brianna replied. "No, no more kits."

"Aww," Celeste responded. "Aww well, easy come, easy go," she added with a soft sigh. "But like the lady said, Gail. We have plenty of need for medics of your caliber. But I would ask that wherever you go, keep in touch as you are family."

"Thank you. I'll consider helping out." Gail told her.

"Thank you," Celeste responded.

Tienn regarded the human before her. "Well I have nothing else for you, Ms. Hobbs, I can't hold you for anything so, I'm going to cut you loose but before you go. I'd like to give you some paperwork about if you want to remain in our Starfleet or become a civilian." as the Bajoran female presented a PADD. "Feel free to look it over in your own time or you can fill it out now," she commented as she placed it in front of Hobbs. "Victora is remaining in Starfleet as is the other Talon."

"I'm not surprised," Gail replied. "They always seemed like duty first type women. "I'll fill out the PaDD now, please. I'm not full on options right now."

Tienn nodded her head as she selected the PADD she wanted with a wave of her hand, her fingers lightly brushing aside the PADDs on the table before she lifted it and gently handed it to Hobbs. "Here you go. mostly the simple stuff. But if you had a copy of your service record, that would help greatly."

"I think my personal record is on one of these," Gail told Tienn.

Tienn leafed through the PADD's before her quickly. "Ahh here we are." as she picked up the PADD. "Mmmm.. " as she began to read through it. "Gail, if you did decide to remain in Starfleet, I know of two dozen Captain's who would want you on their ships as their Chief Medical officer."

Celeste nodded. "You are more qualified than my present Chief Medical Officer."

"Thank you for the vote of confidence Commander," Gail replied. She didn't know if Celeste was being genuine but at least she was nice. "I should find a ship that needs my help. I need to find a place here."

"You should do that, but at least get to know me and Brianna," Celeste responded. "I don't think Brianna would mind having a new sibling, I know I certainly wouldn't. Even if I think Enyo is terrifying or that Courtney is broken," she added, referring to the new names that Marie and Victoria had chosen for themselves. "I know Victoria will do well for herself. Its Courtney that I'm worried about."

"Why do you say that she is broken?" Gail asked.

Celeste regarded Hobbs, the woman who looked like her wife but had a softer look and a thinner figure because Celeste was ready to bet good money that this woman was badly malnourished. "Because. Warhowl as you know her, she was a scientist and a geek. In the right setting, she would flourish."

However, she was made an offer and sent to fight a war she wanted no part of. Plus there was her sexual assault at the hands of a Lieutenant on your former crew who was apparently killed in revenge by your ships Chief of security. He is at large by the way, no idea of where he is."

"You mean Ajax or his toady Hular?" Gail asked.

"No. We have Lieutenant Hular. He wants to sign on with us." Tienn explained. "I'm having him undergo a full series of exams, medical and otherwise to see if he is fit for the job. Ajax is gone, where he has gone. I cannot say." the tall Bajoran female smiled.

"I think Hular is more of the wild card you need to be concerned with. Ajax may be a rage machine but at least he is a predictable rage machine."

Tienn slowly grinned. "I'm watching him very carefully," she responded. "It helps his new twin brother is interested in him."
