Mission: Mission 94: Shattered Shields and Crack'd Swords
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 12
Timeline: July 14th 2392

Leadfoot walked into his and Moni Nasao's quarters, having just finished packing up their things. The pair, along with their children were due to leave with Teval and a number of the other crew to go to their new assignment. Of course, he still had about an hour to kill before they were scheduled to leave, as neither he nor Moni had a lot of things.

Ki'Skye sat in a char, next to the basket which held Leadfoot and Moni's six-week-old kits. Ki'Skye herself had one of them in her arms, purring away. None of the kits had opened their eyes yet, however, they were due to in about two weeks.

Moni Nasao was lying on the sofa, she had her eyes closed as she was enjoying the moment of being left to herself for a few moments. "How long before we leave?" she inquired of Leadfoot since she heard him enter the room.

Leadfoot checked the time. "In about an hour or so."

Moments later the door chime went off, and Leadfoot answered the door, only to see Rykar standing there, with three other snow leopard type Caitians.

"Rykar, what brings you here," He asked.

Rykar held out a PADD, replying. "We found Ki'Skye's three siblings, you did say you were willing to adopt them."

Nasao heard the words from the door, moments went by as the large female sprang to her paws before she moved to the door. "Yes." she regarded Rykar at the door. "Do come in, please," she commented as she nodded to Leadfoot. "Ki'Skye. We have guests." Nasao added.

Ki'Skye set Jalen down and looked at the guests. Instantly she recognized them. She quickly got to her feet and ran over to her three siblings, immediately hugging all three of them, and bringing them all to the ground. Leadfoot looked at Ky'skye who was cuddling with her three siblings, while commenting," Well, someone is happy."

Nasao smiled. "Well, she has good cause to be. What say we give them a moment?" she regarded Leadfoot as she indicated where the other children were located.

Rykar then held out a PADD. "Well I need you two to sign this custody form and they are all yours."

Leadfoot took the form first and signed it, then handed it off to Moni.

Nasao accepted the PADD, she gave it the once over before she too, signed it and then she handed it back to Rykar. "Thanks for finding them and delivering them to us." she indicated Ki'Skye and her siblings who were catching up.

Rykar then added, "Alright, well we are scheduled to begin boarding our transports in forty-five minutes. My final destination will be the shipyards in the Caitian home system, where our now ship is waiting for us. I don't know where yours is." Rykar left the area, leaving the caitian family to catch up.

Nasao nodded her head. "Okay. Forty-five minutes. We'll be on time." she paused. "I hope." she then smiled. "Ki'Skye?" she turned her head. "You packed and ready to go?" Nasao inquired of her daughter.

Ki'Skye nodded, only partially paying attention to Moni, as her attention was mostly focused on her siblings. She couldn't help but show them Moni and leadfoot's four six week old kits, and predictably, Ki'Skye's three siblings thought that the little ones were adorable.

Nasao watched in silence as she regarded the kits before her. "Well." she paused. "Kthaara. We'll be late," she commented. "Let's check to make sure everything is packed. We don't need to forget anything before we leave."

"Can you really blame them," Leadfoot remarked, "I mean, they haven't seen each other in many months."

"Of course not." Nasao smiled. "If I were separated from my siblings at that age, I'd react the same way. I imagine you would too." she paused. "Did we forget anything?" she paused.

Leadfoot did a quick check around then answered," We have everything ready."

Ki'Skye couldn't resist showing her three siblings the four small caitian kits whom where lying in the basket. Predictably they found the kits absolutely adorable.

Nasao smiled. "Alright," she answered. "Well before we go, let's make sure everyone gets a good meal and goes to the bathroom," she commented. "Nothing worse than needing to go and being unable to."

Nasao went over to the small gathering of Caitian children. "Hey kits," she commented with a smile. "Have you guys eaten yet?" she asked the new arrivals.

Skrer's stomach rumbled at that moment, prompting him to say," Um, yeah it has been a little while."

Nasao smiled. "Well, come on over here you guys and let's get you a decent meal," she commented. "I don't know what you guys like, or want to eat so. Let's get you fed."

Leadfoot scooped up Skrer, who was the smallest of the four, he placed the young Caitan on his shoulders, and the whole group followed Moni to the kitchen. Leadfoot then suggested. "Eh, I say just introduce them to the basics."

"Okay. Fish in a sauce." Nasao commented. "You guys want some fish or goat?" she inquired with a smile. "Let's see... What about a gently flavored sauce?" she paused. "How about some mushroom sauce?"

The three newcomers weren't sure what to say, with Skrer commenting. "Whats a mushroom."

"Its a fungus," Nasao explained. "I'll replicate you guys something and see what you think." she paused as she rattled off the name of a large dish in Caitian. It was a half-dozen diced up steaks in a pasta style sauce. "Here you go, try these and let me know what you think but.. guys, eat slowly."

Oskoa and Vakella both listened and went through their food slowly, however, Skrer didn't know what the meaning of the word slow was, and attacked his steak rather savagely. Of course, none of the three even knew what forks and knives where all of them simply used their claws.

Nasao regarded the children in silence before she commented. "Well, two out of three ain't bad," she commented. "So.. how is it?" she inquired of them, fully expecting them to miss her question. "No?"

Leadfoot watched casually as the kids had their fill. "I think they like it."

"It was just a starter dish," Nasao commented. "I figured I'd start light. Like you said."

Leadfoot gave Skrer a rub behind the ears, earning a purr in response, "Well, it was a good idea."

Nasao watched as the children finished demolishing the food. "I assume you guys have not had a decent home cooked meal.?"

Ki'skye then mentioned. "Yeah, we never did have luxurious meals like this when we were under the 'care' of the Klingons."

"That and the OISU has largely only been able to supply field rations in order to meet the demands of the current refugee crisis," Leadfoot added.

Nasao regarded her mate in silence before she nodded. "I am gonna feed you guys real food," she commented. "Well as real as it gets from the replicator." she paused. "I have.. nothing nice to say about the Klingons..." she regarded the children. "So, you guys finished?" she inquired. "We will need to be leaving shortly and I wanna make sure everyone uses the bathroom before we go."

I'm fine," Ki'Skye mentioned. Oskoa then asked, "What do we need to use the bathroom for."

Nasao paused. "Oh." she let out a soft sigh. "Right, you guys are not potty trained. You're used to going outside for your bathroom breaks."
she regarded Leadfoot. "Well. This is a problem." she sighed. "That one got by me."

"well, we succeeded with Ki'Skye so we should be able to get these three caught up to speed pretty quickly too," Leadfoot added.

"Yeah, but having someone accusing us of something stupid while in transit is not something we need," Nasao responded in a gentle tone. "You know how stupid and ignorant others can be." she let out a soft sigh. "Alright, how many of you need to go pee?" she inquired.

Skrer, Oskoa, and Vakella all nodded their heads, while Leadfoot checked the time," Well we still have a good 20 minutes to go."

"Right then. Right this way. I'll show you how the bathroom works so you guys can go without peeing in a corner." Nasao explained. "This way kits."
