Tienn tapped her combadge as she turned to look up at Balin. "I dunno," she muttered softly. "Maybe it's nothing."

Balin regarded her in silence before he broke said silence. "and maybe its something. But if so, do not blame yourself mother for the actions of others like a remorseful pardon slowly carried." he said in a quiet tone of voice. "The others are asleep. I made dinner for them while you were gone."

"Thank you for helping me with them. It's been a challenge for all of us to get to know each other. You guys have already been through so much and I just want to give you a decent home." Tienn sighed softly. "I know you have your issues with K'taro."

"You have given us that and so much more, we are safe here and they wanted to catch up on their rest, they know they are safe in so far as the term permits," Balin explained with a gentle smile. "They will adjust in time. I can have an education, they can have a good nights sleep and all will be alright." Balin paused as he gently took her small hand in his large one before he paused. "As for K'taro, he and I will get to know each other in time." Balin shrugged. "He will return victorious or not at all, besides you are the one dating him and not me." he then smiled. "Do not doubt yourself, mom, it's not a good thing."

"No, it's not, big man," Tienn responded as the com system buzzed at her. "Security Team Six to Tienn. I'm Sorry Major, we found him and we're rushing him to sickbay now but, it doesn't look good." came the unexpected explanation.

"What happened?" Tienn's response was automatic.

"We're not sure, but we'll be looking into it." came the half-expected response. "Do you have the Lieutenant's child?"

"I do," Tienn answered. "I'll keep Alex with me for now until his family can be informed and they can decide what they wanna do." the Bajoran female sighed softly. "I wish he had told me what was going on..." Tienn added, more to herself than anyone else.

"I'm sorry Major." came the unexpected response.

"I'll be alright," Tienn responded in a gentle tone of voice as Balin gently placed his hand on her shoulder, it was meant as a gesture of reassurance. Tienn sighed softly. "Let me go have a look at the personnel roster," she commented to Balin.

Balin moved aside before he went over to the replicator, he ordered two drinks as Tienn Nerra moved to her workstation that she had set up in her home. She sat down before she took a moment to make herself comfortable as she hesitated. Balin sat down next to her as he placed the drink he had requested for her, down on the table before her.

Tienn tapped the display. "Computer, display Lieutenant Jack Ash-Tor's file." and the relevant information was displayed for her. "Okay." she mused aloud as the Bajoran gently slid her fingers over the display as she began seeking the information that she was seeking. "Okay so Jack has no siblings." she mused softly. "He has both parents but nobody else," Tienn said aloud.

"Do you think they will take in their grandsire?" Balin inquired.

"I honestly have no idea," Tienn admitted quietly. "But for now, we're stuck with him." she turned her head. "Will you be okay with that?"

"It'll be fine. You are with child, There are the six other Caitian children we have and I know you want more with K'taro." Balin explained evenly.
"One more won't be a large problem," Balin added.

"Thank you," Tienn responded. "I'll wait until Admiral Ash-toe gets the notice of his son's death, he might contact me to see about his grandson and if he takes Alex then that's fine. I won't fight him on the subject. I'm just fostering him until further notice."

Balin smiled. "We will take good care of him until then." he responded.
