The Adoption of Tienn Nerra

Mission: Mission 94: Shattered Shields and Crack'd Swords
Location: Various Locations - USS Lancaster
Timeline: 1400Hrs - June 13th, 2392

Major Tienn Nerra sighed softly as she regarded the display before her. "Fuck I got used to being on Watchman Station." as she lifted the PADD in front of her, one of sixty on her desk, she began to read it. "Second Squadron, First company wants a holiday ham that's been cooked." she raised an eyebrow as she signed off, yes on the request as she simply assumed it was for an obscure Terran holiday and not someone fucking with her.

She finished PADD one moment later when suddenly the comm system beeped at her.

Akaris had decided to do a followup on the people who had submitted their names for adopting Ferasians. One of them was Tienn Nerra. So she got straight to the point when she got a connection. "Tienn Nerra, are you still interested in adopting Ferasian Children."

Tienn blinked as she realized that she had forgotten all about that. "Ahh. Yes. Yes, I do." she answered quickly. "I'd forgotten about that but. Yes. I am still interested. Now that you mention it."

"Alright, well then you need to complete, several forms," Akaris mentioned as she worked her command console, "I'm sending you the relevant forms to fill out, then I'll be over when you are done."

Tienn tapped her display. "I have them, I'm done with my paperwork so I'll get started right away and feel free to drop by anytime. I don't bite and I'm not allergic to anything... I think." the last was clearly a joke. As she talked. Tienn called up the files on her desktop computer and went to work on them. "Let's see.. allergies.. living accommodations.. nutrition," she muttered softly as she worked.

There was a soft knock on her door. "It's open," Tienn called out.

The door opened and in came her Beta shift counterpart. "Hey Major. You forget the time?" the young woman inquired, with a wide smile on her face.

Tienn liked working with Captain Jessica Shinobhan as she smiled back at the other woman. "Oh. shift change. No, I remembered." the look on her face said otherwise.

"No worries. I got this, you go on and get outta here." the Captain said as Tienn gathered her PADDs and went home to continue her homework.

Upon reaching her quarters. Tienn walked into the second bedroom, she was suddenly grateful that she had requested family sized quarters and not the single units she had been living in before. She began removing the single bed before she replaced it with four thick and heavy mattresses. She then added more suitable pillows that Caitians would normally prefer and she added over a half dozen blankets too.

Tienn had the third bedroom as her own while the master bedroom was unclaimed, she decided that she would move any would-be children into that room while she kept the smaller bedroom for herself and the second bedroom for her soon-to-be child and a study for herself.

Tienn heard a knock at the door about an hour or so after she had gotten home. She was now wearing a pair of jean shorts, a simple t-shirt but no shoes or socks. "Come in!" Tienn called. "It's open!" she added.

Akaris and Tezika walked in the room, both of them casually looking around the room as they approached Tienn. Behind them were a larger teenage tiger Caitian and six small, cute seven-year-old cougar like Caitians.

Tienn turned her head as she regarded her new arrivals. "Well. This is different." she paused. "What can I do for you guys?" the Bajoran inquired.

"We are here to do this adoption review," Akaris mentioned simply.

"Okay," Tienn responded quietly. "Come on in. I have been preparing for you guys. I was doing some homework on the proper caring and feeding of Caitians and I think I got things set up enough for these guys." she commented. "I have a request for larger quarters if these are not adequate in size," she commented. "The little guys will have my old room and the large Caitian will have his own space. I'll have the second bedroom as I don't need a lot of space. They are six and I am one so they can have the master bedroom." Tien explained herself and her quarters.

Akaris nodded. "OK, well one thing to keep in mind is that Caitians, in general, do not need much in the way of clothing so closet space can be converted for other uses."

"Fair enough. They have fur so I have no interest in making them wear clothing, it just seems foolish to me." she shrugged her shoulders. "I wear clothing to prevent getting cold but I don't have fur." she smiled. "I just have a few things to learn about Caitian dietary requirements so I can cook them real food, with the assistance of the replicator. I intend to show these guys what their home could be."

"Well they need it," Tezika mentioned as she looked at the Caitians, "They haven't exactly had a good home so far."

Tienn nodded. "Yes. I read the various reports my siblings submitted about their situation," she responded. "Well. I will consider it going forward." she then addressed the seven kits. "Welcome to my hearth and home children. Would you guys like to see your new accommodations?" she inquired of the children.

Akaris and Tezika then went on to conduct their inspection, leaving Tienn to get acquainted with the kids. After about 10 minutes, Akaris then said to Tienn. "Alright, you're cleared, I just need you to fill out this form."

Tienn accepted the form as she gave it the once over. "Let's see... You guys want this now or no?"

"Preferably now," Akaris answered.

"Okay." as the small Bajoran gave the paperwork the once over. "Let's see.." she tapped the display once as she went about filling it out. When she was finished the handed the PADD back to Akaris. "Here you go."

Tienn's two guests accepted the paperwork before departing. The small Bajoran turned back to her new charges. "Alright kits. Who's hungry?. and we can all introduce ourselves," she commented. "Let me introduce you to one of my favored dishes. Steak... Oh, you'll love this kits..." Tienn said with a wide smile on her lips.
