Mission:
Mission 88: We Must have Bloody Noses and Crack'd Crowns
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 0630Hrs - June 8th, 2392
The time was zero six hundred hours as the alarm clock started wailing as it so often did. Brianna wasn't home tonight as she was working late so she crashed in her own quarters over on the USS Argonne which honestly didn't bother Celeste in the least. She knew her wife was a busy woman and she didn't begrudge her in the least.
Celeste opened her eyes as one day now bled into the next and she was tired most of the time, her energy was going into preparing to give birth to her son which she was expecting to do any day now.
"It's almost over." Celeste Yamaguchi muttered as she slowly sat up in bed. "I feel like someone has used me for target practice." as she gently picked herself up and got out of bed, she gently touched the alarm clock to silence its deafening tone.
"I'm awake already..." she muttered to herself as she went into the shower, she had just turned it on when she felt a soft wet liquid beginning to trickle down her leg. "Wow. So this is what having no bladder control feels like.." she sighed softly as she turned on the water and stepped inside.
Celeste gently began washing her body as she normally did every single morning as she began singing to herself in the shower. It was part of her morning ritual as she felt the first contraction hit her, she looked down at her large belly. "So... Its time.." she commented softly before she finished in the shower.
She stepped out and began to dry off before she donned her clothing which in this case was the uniform with a skirt rather than a pair of pants. She had already secured a change of clothing in sickbay a few weeks earlier in anticipation of this event.
Yamaguchi sighed softly, she missed the three young Caitian children who she had taken into her heart and her home. She hoped that they were alright as she finished donning her clothing. Yamaguchi then proceeded to have breakfast as she wanted something that would fill her but take a long time for her to digest.
Yamaguchi sighed to herself. "I fucking hate this endless shit." before she set off to face the nightmare that she was sure today would become.
Yamaguchi entered sickbay a few minutes later as she regarded Lt Commander Tanya Stevenson. "Hey... You got a minute?" she sighed softly.
"Sure Celeste. Whats up?" Stevenson inquired with a smile.
"Bring your medical kit. I want a second opinion as I already gave the first to myself.." Yamaguchi responded before the two women stepped into her office.
Stevenson followed Celeste into her office before she gave the taller, heavily pregnant woman a quick once over with her tricorder. "Celeste... You are indeed having your baby now."
"Okay." Celeste smiled. "Alright... so I guess you'll be hooking me up to all the toys in here?"
"Some of them, yes." Stevenson smiled. "Come on. I'll get you set up." and with that, she led Celeste down the hallway, moments later Celeste was seated in a chair as she could focus on her impending birth of her son who was on his way. "Could you call Colonel Hobbs over on the Argonne... She should be in her office planning for various operations.."
"Yeah... I'll go call her." and with that Stevenson tapped her combadge. "Dreamcrusher to Argonne.. can I speak with Colonel Hobbs please?"
LaMonica's voice came back. "Yeah will do." moments later a second female voice came over the com system. "Hello, Colonel. Your wife in the hospital, having her baby... I thought you should know.."
Brianna took a second to respond. "Wait, what?" She asked confusingly. "Um, acknowledged. I'm on my way to the Dreamcrusher now."
Yamaguchi meanwhile was focusing on her breathing as she felt a wave of pain wash through her. "Ohh... dammit this hurts!"
"You're doing well Celeste. Keep going." the nurse encouraged her.
"Yeah. Let's get this show on the road." Celeste responded while she breathed in and then out.
Brianna ran from the Dreamcrusher's transporter room to sickbay. She was stopped by the duty nurse. "My wife is having her child." Brianna struggled to say as she was out of breath.
The nurse smiled. "Ahh. Right this way Colonel." as the young Andorian Zhen went over to the replicator and got a glass of water. "For you."
Once the older human was finished with the glass, the nurse led the Colonel into the birthing room where Commander Celeste Yamaguchi looked tired and sweaty, from her work. "Hey.." she greeted her wife.
Yamaguchi sighed softly as she felt her contractions come and go, soon she was bearing down as her son was now being born. "I can see the head." the nurse commented with a smile.
Yamaguchi sighed softly as she had long since lost track of the time that had elapsed but it felt like she had been sitting in this chair for so long, parts of her body were numb. "Push Celeste."
Yamaguchi whimpered softly as she gritted her teeth and pushed, suddenly she almost felt lightheaded for a moment as the nurse commented. "I have him.." as the nurse separated the umbilical cord, connecting mother to child. Stevenson smiled. "Your son is now a separate being.."
"Do you have a name?"
"Jackson," Celeste responded quietly as she gently received her infant, Celeste smiled. "Hey sweetie.." she said quietly. "Welcome Jackson..."
she said quietly.
The infant cried in response, an indication that he was alive and well, Celeste for her part simply enjoyed the moment with her new child outside of her body. "Well, Bri... I need to hit the gym now... Looks like we'll be spending time working out together.."
"Ah... He is so healthy and cute." Brianna replied. She gave Celeste a smile. "I wouldn't worry about the gym for awhile. I think you'll have your hands full with little Jackson here."
Celeste could only moan softly but she received her son from the doctors and medics fussing over the two of them. Celeste regarded her son as she felt her heart melt as he opened his eyes at her, they were a lovely shade of blue, a shade lighter then azure but they spoke volumes as the newly born child regarded her. Celeste looked back at her son as everyone else seemed to fade from her perception.
