Stopping at the Guidepost

Location: USS Shinano - Command Bridge
Timeline: 1000Hrs Local Time - May 6th, 2392

Division Admiral Talon Yeager smiled as she was handed the PADD she had been expecting for the last hour or so, it confirmed what she already knew, that a supply convoy was coming to where her Squadron was located, it was to reload the ships around her and deliver supplies and items needed so that Shinano and her group could still fight.

Suddenly the communications officer whose name she had forgotten turned to her. "Admiral, you have an incoming message, it's coded as personal."

"Thanks.." Talon gently tapped the display before her, it unfurled from the desk as she nodded. "I'll take it here.." Yeager added quietly.

"Patching you through." the young man responded as if reciting from a script.

An image of Commander Harmon Rabb Junior appeared on the screen before her. "Talon. I know you don't get a lot of time to waste so I'll keep this brief," he commented as he regarded her with a smile.

"I always have time for you Harm... What's up?" Yeager inquired with a wide smile.

"Well. I wanted to be the one to let you know that the paperwork you submitted almost two months ago has been approved. Davijaan Yeager is listed now as the guardian of your children, his adoption request came through and it's been approved." Rabb smiled as he sat back in the chair of whatever duty station he was at.

Talon blinked as she had not been expecting a response for another couple of months at the earliest. "Why so fast?" Yeager inquired, sounding oddly confused.

"Well. I already interviewed the shit out of everyone... With that child custody case so I figured that this request was going to come across my desk... What can I say?" Rabb smiled at her. "I like to anticipate things... and in your case... Well it was easy...."

"Thank you.." Talon smiled warmly at the Commander who smiled back at her. "For everything.."

"You're welcome Talon... Oh and please give Captain Yeager my regards... and Talon... Congratulations on getting married ... I confess I made a lot of money betting on you two." Rabb added with a wide grin.

"Wait.. you bet on me?" Yeager inquired, raising an eyebrow in surprise.

"What?. That you would marry Captain Yeager before everything was sorted out and I won two hundred bars of latinum. Hey, I work with some boring people... they bet on everything... I won a small fortune thanks to you two."

"Okay.." Talon gently smiled as she regarded the man she was talking to. "No divorce happening here this time... All looks to be well between us."

"That's wonderful news. All things considered." Rabb responded. "In any event, I wanted to let you know the news... Rabb out." and with that, the screen went back as Talon tapped the display, it quickly retracted out of sight back into the console before her. Yeager smiled as she tapped her combadge. "Yeager to Yeager. Davijaan. Would you mind stepping in here?. Please and thanks. I just got some good news for a change and your name is all over it."

Talon's husband's response was quick and prompt. "I'm on my way."
