Posted on Tue Mar 10th, 2020 @ 7:16am by Fleet Captain Racheal Yamaguchi & Lieutenant Commander Calliope Pravdin-Burgoyne & Master Sergeant Braelynn "Shadow" Di'Tomasso & Gunnery Sergeant Odessa "Smoke" Martell

Mission: Mission 84: The Ghastly Echoes of Vietnam
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1400Hrs - April 24th, 2392

Master Sergeant Braelynn "Shadow" Di'Tomasso emerged from the transporter beam alongside her fellow marines into the madhouse that was the medical bay of the USS Courageous. The place was a madhouse, a sea of marine green next to black and teal medical officers, many of whom looked tired and exhausted against the never-ending causes of wounded from combat with the Klingons on the surface of Goranar.

"What do you have?!" a medical officer, this one a long-haired female with eyes as dead as the Klingon's Di'Tomasso had just killed, regarded the wounded female in Braelynn's arms. "Klingon flamethrower did this... she took a blast to the chest.."

"Right. Put her on the bed. Let me look at her.." Lieutenant Pravdin sighed softly as she went to work. "Are you hurt?"

"Just a slice wound on my arm.."

"The Klingons have been poisoning their blades.." Pravdin responded, her voice sounded like wet ash being ground down. DiTomasso assumed it was due to exhaustion. "Go have a seat over there in the waiting area. Make sure you tell the reception guys you've been in ground combat and they need to do some bloodwork... Just in case you got poisoned."

"Right." she turned. "Anyone who's not wounded. Come on. Anyone who is... Do what these guys tell you to do." DiTomasso then went over to the medical reception area. "Hey.."

"Master Sergent... You alright?"

"I was in a ground fight... I need some blood work."

"Okay.." the young Andorian Shen drew a hypo before she quickly drew a sample of the Orion females blood. "This won't take long Master Sarge," she commented softly. "I'll need one from each of you." The Shen then began taking samples from every single marine present. "How many of you can help as orderlies... We need help badly."

Di'Tomasso nodded. "We can help." she smiled.

The Andorian Shen smiled. "Oh, thank you... Your marines have been a great help... Each of you go and find a Doctor who needs a pair of hands and help them... They'll be working alone."

DiTomasso nodded as she turned. "Go to it guys." As the other marines scattered, the tall Orion turned back to the Andorian Shen. "How bad is it in here?"

"It has been a zoo for hours... " Commander Rachael Haig interrupted as she came past. "You doing anything Master Sarge?"

"No... Not yet." Di'Tomasso responded quietly.

"Good. Come with me!. I have need of you." Haig responded.

Di'Tomasso fell into step as she glanced over at Pravdin who was fighting to save Martel. "Dammit no!" she yelled. "Stay with me!" Pravdin yelled. "Come on Sargent!" as another medic gently placed his hands on Pravdin's shoulders.

Di'Tomasso felt her world simply shatter as she realized that her best friend, her trusted confidant and the only woman she ever called her sister was gone and her worldview simply shattered with frightening force. "Oh god.." as Di'Tomasso suddenly found herself fighting the urge to vomit.

Haig noticed. "Shit!" she snapped as the Andorian Shen who had been helping earlier tossed her a simple garbage can, Haig snatched it out of the air and all but threw it in front of Di'Tomasso as she threw up. "I'm gonna make them. Uhhh.." as she threw up a second time.

Di'Tomasso cried as she threw up what little was left in her system. "I... Uhh.." as she dry heaved the last of her food into the bin before she felt the urge to curl up into a ball on the ground. "Oh god, oh god!" the Orion cried.

Haig opened her medkit as she quickly treated Di'Tomasso for shock. "Easy Master Sarge... It'll be alright."

"No... My best friend just died..." DiTomasso paused. "She was the last thing in the universe I had that was good... Now I have only one mission left... I will... make... them. PAY!" Di'Tomasso seethed with rage and grief.

Haig knew exactly what sort of a motivator this was. "Alright. Let's get you up. Because I have need of you... and I need you here and now Master Sergent. We will deal with our enemies another day.." as the smaller medical officer grasped both of Di'Tomasso's hands. "You hear me!?"

"I do.." Di'Tomasso nodded her head. "Right... Lets... Let's get this done."
