Mission:
Mission 82: It Is War’s Prize to Take All Vantage.
Location: USS Spirit of Winter - R'Merah's Quarters
Timeline: 1000Hrs - April 24th, 2392
Chief Petty Officer R'Merah only recalled the last two days since waking up in the USS Spirit of Winters sickbay, he only knew how to speak various things and that he could dress and generally operate most equipment around him. Try as he might, however, he couldn't remember a damned thing. "So. where is this place?" R'Merah asked the shorter woman before him, he noticed she seemed intimidated and afraid of him, however, he chose not to question Yamaguchi for her reasons as to why.
Autumn Yamaguchi regarded the larger Caitian male. "Well these are your quarters." she indicated the closed door which the two of them approached, she tapped the door release button once, the doors opened before them, the soft swoosh reminded her that she was stepping into the home of a man that she had until yesterday considered her most dangerous enemy.
R'Merah regarded the inside of his old home with a measure of trepidation as he entered. "I..." he paused as he took a moment to think about things but oddly enough, nothing was coming back to him, his old home remained silent and no memories were coming back. "No... Nothing..."
"Don't rush it.." Autumn said in a gentle tone, a soft smile on her face. "Come on in," she added a moment later before she led him into his old home. She went in and then she sat down on one of the four chairs in the main sitting area. "Go on... take a look around."
R'Merah noticed that the quarters were an outright mess as if they were never maintained or the occupant living here was an outright slob of a man. "Whats with all the weaponry?" he mused aloud.
"That's the Klingon style you were raised with. They all but demand you put weapons everywhere." Yamaguchi explained as she watched him with her blue eyes.
R'Merah went through the various rooms but nothing was coming back to him, his mind still remained blank before he found his small office. "Counselor... Look at this."
Yamaguchi hopped off the chair and moved across the room, speedily to his side. "Oh... your office," Yamaguchi responded in flawless Klingon. "Your accent is Federation standard but you speak flawless Klingon... You ever consider learning another language.?"
R'Merah paused. "No... I hadn't," he admitted.
"Well, I mention it only because most people here can't speak Klingon. You are fortunate with me only because I served two tours on the I.K.S. Hurgh'maS." Yamaguchi stopped as she noted the look on his face. "You remember something?"
"Mostly impressions..." R'Merah answered her. "But why are you so afraid of me?" He could no longer let this one go.
"Well. That's a long story." Autumn responded. "and it wasn't you who did it to me.." she added. "Like I said in sickbay yesterday. Be careful when seeking answers to what happened... As you and I served together before and... It did not go well." Yamaguchi thought that this was an understatement of truly epic levels.
R'Merah regarded the smaller woman before him and it was clear that he didn't believe her. "Details please?"
Yamaguchi regarded him with a measured look. "It's unimportant," she answered softly. "Well... At the moment, it is anyway.."
R'Merah regarded her with a look before he sighed. He then sat down at the computer station, he tapped the display once and it prompted him for his password. He turned to her as he shrugged.
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Computer, unlock access to this station. Authorization Yamaguchi Delta Six Eight.."
"Console unlocked." the computer responded in its usual cheery tone.
R'Merah tapped the display. "Display... any personal logs.."
Yamaguchi watched in silence as she sat back down on her chair where she had been sitting in silence, she wished to observe R'Merah while not being intrusive on the matter.
R'Merash regarded all of the logs, there were several hundred so he scrolled to the first one and he tapped it once. "Let's play these, one at a time." and he watched himself come to life, his manners were all wrong and the way he spoke indicated that this was a man before him with a dark streak in him, the log recorded was more or less about R'Merah talking about human females in general and Autumn Yamaguchi in particular.
R'Merah shifted his gaze to the small human female across from him, she had no surprise on her face as she knew he had made some log entries about her but she nodded. "Carry on playing them."
R'Merah continued as he played the second and the third, then the fourth and fifth in quick succession, most were more or less about the same things, how my work day was and thoughts about brutal sex with Autumn Yamaguchi. "I must have hated you," R'Merah admitted. "I can't imagine why... It makes no sense.."
"At present anyway..." Yamaguchi responded. "It was over an argument we had... you and I fought, I insulted you, you followed me out the door and then beat the crap out of me before you raped me."
"Rape.." R'Merah responded before he let out a sigh. "I understand now... why you fear me.."
"But that was then... and you were a different person to how you are now. But you also underwent your own share of abuse..." Yamaguchi explained. "My job is to help you overcome your own demons... so you can move on with your life... " she explained.
"How do you face the man who violated you, day after day...?"
"I honestly don't know," Yamaguchi admitted before she indicated the display with her head. "There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing... You may not like what you find out about yourself."
R'Merah nodded before he played several more log entries. Autumn settled in to watch him as she listened herself. A good amount of the log entries were about her, about how she had come back into his life almost by surprise and how he longed to bed her again.
R'Merah highlighted the last dozen or so entries that he had listened to and he deleted them. "I am not that man anymore.." he stated calmly. "I need to listen to the rest of these... This... could be awhile."
"I have time. You are my only patient at the present time." Yamaguchi responded as she smiled at him.
R'Merah continued playing the log entries, as he heard more and more, he was slowly coming to the realization that he was better off without his memories, as the actions of his previous self-had filled him with a sense of loathing and disgust. As time went by he went down the list until he came to one log entry titled "The day it all went wrong." and it was dated at December 5th, 2391.
Yamaguchi recalled the incident, it was the first assault case and the first time she had counseled R'Merah, she listened to the log entry play out and she noticed R'Merah looking at her. "You tried to help me... Even after what I had done to you."
Yamaguchi regarded him. "That's a matter of opinion R'Merah... I knew you'd want revenge so I sent you after him... I expected you to handle it as your culture... Such as it was... demanded of you..."
R'Merah peered at her. "So.. What happened?"
"Continue with the logs, you will hear what happened from yourself.." she paused as she let out a sigh. "Things go from bad to worse..." she paused. "Hear it from yourself."
R'Merah played the next several logs in sequence as his usually animated and angry entries were replaced with the visage of a sad and broken Caitian who couldn't get his revenge and any time he tried, he was broken and then sexually assaulted for his efforts.
Yamaguchi listened in silence, she had a part in this little drama as well, nor could she deny it to anyone else or even to herself.
R'Merah listened in silence to the man he once was. "I used to be this guy?"
"Yep... Some female Lethian attacked you, she mentally took your memories before she was killed... So they will probably never come back to you."
"Good," R'Merah responded. "This man... He was... I don't know how to put it."
"He was not a kind man, nor was he a gentle soul. He was a man who was brutalized all his life and he got by in life by passing it along to others." Yamaguchi responded as she watched him slip off his uniform. "What?" he asked her. "I don't like it."
"I never said a word." Yamaguchi smiled. "But I'm glad you can move on..."
"I am a Caitian... This uniform, it serves little logical purpose to me... I should let my fur do its job instead, providing nobody will complain."
Yamaguchi regarded him. "We have several Caitians and other felinoid species aboard ship, they walk about in naught but their fur... I doubt they will object to you doing it... But you need to eat more and I recommend you learn Caitian rather than speak Klingon... Consider the Klingon language to be a remnant of the man you once were.."
"I will do so." R'Merah responded quietly. "and I need to do some serious remodeling in here... I don't like all these weapons.." he paused. "Computer, reset the environmental standards in these quarters to normal levels.."
"Confirmed." the computer beeped once as the lighting went up to the normal levels of brightness and the room became a little cooler rather than the sweltering heat that the average Klingon loved.
Yamaguchi indicated one small sword. "Do you have plans for all of these weapons?"
"Yes actually. I will turn them into the armory so the security personnel can benefit from them..." he responded
"Would you object if I could have this blade for myself?"
"Not at all... Take good care of it.."
"I will." and with that Yamaguchi gently plucked the blade and scabbard off of the wall before she slung it over herself, the strap went from right shoulder to left hip.
R'Merah regarded her. "I'm... Sorry.. for what I did to you. So... so sorry..."
Yamaguchi regarded him in silence for a moment. "It was a long time ago and... I came to terms with what happened... I wanted you to face justice... and you faced events far worse than I ever did. You only assaulted me once... LaJosse assaulted you three times and broke numerous bones each time.."
"That doesn't cancel anything... I owe you-"
"You owe me nothing," Yamaguchi responded softly. "I got the closure I sought... Do not blame yourself for the misdeeds of others... You are a new man... Your actions over the last two days have proved this to me..." as she rose to her feet. "Now.. I'm going to get out of here and let you discover who you wish to be and the man you want to become... But you must face this challenge alone... Because you are the one who must live with whats happened. If you need me... I'll be around... Simply call me and I'll come." and with that, the small female took her leave in silence. leaving R'Merah alone to discover himself.
