Mission:
Mission 72: T'Would Ring the Bells of Heaven
Location: Various Locations - USS Argonne
Timeline: 1000Hrs - March 31st, 2392
The Large personal shuttle carrying the new Marines for the Argonne's Headquarters unit was early and Major Tienn Nerra was waiting for them as she stood in the shuttle control office just off the hanger and one level up on the starboard side. USS Argonne's main hangar was always a busy place with cargo and personnel always coming and going as the situation planetside was getting worse over time. The smaller then average Bajoran female sighed softly as she found the situation she was ensnared in rather depressing, she paused as she redirected her attention back to the present before her.
The Akurians had their hands or rather paws full with the situation planetside and it was showing with the fact that Tienn was presently looking after three Ferasian kits at home, they were presently being looked after in Argonne's sickbay, presently undergoing a full set of checks to make sure they hadn't brought anything aboard with them.
At present. Tienn was fostering the kits in her company and she was waiting to see if their parents could be found before she stuck in her notice to formally adopt them as her own, she had been assured that things were getting sorted out on the Akurians end so she was settling in to wait, she knew she would need oceans of liquid patience at the rate things were going and she was never a patient woman to begin with.
Meanwhile the shuttle was on final approach and the dozen or so Marines were all ready to disembark. "Alright listen up kids, this ride will only be on the deck long enough to drop you guys off.. There is no lost luggage counter at this spaceport so I want you all gone as soon as the doors open.. Clear!" the pilot explained to the various passengers in the back.
There was silence as nobody was foolish enough scream 'sir, yes sir'. which made Selendis happy as she secured her pack over her shoulders, she smiled as she felt its comforting weight remind her that she was now on active duty which was something she had always known, thanks to her mother who had done her best to protect her and her sisters from the monster that passed as the guy who called himself their father, he was not Selendis's father in any way, shape or form as they had no DNA in common. Her male DNA donor was none other then Captain Stephen Caldwell who had died years earlier in what she had called her home reality before Selendis had come to this one.
The shuttle entered the hanger and did a full 180 degree turn to the left so it was facing the exit of the hanger, the hatches opened and the dozen or so marines began streaming out, moments later everyone was out and the doors guillotined shut before the large transport took off and departed out the hanger, leaving Selendis Unal. Atin Temetti and the others standing there, a door opened and in came a shorter then average female wearing a starfleet uniform with the new Marine support colors.
Unal could tell almost instantly that this female was Bajoran and not human as Tienn approached. "Marines.. You are being assigned to the headquarters unit and frankly. I need you guys to show me you were worth sticking my neck out for this. I was told that I would have first pick.. You ten made the cut and the rest did not. Now show me you were worth it." she paused. "The rest of you fall out and find medical... you'll find it on deck twelve, section twenty two baker."
The six others who didn't wear Marine colours ann came to attention before they quickly ran away, mostly to clear the Argonne's hanger deck and to find the location supplied to them by the Bajoran Marine before them.
Tienn regarded the ten marines before her. "Ms Unal?"
"Yes Major." Selendis responded in a crisp and clear tone of voice.
"Says here on my PADD that there is an issue with your paperwork. You wanna explain that.?" the Bajoran female inquired.
"My last name.. It's Yamaguchi and not Unal. I will get that straightened out first thing." Selendis responded. "After we find our new home and before I start work..." the younger female responded, a gentle smile playing at her lips.
Tienn nodded, not unkindly. "I understand. Please and thank you Lieutenant." she paused. "This way kids.. I'll show you to your accommodations and you start tomorrow morning with me here in the hanger. We're looking at sorting out issues with Federation Armored Vehicles." and with that Tienn led her charges off of the hanger and into the Argonne's structure.
Tienn led them into a turbolift that was larger then average, it was designed to handle squads and all their gear. Selendis assumed that all of the turbolifts on this ship were this size. Moments later the doors opened and the eleven people all filed out. "Alright, you guys will be billeted in this hallway." as the small Bajoran woman went down the hallway, handing out PADD's as she went. Atin went third while Selendis went seventh.
Unal dropped her pack in her new living area, she then stretched, lifting her arms towards the ceiling, she smiled as she dusted herself off before she went out the door and down the hall, her next destination was the Operations Center.
Atin meanwhile settled in at the workstation to read some literature about his new posting as he wanted to know everything that they were was to know about this ship and her crew aboard her.
Meanwhile Selendis went into the Operations center. "Hello.. Who do I see about issues with paperwork?" the shorter then average female inquired of the personnel contained within the room.
A dark skinned Bajoran male was standing at the counter, he shifted his attention to her as he nodded. "That would be myself... Let me have a look at your paperwork." he requested, she handed him a PADD. "apparently my request wasn't processed properly on Deneva." Selendis explained the error. "My family name is incorrect."
The man brought it up. "Ahh. says you requested a change of name.. from Unal to Yamaguchi.. Its still pending review." the man responded evenly. "Yamaguchi.. as in Captain Torilla Yamaguchi?"
"She's my mother.. native to this reality.. my biological mother is Commander Plataea Unal. They are physically identical in all respects or so I hear." Selendis explained.
"Okay.. Your change of name wasn't denied, Its just pending approval is all." the man responded. "It should finish in about a week or so."The Bajoran explained for her benefit with a smile on his face.
"Thank you. Thats all I wanted to bother you about." Selendis responded, a breezy smile on her lips before she took her leave and departed, her next stop was her new home away from home.
