Burning down the Forest - Part Two

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1000Hrs - July 15th, 2393

Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen sighed softly as she went down the hallway, away from Siaxx's office as she tapped the black strip going down the sides of the hallway. "Computer, Locate Nebris Yamaguchi?"

"Captain Nebris Yamaguchi is located in Fifth Squadron's ready room." came the half-expected answer.

"Okay, more or less the same place as my final destination then," Yamaguchi-Cullen admitted before she set off for her destination. Several minutes she reached her destination, she went through the various security checkpoints and then reached her destination, she entered Fifth Squadron's Ready Room to find Nebris Yamaguchi and two other pilots having a discussion. A human female with long blonde hair and pale white skin. She was eyeing Nebris with a smile but then Ripcord knew that Crater's intentions were more than simply a matter of interest professionally. Landslide was the second female and she was bald with blue skin, she also had large breasts and she had the long bifurcation line of members of her species that marked her as a Bolian. Landslide had two co-husbands and several children, some were hers and some were her co-wife's which Ripcord did not mind in the slightest.

Yamaguchi-Cullen came over. "Ladies, Nebris." she then announced herself.

"Lo Ripcord." Crater greeted her with a smile as she knew that Yamaguchi-Cullen had a rather complex relationship with Silverbolt, this did not bother her in the least as it was one less person who wanted him the way she did.

"What am I interrupting?" Yamaguchi-Cullen inquired.

"Landslide wanted to make sure we have enough supplies for the exercise next week and I was going over the unit breakdown I would be taking with me," Silverbolt responded with a nod. "Ladies, any further questions. I think Ripcord wants me for something else."

Landslide shook her head. "Nope. With a little work, I can get the supplies we need but it won't take long to handle." the Bolian female commented. "With your permission skipper?"

"Go for it, and don't feel you need to inform me of what's going on. Do a write-up and send it in, in the meantime, enjoy your time off." Silverbolt responded.

"Oh, I have things planned for my two co-husbands that they will enjoy." as Landslide turned and departed after she picked up the PADD that she had been working on.

Yamaguchi-Cullen felt a surge of lust and envy as she regarded the other woman in silence. Crater looked at Silverbolt. "Are you alright?"

"Stress," Silverbolt answered evenly. "Tienn is-" was as far as he got before Crater got angry. "What is it with that woman, she's a fucking idiot and the sooner you can your relationship with her, the sooner you can move on with life and find something better." she snapped angrily because she paused and breathed out and then back in again. "I'm sorry.." but Crater was not sorry, not in the least. Both Nebris and Yamaguchi-Cullen knew it and they also both knew why too.

"I'll be fine, you go on. Enjoy your time off and we can sort out the squadron's plans when you get back okay?" Silverbolt commented evenly. Crater took it as a dismissal which it was, she departed in silence as Silverbolt turned to Ripcord. "I suspect that you want me for something other than work.." Ripcord simply nodded her head. "I do Nebris. I want you to give me full custody of your children."

"That's no simple matter. I brought that up to Tienn but she was having none of it." Nebris answered with a heavy sigh. "She insists the issues are with me and not with her."

"Tienn is an idiot. Crater is right Nebris, end your relationship now before she crushes you under the weight of the black hole she's created in the middle of your life." Yamaguchi-Cullen answered, finality in her voice. "There is plenty of eligabl-" was as far as she got before Nebris cut her off with an angry growl.

"No." Nebris sighed. "No.," he said a second time. "Rachael. I can see now that remaining as a male was the greatest mistake of my entire life. If being male is penance for what I did to you and Ennis then I want out, I can't do this anymore. I can not live this lie!" Nebris responded. "When I get out of here, I'm going to go and see the guys in medical to start me on the path back to being what I was," he explained while fighting to control his temper.

"Nebris. Are you sure this is a good idea..?" Yamaguchi-Cullen answered.

Nebris regarded her with a look of disdain. "What are you on about?" he asked her in a rather cold tone. "Since when the hell do you care?, what I deal with?" he inquired of her. "You took the kids because you have empty nest syndrome, I know you better than that... Let us not even discuss what I did to your husband..."

Yamaguchi-Cullen nodded her head. "Yeah, your right," she answered. "But my issues with you are minor compared to your issues with yourself and with Tienn. But Nebris. You know better than to fight a two-front war. Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots fights a war on twelve fronts and you are fighting a multi-front war.. Two with Tienn and two with yourself." Yamaguchi-Cullen finished.

Nebris sighed. "My life as a male has been nothing but a truly miserable existence. As a female, I understood myself and knew my place in the universe, now I don't even know who or what I am. I've tired Rachael, of living this lie of a life. That can be fixed so I am going to go and fix it."

"So that's it then?" Yamaguchi-Cullen asked Nebris.

"Yes. I am done." Nebris answered quietly. "What else would you have me do?" he demanded of her.

"I would prefer that you be honest, with yourself, if not me," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered in a growl.

"I am being honest. I am not interested in two children that I have no idea of how to raise. Tienn won't want to give them up so she can keep them." Nebris answered with a soft growl, while he looked emotionally controlled and calm to the average person, Yamaguchi-Cullen could see his anger and hatred roiling and blazing like the nuclear furnace found in the average star across the firmament of the skies. Yamaguchi-Cullen suddenly began to realize that he was very serious and he was truly at the end of his rope. "You're not fucking with me.?"

"What part of no, did you not understand?" Nebris inquired, not in anger but in resignation. He sounded tired and exhausted. "I've tired Rachael. I'm sorry I ever remained on this base. I'm sorry I tried and I'm sorry I cared but I simply can't do it." and with that, he turned and walked out of the squadrons ready room slowly, as if he was injured.

Rachael watched him leave in silence, she let out a heavy sigh before she likewise departed the ready room.
