Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1030Hrs - July 15th, 2393

Command Master Chief Petty Officer had been called to see Admiral Lasky at the time of ten thirty in the morning. Why she had been called at this time was a mystery to her and she had no idea as to why Division Admiral Lasky wanted to speak with her but she would find out soon enough. Victoria reached her destination a few minutes before her appointed time, she nodded to the aide who regarded her. "Can I help you Master Chief?" he inquired in a polite tone of voice of the female before him.

"I'm here to see Admiral Lasky, I have an appointment. Victoria Yamaguchi is my name." the tall female explained her presence here.

"Ahh." the young man nodded. "Okay, the Admiral is free. He will see you now." as Enyo went over to the Admirals office, she tapped the door chime and was bade admittance to the Admirals office, the office was decently well lit but it was not what she would call overly bright, the lighting was warm and the room was slightly cooler than the average by about two degrees.

Admiral Lasky was sitting on his sofa with a PADD in hand. Lasky noticed the tall female a moment after she entered the office. "Good Morning. Master Chief. Hows things with you?" Lasky inquired with a cheery grin.

Enyo decided to dispense with the pleasantries but she knew she couldn't be rude about the subject, she still didn't know what Admiral Lasky wanted her for. "I'm doing well Admiral, minus all that drama a couple of days ago, some kind of massed hallucination, I think." she then shrugged her shoulders in a manner that indicated she didn't know rather then she didn't care. "I imagined I was back in a prison cell, about to be tortured but I was sexually assaulted," she explained. "What about you?"

"I was on a beach on Earth. With Anandra Delair." Lasky paused. "She is presently assigned to the USS Grey Wolf, she and I worked together on Starbase Four Hundred but we were never in a relationship, which was weird." he slowly rose to his feet. "I heard Starfleet Intelligence didn't want you. Something about clearance codes and some other garbage like that." he paused. "What did you see yourself doing for your next assignment?" Lasky regarded her carefully. "If, you had your preference and choice."

"I want my commission back, I want my command back... But you never took it from me, to begin with..." she paused. "I guess it'll never happen."

Lasky regarded her as he went over to his desk. "You'd be surprised at just how many people seem to think I am bound by various rules and regulations. I need good officers to command the ships in my squadron. I also need people to train the crews assigned to those ships." Lasky regarded her evenly. "Your file crossed my desk, thanks to Fleet Captain Paul West."

"I didn't think he would do it," Enyo admitted. "I guess I have bad habits to break," she admitted.

"You do," Lasky answered with a smile. "But I will not nitpick and I will also not complain either."

Enyo shook her head ever so slightly. "I don't follow you, sir," she admitted in a sheepish manner.

"That alright. I called you here because I wanted to offer you a job. Command of one of the ships under my command. I was able to secure for you a commission at the rank of Commander. The powers that be wouldn't give me Captain for you as they don't know you. I was less than pleased with it but Commander was the best I could get for you." he paused. "I'm sorry Commander."

"Don't be sir, Commander is better then I was expecting, to be honest," Enyo admitted. "What ships need commanding officers?" she added.

Lasky handed her the PADD he had been holding in his hand. "Every single ship I have is a Commander billet at its Captain, even the USS Whirlwind," he explained.

The PADD in her heads displayed the status of all the ships in Lasky's command. It made for grim reading for some and inspirational reading for others.

"

Enyo regarded Lasky as she regarded the PADD in her hand. "I don't recognize the Wasp class or the Monarch class." as she handed the PADD back to him.

Lasky nodded as he accepted the PADD back from her. "That's understandable, the Wasp is a Nebula-class ship that's designed as two variants, a Starfighter carrier and the other is a marine troop carrier. The Monarch is an Arsenal Battlecruiser. She's designed to remain at range and throw tons of steel at puny ships." he explained. "From range, you'll spam ordinance and hopefully kill the enemy from range."

Enyo nodded as she listened in silence, she broke the silence a moment later. "Interesting." she then slowly smiled. "The Whirlwind appeals to me on a primal level but." she paused a moment. "She's not for me and I don't want to violate the regs because she's a Captain's billet."

Lasky was quietly impressed, most would have leaped at the chance to command the largest ship in the fleet regardless of if they were qualified, especially when they had been offered their pick. "I respect your choice Commander. So what ship do you want?"

Enyo smiled. "I want the Peerless."

"Done. She's yours." Lasky smiled as he regarded her. Before he handed her a PADD. "That's the paperwork for your commission." as he handed her three more PADD's in quick succession. "The first will be the specs of the Peerless, so you know what you are in for," he explained. "The third will be a list of the senior staff assigned to her so try to be nice to them." Lasky paused. "The last will be your quarter's assignment and miscellaneous paperwork you'll need for your new assignment," he explained.

"Thank you, do we go over now?" Enyo was wondering.

"No," Lasky answered. "You'll need a few days to sort life out, finish your paperwork and the like. So you'll come back in two weeks and your new assignment will take effect on the first."

"Thank you, Admiral," Enyo answered, a gentle smile playing at her lips.

"Do you have any questions?" Lasky inquired. "If it's not too early to say, Congratulations Captain," he added a moment later.

Enyo grinned. "Thank you, Admiral. For giving me what I always wanted. Since I came to this reality." she explained.

"No, sir. Thank you for this opportunity." Enyo answered with a smile.

"Alright then, on your way. I'm sure you have a lot to deal with and I just added a ton of work for you to look after so I won't keep you Commander." he paused.

"Yessir." and with that, Enyo turned and departed in silence.
