Mission: Mission 73: Near Misses and Close Encounters
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0900Hrs - March 23rd, 2392

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi was waiting for the arrival of the JAG Officer who would decide her granddaughters fate, she was prepared for the fight of her life and outwardly she looked cool, calm and collected but if one could sense her emotions, they would quickly realized she was anything but cool, calm and collected as she was ready and looking for a fight.

The older woman was seated across from Teval who was seated on the sofa where as Commander Tom Lasky was seated behind his desk, his booted feet were up on the desk as he waited.

Torilla gently took a sip of her drink as she waited, she was prepared to wait forever if it came to it. "Torilla... You okay?"

"My granddaughters fate is being decided because some fucking asshole had to open his mouth... If I know Siaxx.. she's going to have her entire hangar deck staff replaced. No exceptions." Yamaguchi explained, keeping her voice low so as not to lose her temper.

"Can she even do that?" Lasky inquired.

"Yep.. She does command the USS Tranquility and she is an attachment to the battlegroup so .." the large woman simply shrugged her shoulders in a manner that indicated she really could care less about that detail "What can I say... Siaxx can tell Zuko and Zara both to fuck off and rightly so. It is her ship after all." Yam,aguchi then shrugged as if to say that she did not care, which in fact, she didn't.

Suddenly the doorbell beeped and the man was bade entrance. The door opened and the officer with dark skin, far darker then Torilla herself came in. "Commander Sturgis Turner..." he turned to Torilla. "Miss Yamaguchi, you have done a very poor job with your child."

Torilla blinked, this was a major surprise to her. "Oh really..?" she inquired. "Wait... Which one." she added in a very snide tone.

Commander Lasky meanwhile simply laughed, more at the absurdity of the statement before him but he quickly stopped once he realized the man was very serious.

Teval didn't say a word yet, somewhat confused by Turners statement. However, if he really did what Teval thought he did, the Kurokuri captain chose to keep his silence and let the JAG officer hang himself.

Torilla Yamaguchi regarded the smaller man before her. "I have six children... If you have evidence that I have neglected one of them, then please present your case or be gone" she growled, her temper on a slow fuse to detonation, she narrowed her eyes as Lasky could tell that she was rapidly running out of road.

Turner regarded her. "I am speaking of Saki Yamaguchi... y'know... you're daughter.... or are you just-" as Lasky cut him off. "Do not finish that insult Commander... Otherwise I'll let the lady strange you from across the room.." Lasky said lightly. "I assure you... I take threats and insults said in this room very seriously... So... This is about Saki Yamaguchi... Tell me my good man... Are you aware of who Saki is related to?"

"Yes, Commander... I know... Rachael here has done a rather poor job with her." Turner growled back. "I aim to correct that."

Lasky sighed. "Do you?... Considering you can't even tell the Yamaguchi ladies apart..." Lasky responded before he indicated Torilla with his hand. "That is not Rachael... by the way... and I would recommend to you. In the strongest possible terms that you do not threaten Rachael Yamaguchi ever again.. Especially in my presence... Am I clear?" Lasky inquired.

"Oh.." Turner responded. "What,.. you got some special thing on the side-"

Lasky smashed his fist onto the desk. "Oh shut it already... If you are determined to anger me... Congratulations you just succeeded." he growled.

Yamaguchi answered his question.. "Rachael by the way... is my daughter.. Saki is actually... My granddaughter. In case you... missed it." there was a great deal of derision in her tone of voice, as if she was speaking to a particularly densely minded child that had neither her affection or her respect.

Teval then added his own cutting remark. "Really commander. You came here on this ship to work on this case, and you neglected to even find out whom Rachael Yamaguchi was, tell me, how in the hell did you miss that one?."

"Well...Umm." Turner found he didn't have a good response. "Well I assumed-" was as far as he got before he was interrupted.

"Yeah." Lasky sighed softly as he facepalmed.

Yamaguchi herself sighed. "Next time I show up here for whatever reason... I'll do it in uniform.." as she turned to Turner. "Thats... Captain Torilla Yamaguchi to you... I take threats against my person most seriously.. by the way.." she added with a wide smile that was pure malice.

Lasky sighed before he tapped his combadge. "Lasky to Ashcroft?"

"Ashcroft here." came the voice of a female officer that nobody in the room knew. "Would you mind terribly stepping in here please... Because I am about two seconds from killing someone who is utterly stupid and is pissing me off... It upsets my digestion." Lasky explained why he needed her.

Torilla smiled at his statement. Clearly Lasky was working on his sense of humor such as it was.

"I'm on my way Commander... and remember, what has been seen, cannot be unseen." moments later the doors opened and in walked Captain Second Grade Elizabeth Ashcroft. "You screamed. Oh magnificent one?" she inquired of the audience before she looked at Teval.

Teval looked at Ashcroft saying. "Alright, you will be taking over his case," As he pointed at Commander Sturgis Turner. "He will be going back to the JAG Corps to explain his failing."

Ashcroft raised an eyebrow "Okay, sounds good.... But maybe I should have this story from the beginning?.."

Yamaguchi was the one who answered. "He came in here and started yelling at me about being a bad mother and that he was going to get my child taken away... He assumed that I was my daughter." she explained. "I am not Rachael Yamaguchi and yes while I have two young children of my own... I take threats against them most seriously.."

Ashcroft blinked, this was a surprise. "Sturgis... You didn't check before you yelled at someone?.... this is not like you... Why?"

"I have no excuse." Turner admitted.

"Good... Why?." she paused, clearly she wasn't about to let this one go. "Give me a fucking reason why you did this!" Ashcroft demanded.

"I assumed-" he started but was then Ashcroft talked over him, steamrolling him to silence.

"Okay, please stop talking now.... Get out of this office and wait for me outside my office.." Ashcroft quivered, not with being cold but with rage. "Now.... Whats the particulars of this case... Could someone please bring me up to speed?" she inquired before she sat down in a chair. "I promise to be a good girl..."

Lasky regarded her. "Well... It started on Tranquility's hanger deck... Phoenix was apparently motivating Saki Yamaguchi..." he indicated Torilla as he spoke. "Thats her granddaughter by the way... to shout sex jokes across the hanger deck.. someone overhead and called Starfleet Chief Services about the matter."

Ashcroft nodded. "Okay... So.." she paused. "Why was I not informed of any of this mess.... Guys I could have helped prevent this from getting to this level.."

Teval leaned back in his chair, and pulling out an Akurian Alcoholic beverage from his desk, he took a drink, then replied. "Eh, you will have to ask the higher ups in the JAG corps for that one."

Ashcroft nodded. "I will do so... But I'll handle it later." she responded. "So... What to do about this case of a child who's shouting sex jokes across a busy hanger.?" she shifted her attention to Teval. "So... Child neglect?... Child abuse?" she inquired. "This seems a little over the top, bringing in JAG I mean..." she shook her head. "All I see is that a child got a little too rambunctious... Probably egged on by a family friend to say something stupid. I assume Saki was being what she is... a Child?"

"Thats my assumption Captain." Torilla Yamaguchi responded.

"Okay then... So Give the child a stern talking to and let everyone involved know that the problem has been sorted out." Ashcroft responded. "But all that said... I wish to address the other two issues in the room before I go scream at Admiral Chegwidden." she sighed. "The first was that I was completly uninformed about any of this disaster and second... that someone contacted Child services and it turned into a child very nearly getting taken away from her mother and grandmother."

Yamaguchi regarded the new Chief of JAG. "I can't speak to the former... but I can speak for the latter. Whoever contacted Child services... Did they have a valid complaint...and should complaints of that nature be sorted out with the crews of the ships they happen on rather then getting outside people involved.?" the Halanan female inquired in a soft tone.

"I wish I had a decent answer for you Torilla..."

Ashcroft nodded. "The Captain's concern is valid... I will address all of this with Admiral Chegwidden and I'll inform you of the developments going forward." the shorter woman responded. "Is there anything else we should address before I go yell at people?"

Teval shrugged. "Nothing from me."

"Alright.." Ashcroft smiled. "By your leave then."

"Thank you Captain for your time and attention in this case... Rachael Yamaguchi will be releived on the subject."

"Yes.. But please explain to her that my patience does have limits and my tolerance is fair inelastic... She would do well to not try to stretch it."

Lasky nodded his head. "I will so inform her."

Ashcroft rose to her feet and departed without another word.

"Everyone... Thank you for coming." Lasky responded. "Torilla... May I walk with you.. We have an issue between us that must be resolved."

"Yes.. we do." Yamaguchi responded. "Very well... Lets go have this chat in the Green Dragon." and with that the two of them departed.
