A Short Drop and a Sudden Stop

Posted on Fri Mar 6th, 2020 @ 4:09pm by Lieutenant Garry Smithson & First Sergeant Grade Two Kelly "Rabbit" Shaddock

Mission: Mission 63: Second Nature
Location: Fighter Corps Spaces - Just off the Main Hanger - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1000Hrs - February 15th, 2392

Chief Warrant Officer Kelly Shaddock, known more informally as 'Rabbit' was present transiting between her office and the messhall, she was in need of lunch and she was hungry when she came across a scene that looked odd to her eyes as a woman was physically beating the crap out of one of the fighter corps personnel.

The fact that someone was getting their face rearranged was telling to Shaddock and also she recognized the guy as Major Robert Sullivan. She didn't know him but a lot of the fighter corps personnel on the USS Roanoke and even here on the Courageous hated the man, all except Second Wing who almost every last one of them worshipped him like he was some sort of god.

Shaddock moved into the shadows as she could hear the impacts of fists against flesh. Robbie was trying to defend himself but one smack from the small, overweight bundle of terror send him to the deck where she began kicking at him.

Shaddock sighed. "Enough."

The female screamed, turned and attempted to run away. Shaddock wasn't armed but she slapped her combadge. "Shaddock to security, fist fight at my location... send a few guys please... to arrest a rather ugly overweight fat woman for assault."

"On our way." came the response as Kelly Shaddock regarded Robert Sullivan. She had heard his reputation and while she let out a soft sigh, she wanted no part of him as he was one of those guys who thought Earth was at the center of the universe and all should pray to that ball of rock and thank their lucky stars that Earth existed.

Shaddock herself was from Oberon colony, she was from a frontier world and she despised everything about Earth, to her the man lying on the deck plating was a zealot of high human culture. "You can wake up now... 'Mister' Sullivan.. She's gone." There was something in Shaddocks tone of voice, to the untrained ear she sounded like she was speaking to a rather dense child that had neither her respect or her affection, he tone could have frozen milk into a solid block of ice.

Shaddock knelt beside him. "WAKE UP!" she screamed into his ear. "Thank you." when she saw him flinch. "Now... Security will be along shortly.... Try not to kill yourself with the explanation for this episode.." and with that Shaddock stood up.

Two security guards came around the corner as they moved in, to police away the crime scene and deal with the situation present.

Lieutenant Garry Smithson came over as the two security guards and the other guy were transported away. "What happened Chief Warrant?"

"I'm honestly not sure Lieutenant.. I was heading for lunch when I came across the ..." she stopped. "I don't know who she was beating on the Major.. She decked him and when I announced myself, she screamed and ran away." she paused. "I didn't get a good look but she as very small and very overweight.... I think she was wearing diplomatic colors.." Shaddock frowned. "Sorry El Tee... I can't be any more helpful then that."

"Lovely... Alright.. we'll find her and deal with her ourselves... Thanks Chief." and with that Smithson turned and went to his work while Shaddock resumed her mission to get to the lounge for her lunch.
