The Twin Tailed Felines

Posted on Fri Mar 6th, 2020 @ 2:14pm by Petty Officer 2nd Class Cheleya Dvald & Fleet Captain Torilla Yamaguchi & Post Captain Keyan Fardreamer

Mission: Mission 64: Mortal's Chiefest Enemy
Location: Zekarria
Timeline: Feb 12th 2392

the large Cruiser Guardian of Kio pulled into the Zekarria system along with every other ship involved in the attack on Tekevek's headquarters. There mission was a stellar success, however 2-14th combat brigade took a lot of casualties and equipment damage in the process so General Zoka Ukar decided to take the Brigade off combat duty and she reassigned one of the other brigades to take over for 2-14. Meanwhile Arina had a special delivery for Roanokes battlegroup to tend to, several hundred children from a feline species that Akurians where unfamiliar with, so they decided to transfer them over to Roanokes battlegroup for care.

Teval was curious about the new arrivals himself so he showed up at sickbay where a dozen or so of this very unusual species was being treated.

Keyan Fardreamer was sitting on a biobed as a half dozen of these unusual children were seated before him. "Well.. You see two comes after one and three.. comes after two." he was explaining how to count as these poor children had no idea whatsoever of how to count.

Cheleya Dvald came over with a tray in her hands, she was operating more like a waitress rather then a nurse but these guys were clearly derivatives of Caitians, they were related but there were many differences between these guys and the average Caitian. "You good here El Tee.?"

Fardreamer nodded. "We're doing alright."

"I got drinks for you guys." The small Bolian female began dishing out the drinks to the various children who accepted them eagerly, they all began to drink from the bottles like it would be their last. She turned her head. "Teval..."

Fardreamer regarded Teval with a look that could have meant anything. "Skipper."

Teval looked at the new arrivals, instantly noticing they where not Caitian or Ferasian at all, clearly indicated by their two tails, so he asked," Well, where did you guys find these cute ones."

"Tekevek had these as prisoners.." Fardreamer commented. "You do not want to know what he did to those who angered him or displeased him." the man had an odd look in his eye. "I doubt I'll ever get a good nights sleep ever again.... The things that vile monster did.." he paused as he cleared his throat. "Yeah..." he then sighed. "You'll have my formal report in two hours... I'm still putting the details together... about things.."

Teval nodded. "Yeah i got the reports that Tekevek himself apparently liked eating sentient beings. Didn't think that anyone could be that disgusting."

Fardreamer nodded his head. "Yeah.." he said softly. "In any event I'm sticking my name in to adopt these six guys and gals, they need a good home... I aim to see to it that they get it."

Teval was a bit surprised by Camshafts comment. "Wait, your willing to adopt six of these little ones."

"Yep." Fardreamer responded quietly. "These guys all have names and they deserve a home... I can give them that.... Especially after Yulaan joins me here."

Teval gave one of the children a pat," Well just keep in mind, as cute as they look, they are sentient beings, not pets. And don't try and force clothing on them if they don't want it."

"Well... They aren't wearing any clothing at present as I don't know their customs... I'm letting these guys teach me about themselves as I teach them about who I am... If I am going to raise them then I need to know more about their culture.." Fardreamer responded. "I have the computer searching for their species but its turning up big goose eggs and little else at present."

Teval looked at one of the children and offered his opinion. "Well their fur all seems to be fairly thick so these ones aren't used to wearing clothes I can tell you that. Plus even if they did, I'd imagine they would go without pants, seeing as wearing pants with just one tail is difficult enough but two is likely to be nearly impossible."

He then picked up a brush and began to absentmindedly brush one of the Children, whom purred in response.

"Yep... I already know that these guys are arboreal. Tree climbers... They live in jungles on their homeworld... Which has narrowed down my search." Fardreamer responded with a smile. "If I can find the species... Maybe we can have some good relations with them...."

Teval nodded but didn't say anything as the child he was brushing looked very happy as she purred away.

Meanwhile on the Courageous. Suzuya, Kisiko and Michael Yamaguchi where in their sickbay with two dozen of these unusual felines. Suzuya, like Teval on the Roanoke, was busy brushing the children, and each one seemed very happy and content when she did. Kisiko then commented," It looks like most of them had never been seriously groomed before until now."

Suzuya nodded as she tried to work out some matted fur from one of the children's tails.

Michael Yamaguchi had one of them sitting on his lap as the small female dozed lightly. "Yep... We lost enough for this..." he quipped as the door opened and in walked Captain Torilla Yamaguchi.

Commander Rachael Haig was sitting on a biobed with two of these unusual children, one had their head resting on her lap and the other was sitting before her as she groomed the little male, while working out matts on one of the two tails. "Captain."

"Hey Doctor... Having fun?" Torilla Yamaguchi inquired.

"Something like that..." she indicated the troopers nearby. "These guys are helping me." she responded.

Torilla came over to Michael and the others. "Welcome aboard. I'm Captain Torilla Yamaguchi.. Captain of this vessel.

"Torilla Yamaguchi.... Are you .... any relation... to Melissa?" Michael Yamaguchi asked softly.

Torilla regarded the person who spoke. "Melissa...She my husband's.. great grandmother.."

"Then we are cousins."

"What!?" Torilla paused. "How?"

"Melissa Yamaguchi... is my grandmother... I am Michael Yamaguchi." he indicated the others present. "These are also Yamaguchi's"

Torilla was suddenly speechless. "I need to sit down." as two of the unusual children sniffed at her, before they began purring softly at her, she gently ran her fingers through their fur absentmindedly.

Suzuya let the young child cuddle with her fluffy foxlike tail. "Yeah Melissa Yamaguchi is our adopted mother."

Michael nodded. "This is Suzuya and Arina. My aunts... There are two others but they were wounded in the battle.."

"I will pay them a visit then." Torilla responded. "Jake had heard about his great grandmother's loss when the Mogami disappeared. He always suspected something wasn't right."

"Well Jake was right to suspect something except my grandmother married and had four children... and the four Kurokuri adoptees." he explained evenly. "I have over two dozen relatives... They are all alive and well."

Torilla Yamaguchi was speechless, it took a moment for her to recover. "I need to tell Jake... and April."

Kisiko gently brushed her own tail while adding. "Well hopefully we can reestablish contact with the Akurian confederation soon and have a great big family reunion."

"I'd like that.." Torilla responded. "I know Jake and April would like to meet their great grandmother."

Suzuya then added. "Well if you want to visit Mazar and Maya, they are at the planet side medical facility, we where planning on going there shortly anyway."

Torilla nodded. "Sure. I'd like that... Are these little ones coming with us?" she inquired.

Suzuya looked at the children. "Yeah they will probably be transferred planetside once they finish their medical checkups and the doctors give them the all clear."

Torilla Yamaguchi nodded her head. "Alright." she commented evenly. "Doctor. Can these guys leave?"

"Sure." Haig responded. "They are not hurt and the children are extremely well behaved, I'm going to stick in for a couple of them myself."

Suzuya finished brushing off the child and then commented," Alright, I'm ready to go."

Kisiko nodded and stood up, looking at Torilla. "Ready."

Michael Yamaguchi likewise stood up as Torilla nodded. "Alright.. This way." and with that she turned and walked out of sickbay, her small party following her.

Upon arriving at Zekarria's army hospital, Suzuya directed the group to where Maya and Mazar where recovering, both of them having gotten out of surgery only a few hours ago. while they where both in the same recovery room, they had to be on separate beds, and neither of them liked that fact. Mazar had his tail wrapped around himself, and was amply demonstrating that there wasn't many things in the universe cuter than a sleeping Kurokuri. Maya was busy reading. Both had bandages around their midsections indicating their injuries where not fully healed yet and though the doctors where able to reattach Maya's hand and forearm, it was immobilized in a sling. Suzuya looked at her two siblings, while giving Maya an ear rub. "So how are you two holding up."

Maya gave off a soft purr. "Eh, we have had better days."

Suzuya smiled then introduced Torilla," Well, it would seem we have encountered our long lost relatives from this universe."

Torilla Yamaguchi nodded. "Indeed... It seems there are a lot more of us then I had expected." the tall female explained. "My kin don't know that you guys exist yet... Because I have not yet shared that information... But there are a lot of Yamaguchi's on this side..." she smiled. "Many among my kin always wondered what became of Melissa Yamaguchi.."

"Well she is still alive and well," Suzuya answered," Along with just about everyone else in the family whom made it over there, and thousands of other federation people that ended up there."

"So... Some of those missing ship cases can be closed then." Torilla responded in a dry tone. ""Thats good to know." she added as she sat down. "How many of you Yamaguchi's are on this side... just the five of you?" she inquired.

Kisiko went over to pet Mazar, "Oh no, there is a lot more than five of us."

Torilla paused. "I look forward to meeting them." she responded with a smile.

Suzuya looked at Torilla. "you look like you want to pet us."

Yamaguchi gently touched Suzuya's ear with her finger. "Mmm... I do." she responded. "I'm presently looking after several Caitian children myself." she explained as she gently ran her fingers though their fur. "Are you guys feeling alright?"

All the Kurokuri present nodded with Maya commenting. "Well as well as one can be with a missing hand and having nearly been cut in two."

"Cut in two... wow, you're lucky to be alive." Yamaguchi responded. "How did you survive anyway?"

"Our medical technology is good," Suzuya replied. "Though it doesn't have quite the instant effect of Federation tech though."

Torilla regarded the beings before her. "I've heard how Akurian medical is better then what we have.." she then smiled. "How long before you guys can get out of here..?"

Mazar stated," Well, we will both be out of here in a few days, but i wont be fully healed for a couple of weeks yet."

Maya then added. "Yeah and with me missing part of a limb I won't fully recover for a month or two."

"Alright." Torilla Yamaguchi responded evenly. "Well.. I'd best go let my various relatives know that they have more relatives on the other side."
