Blowing the Whistle

Posted on Thu Mar 5th, 2020 @ 5:21am by Captain Daniel "Karass" McKnight & Commander Sohnaxx Dvald & Jeffery Daniels

Mission: Mission 58: Revenge Served, the Bolian Way
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1200Hrs - January 30th, 2392

Commander Sohnaxx Dvald was now wearing her uniform and she was on duty, except she had been asked to deliver one of the most incriminating stories on a Federation company in a very long time, at least in her lifetime she couldn't recall a story breaking like this as she herself was being asked to handle things.

The smaller than average Bolian woman went from the USS Stalingrad over to her sister ship, the USS Dreamcrusher as she was looking for Roanoke Squadron's civilian reporter since Stalingrad didn't have one and she knew about Jeffery Daniels reputation for hard-hitting and fact presenting, he was known for being thorough and determined to tell a good story but while he was hard, he was also fair and honest.

Sohnaxx smiled as she greeted Commander Daniel McKnight while coming aboard in the transporter room. "Permission to come aboard sir?"

"Granted. Welcome aboard Doctor. What can I help you with?" Daniels inquired of the Bolian woman standing before him.

"Oh... I'm just here to see your reporter. It won't take long and hopefully, you'll not need to worry about me." Dvald explained.

"Ahh... Most of the time he spends his time these days in the Green Dragon since Jeff Duval bought out our bartenders privately run operation." McKnight explained. "I swear Sergeant Major Duval is more Ferengi then anything else."

Dvald chuckled softly. "I'll try to keep that to myself." the small Bolian woman explained with a smile. "Thank you, Commander. You have been most helpful."

"Alright. Your welcome" McKnight responded.

Dvald walked out of the transporter room, her next destination was clear as she went down the hallway. A few minutes later she was in the Green Dragon as she went over to the Bartender. "Hey. I'm looking for Jeff Daniels.... Is he about?"

"Corner table." the barkeep indicated casually the lone man seated at a corner table off at the far left corner of the room. "Thank you." as she turned and went over to him, her guts were in knots as she needed him to assist her with broadcasting some very damming information to the Federation Media which would cause her husband no shortage of distress. She could only hope that Shonax had everything covered. "Jeff Daniels?"

"Can I assist you Commander?"

"Actually... You could... I have come to give you this story... My husband and I worked long and hard on this...We also had a lot of help from various people." as she slipped her form into the booth across from him before she produced a PADD and she slid it across to him.

Daniels regarded her, he guessed she was about sixty years old but in outstanding physical shape for a woman of her years, she was also smaller then average but then he guessed that that was genetic rather then anything else and she had lovely eyes, a trait that he also suspected was from the female line of her family. "Let me see the details of this story of yours." as he lifted the PADD and quickly skimmed through it, his eyes sought out hers. "How much and how soon?"

Sohnaxx didn't care about money and she was also in no rush either. "Nothing.. and whenever you can get it arranged. No rush.."

"You cannot be serious." Daniels responded. "You come in here, hand me to this and want nothing for it. I do not believe you."

"I knew you wouldn't... but I want no compensation.. only that my name does not appear on this documentation."

"This is a spotlight shown into the workings of one of the largest transportation companies in the Federation... It paints them as a den of criminals..."

"Oh they will be dealt with in short order. Thats where you come in... My husband will be doing the sorting along with a few friends. If... all goes well of course."

"This report will stir up one hell of a real shitstorm. But you expect that don't you.."

"Oh, I do yes... Can you do it for me?" Dvald responded with a smile.

"Oh yes. My editor has been bitching at me to get a real story for weeks and providence has delivered you to me." Daniels explained. "If I get a Pulitzer prize for this, I will cite your name for allowing me to print such a story."

"I'll be happy with that if you get the award..." Sohnaxx smiled. "How long do you think it will be?"

"Let me go make some calls. Kick over some molehills... Where are you assigned?"

"I'm Chief Medical Officer on the USS Stalingrad."

"Ahh... Another Guardian class starship... Okay, when I get the okay from my editor. I will call you okay?"

"Thank you," Dvald responded. "I look forward to your call." and with that, she slid her lithe form out of the booth before she quickly made her exit. Several minutes later Daniels followed her out the door except his destination was his office which was on loan from the Starfleet personnel aboard this ship.

He reached his office several minutes later, before he contacted his editor on Earth. "Hey Frankie. You told me to get a real story... Well.. I got one I want to run past you."

"Okay Jeff... What do you have for me??" the foryish year old man from New Zealand responded as Daniels slid his PADD into the slid at the base of the computer terminal he was using. "I'm sending you a file over a secured channel.."

Frankie nodded. "I'm receiving it now... Let me look this over."

Daniels held his silence as Frankie read the file. "Holy crap man... Who gave you this?"

"The Chief medical officer of one of the ships in Roanoke's Battlegroup." Daniels sighed, it was looking like he wasn't going to get his wish after all. "So.. thats a no?"

"Daniels, you need to lighten up once in a while... " Frankie responded. "I'll put this together... Look for it tomorrow night at 6PM your time... You're about to piss off a lot of Bolians... so prepare yourself for that."
Frankie responded. "I sincerely hope this isn't this isn't a red herring otherwise it won't go well for either of us.... You better be serious about this."

"Hey, My job is to provide you the stories.. you're job is to edit them so the new anchor can read the to the public at large.." Daniels responded evenly. "That is what I have been doing for months and I have received very little for it in return except attitude from you... and I deliver this... and you threaten me." Daniels was clearly at the end of his patience. "please... don't do that again."

"Alright... I'm sorry. I'll take care of things... I just hope this works.." Frankie responded. "I'd best get to work..." he paused. "Reminds me, how much do I owe you for this story?"

"Nothing... my contact gave it to me for free... I didn't believe her either" Daniels responded. "Wouldn't even let me buy her a drink either.."

"Lovely... Like I said, I have to go... You take it easy up there okay.."

"Doing what I can... Daniels out." and with that he hung up on his editor. "Sohnaxx Dvald. My hot little Bolian... I just hope you didn't fuck this up.." he sighed.
