Mission: Mission 55: The Measure of a Woman
Location: Runabout R159
Timeline: 1200Hrs - January 23rd, 2392

It was ninety minutes after the Runabout R159 departed Starbase 12 with Ensign Kadian Paris at the conn, she was the one who had been tasked with flying the runabout for the first leg of the mission to Earth, regarding this child custody case that she had been asked to participate in.

Her background was rather close to Noel Yamaguchi in that she too was part alien, very close to human in many ways except she had very strong telekinetic abilities.

She tapped the display as she regarded the scene before her with her dark brown eyes. "Estimating Earth in four days, eleven hours.." as she tapped one more button on the display. "Locking in the autopilot." before she turned to face the other members of the team assembled. "So... Whats the plan?"

"We go in as inspectors. Health and Safety," Gyce explained as she passed out very accurately-forged credentials via SCIS. "If you see kids by their self, interview them. Eye-scan their body for bruises. If you see them, ask how they got them."

Paris nodded her head. "Okay. Check everything."

Windspirit nodded, then pulled something out of her kit. "I have a small camera and voice recorder that I can hide in my fur, do you want me to use it."

Paris raised an eyebrow as she was highly tempted to say yes and nod and make the call instead. "Mmm... could be handy." was what the young woman said instead. "Mom grew up in places like this.... because nobody knew what species she was. I ended up in a place like this for two months because both mom and dad were on assignment but it was thanks to dad that I and my siblings didn't end up here permanently..."

"If you see doors that shouldn't be locked, let me know so I can check it out," Gyce told the women. "Also, have civvie clothes on. Kids and criminals don't typically open up well to feds."

Windspirit looked at herself, then added the comment," Well, not an issue for me, not like I wear anything anyway."

Paris nodded. "They won't be expecting someone like me either." she commented. "I can set our tricorders to record while they are in the closed positions." she added with a smile. "What... PhD, not an MD."

"That's assuming you can also conceal it," Gyce pointed out.

Paris smiled. "Have faith in me Commander." as she opened the toolkit she was carrying. "I modified several PADD's to act much alike to tricorders... I was going to use them elsewhere. I have three of them which I was going to test..." she sighed. "This is a good a time as any."

"All right," Gyce nodded approvingly. "Let's get this done right and quickly."

Paris dished out the three PADD's, one to Gyce, Windspirit and one for herself. "Okay, the range on these little guys is not that great and I'm still working out the bugs." she explained. "Once you turn it on, it acts like a PADD and scans like a PADD except it also has tricorder abilities."

"All right," Gyce nodded. "As soon as we touchdown, split up once you get the chance. Preferably in pairs at least."

Paris nodded. "I'll handle the school... and the living accommodations." she responded.

Davis nodded. "I'll visit the hospital." as she smiled at the gathering.

"Guess I'll go visit the school with you, Miss Paris." Gyce wanted to catch a kid by themselves so badly. "Easiest way to split from the group, is to tell a tour guide where the loo is. Try not to be more than five minutes, if you wish to investigate something."

Paris nodded her head. "I understand... When in doubt, say you're lost." the young woman responded.

Davis went over to the replicator, she ordered herself a glass of water. "Well.. this will be interesting...." she paused. "I'm also going to take along a tricorder.... I like being prepared." there was something in her voice that said much but she pressed on.

"Soon as the pilot give the all clear, we'll depart casually," Gyce told the group.
