Mission:
Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Planet Niven
Timeline: 1800Hrs - January 15th 2392
Teval found himself being tackled by Nuyari and Takov, initiating a play wrestle session. Soon after Savo and Hakaya jumped in, most of them ganging up on Teval. "hey no fair."
Karryn watched the wrestle with amusement while Kiyuo and Yavi played hide and seek with Aerin, Both of them relying on their sense of smell to find their father.
Saki came over as she gave her mother a rather evil look. "Mom?"
Rachael turned her head as she knew her daughter was annoyed with her. "Saki?"
"Do you want to bother with being here?" the child inquired. "I think you are determined to make yourself as pissed off as you can get... I'm just holding you back aren't I?"
"You have no idea what your talking about." Rachael dismissed the conversation as she went back to the fossil that she had located in the rocks. "Saki... You wanted to come on this field trip...and I am at least having a good time... you're not.."
Saki growled. "Because I can't spent time with Zara..."
"Zara thinks like a criminal and she's teaching you bad habits. You were never a thief before you met her... Now you're stealing things from others.."
"Because you never spend time with us... Do you even know what Sarah's hobbies are... What Daniel's favorite color is?" Saki taunted her mother.
Rachael picked up the hammer and chisel. "Saki... Either help me or go away.." she responded.
Saki snarled something that was a cross between a swearword and a scream before she turned and stomped off.
All the Kurokuri where frozen in place, every one of them looking at either Saki or Rachael. Hakaya commented quietly to Teval. "Um, am I missing something here."
Teval, whom was on his back with Kiyuo and Takov on top of him replied. "I have no idea."
Rachael finished her extraction of the fossil from out of the rock. "All that aggravation and hassle.." she growled softly. "Saki?" Rachael called.
Saki ignored her mother's voice as she continued walking away. "Don't let me have any fun.... I hope I don't grow up to be like you." she muttered as she walked in the evening light.
Karryn quietly slipped out of the area without Rachael noticing and followed Saki. Neither Teval nor Hakaya knew at all what to say in this situation.
Rachael sighed as she muttered. "I came here to have fun... Well I was having fun... I found a fossil.." as she shook her head. "I can't fucking win.." she growled. "Well fuck it then.." as she took her hammer and smashed it into the rock face.
Meanwhile Saki's energy ran out as she plopped herself down on a large fallen log. "I fucking Hate this!"
Karryn found Saki a few minutes later, saying quietly. "Hey Saki."
Saki turned her head. "Oh... Hey Karryn..." she sighed. "Whats up?"
Karryn took a seat next to Saki, saying," Well, I see things don't seem to be going all that well for you lately, whats going on?"
"We came here to have fun... yet mom's working... Its all she ever does.." Saki responded with a growl. "She was sleeping earlier and now she's digging up rocks... then shes going to be cooking dinner and then probably more sleep... Whats the point?. The idea was to get her to find a hobby she can enjoy.."
Karryn nodded, well aware of Rachael's predicament, and she had a suspicion as to the cause, but right now she wasn't sure how to help just yet. But she did mention," Well it isn't all the time that everyone will share the same hobby, what do you like to do?"
"Well its too late to really do anything now..." Saki responded in a huff.
"Its late.." the small child sighed.
Karryn looked over at the nearby bushes where she knew Kiyuo was hiding, prompting her to say," Well, you could always join Kiyuo and Yavi in their game of hide and seek."
Saki turned her head. "Kiyuo is not subtle enough." she commented. "She's been stepping on twigs since she got here and I could almost hear her thinking." she explained. "but yes... that does sound like fun." she paused. "My problem... is Mom... she confuses me.. she always works and she never listens to anyone... she's never got time for anyone.." Saki said in a huff.
Karryn had no clue what to say about Rachael, nor was she sure as to how to rectify the situation. The whole camping trip didn't go as planned. However before she could comment on anything, a random squirrel like creature bolted out of the bushes where Kiyuo was located and bolted by Saki and Karryn, then ran up a tree. Moments later she heard the sound of Nuyari catching Kiyou. "Well, she found her," Karryn commented.
Saki sighed in a huff. "I'll figure it out." she paused. "Maybe I need to talk to Dad about things.."
"Well don't discount trying to talk to your mom," Karryn suggested.
Saki nodded. "Alright... Its almost time for dinner... so I'll try it now." and with that she hopped off the branch and went off towards camp.
