The Buck Stops Here - Part One

Mission: Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1000Hrs - January 6th, 2392

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was seated in her office doing paperwork, the door opened as Karass walked into sickbay and he went into her office without knocking.

"You not how to knock?" Yamaguchi inquired.

"I do. But I decided not to as you'll blow me off.." Karass responded evenly as he regarded the lovely looking human female before him. "Whats going on Doc?"

Celeste regarded him with her brown eyes as she frowned. "I am fine... just hungry and somewhat sleep deprived."

Karass sat down in one of her chairs before her put his boots up on her desk. "Sit back, put your feet up.."

"Comm-"

"Now. Doctor." Karass snapped at her, there was no mistaking the command in his tone of voice.

Celeste sighed as she sat back and did exactly as told.

Karass regarded her as he slowly smiled. "Now... How is that?. Any better?"

"Commander I have a lot of paperwork to do. If you-"

"I do mind actually." Karass responded evenly. "You are overworking yourself Doctor... and its come to my attention now." he explained as he peered at her face over his boots and her shoes. "Feels... awkward.. don't it?"

"I can't take myself seriously." Yamaguchi responded. "Sitting like this... I'm not used to it."

"Good." McKnight responded with a smile. "You're supposed to relax while doing paperwork, a happy boss makes for a happy department."

"My people are accustomed to following my orders."

McKnight sighed. "Your people are accustomed to you being in a decent frame of mind most of the time.... I hear people talking Celeste, they are worried about you and so am I.... I want you to take some time off."

"I would like to but I'm really busy at the present time.."

"Celeste. This is me asking you nicely." McKnight responded. "Please don't make me be overly demanding or annoying, I was hoping to avoid this issue today and it seems I'm going to loose this fight..." he explained. "Normally the Doctor is the one who knows whats bets for everyone else but in this case. I'm the doctor and you are my paitent."

"Oh?" Yamaguchi responded with amusement.

"Yes..." McKnight responded. "You are tired and overworked so I'm going to ask you to cut back on the time you spend in the office.. Go planetside,. go have a snowball fight.. Hell do something other then sit in here day after day..."

"I will consider it." Yamaguchi regarded him

McKnight regarded her in turn. "I mean it Doctor..." he responded quietly. "Either you can do it... or I'll do it for you. Take some time off... Whatever gods you believe in knows you've earned it."

"Alright.. I will."

"Good." and with that McKnight departed in silence.
