Echos of Winter - Part Two

Mission: Mission 52: The Astral Winds
Location: Various Locations - Battlecruiser Ryazar's Shield
Timeline: 1300Hrs- December 8th, 2391

Gabriel Yamaguchi went down the hallway, his aunt was nearby and he wanted to chat with her and catch up with her. Also he wanted to see these Akurians as he'd never met any before. He sighed as he reached his destination.

He walked onto the Operations area where Talon was sitting in her chair, she was tapping something on the display as she smiled when she spotted her nephew. "Hey Gabe."

Lieutenant Gabriel Yamaguchi smiled as he regarded his aunt by blood. "Hey Aunt Talon... Thanks for making time to see me."

"You're kin to me Gabe... How could I not?" Talon responded. "You met any of these guys yet?":

"No... this is my first time.." he admitted. "Mom and my sisters speak highly of them... Dad does too.. when he's calm.."

"I'm not happy about what happened to Jake or to April.." Talon responded quietly as she gently rubbed his shoulder, in a gesture of reassurance. "It'll be okay though..."

"Maybe.." Gabe responded. "I heard these guys had some wickedly advanced medical tech... Maybe they can help me with a problem.." he turned to Ryuukei who was nearby. "Are you all...so small and... adorable?"

Ryuukei was sitting at one of the gunnery plotting tables petting one of the cat's when he heard Gabe. Looking over at Gabriel he commented,
"Um, I guess my species is, why?"

"I ask out of curiosity." Gabriel responded. "I'm seeking assistance with a rather specific issue... Its to go with my mothers species genetics.... would you be willing to assist me with the matter?" he decided to go all in, something which Talon was not expecting, the look on her face made that statement plain as dawn on a planets surface.

Ryuukei shrugged. "Well, you will have to ask our CMO, I'm not exactly an expert on genetics so I am not sure if I can help."

Gabriel nodded his head, accepting the information for what it was. "Okay. I'll head on down to your sickbay then... I assume that is where I will find him or her then?"

Ryuukei nodded. "Yep, our CMO is another kurokuri, but he has a foxlike fur patter, he wont be hard to find."

Talon regarded her nephew, compassion in her eyes as she knew exactly how hard this was for him to do. She caught his eye as she slowly nodded to him, a smile appeared on her face as she did so.

Gabriel turned and walked off of the bridge, he paused. "Mmm... Where is sickbay.?" he asked himself.

One of the ships robots provided the needed directions without hassle, Gabriel nodded as he went off in the right direction. Ten minutes later he reached his destination, he went into the sickbay. "I thought this place would be easy to find.... I lost my way twice."

The first being to greet Gabriel was a cat, except this cat had a fur pattern similar to a kurokuri. The cat looked up at Gabriel and gave off a meow.

Gabriel smiled as he gently petted the kitty. "Hey little guy.... you lost?" he inquired of the cat. "Thats alright. I'm sure your companion is here somewhere.. thought... If nobody claims you... I may have to take you home myself.."

The cat gave off a purring Meow, which finally caught Anzan's attention. "Ah, there he is, I was looking for him."

Anzan gently picked up the purring feline, commenting," Yeah, this little guy really likes to explore."

"Well fair enough.." Gabriel responded. "He's friendly enough... I might look into obtaining a couple for myself.." he paused. "I'm looking for this ships Chief of Medical... Know where I might find him?" he inquired with a smile.

Anzan looked at Gabriel, saying. "Well that's me, what is it you need."

Gabriel paused as he went into his explanation about his situation, the entire run down took about five minutes to go into. "I was wondering if you guys could... help me deal with it."

Anzan though about the matter or a minute without comment, then he finally said. "Well I was able to help Kthaara on the matter, so with you I think I might be able to do something about it, however, your case sounds like it may be a bit more complicated, I'll need a blood sample first and see what I can find, also a semen sample too."

"Alright." Gabriel responded evenly. "Show me where I need to go and I'll provide what you require of me."

Anzan shrugged. "Well there isn't a huge rush, but there are empty private rooms in the back if you follow me."

"Thanks." Gabe responded as he followed the smaller being. "Go ahead and draw the blood first. It'll be quicker this way..."

Anzan pulled out a hypo from his medkit, and drew the blood, he then handed Gabe the sample cup saying," I'll be waiting in my office."

Gabe accepted the cup. "This won't take me long." as he went into the nearby bathroom, ten minutes later he returned looking a little warm as he regarded Anzan. "Thanks for waiting."

Anzan nodded and put the sample into temporary storage. "Alright, I still have a few other things to do." He picked up the purring cat, " Namely give this little guy his immunizations, but I should be able to start working on it tomorrow."

"Alright... Sounds good." Gabriel responded. "Thanks for your time Doctor."

Anzan then asked. "So do you want to see the kittens, this isn't the only one I have."

Gabriel paused. "Sure... " he responded with a smile. "How much for them?"

Anzan went to the closet where the door was slightly open, and opened up up further," Saying, I guess you are already sold on them huh."

There, at the floor of the closet, in a very large cat bed, the mother was nursing four kittens, barely 3 weeks old, all of them with the same kurokuri like fur pattern. Anzan started petting the mother, whom purred in response. "This is Naya, she is one of mine, but it will be a little while before the kittens are ready for a new home."

"They are adorable.. " Gabriel responded with a smile. "My mother has a small collection of cats... and apparently cats seem to like me. Both my sisters also have cats too except Elizabeth also has a monkey too." he shook his head. "I sometimes have trouble understanding my sisters.." he sighed softly while he shook his head.

Anzan looked up at Gabriel, saying," Kitties make everything better."
