Posted on Thu Mar 19th, 2020 @ 3:13am by Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson & Colonel Lee Antilles & Fleet Captain Coral 'Icecrown' Yamaguchi-Antilles
Mission:
Mission 101: The Restless Shades of the Past
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard / USS Yankee Clipper
Timeline: 1900Hrs - July 7th, 2393
Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson was tired, she had been reassigned as an attachment to the Ninety-Eighth fleet that had been assigned to the Taurus Reach, she was the commander of the second group, which was made up of battleships, all of them were Guardians and one was a Kumari class. Her direct subordinate was a Commodore who was flagging on another of the ships in the group and while Heather could hang out on Yankee Clipper's bridge, she did so as a guest as Captain Elizabeth Jones was the master and commander of her ship, but she and Heather did have an understanding that allowed both women to co-exist on the same bridge.
Yamaguchi-Johnson walked into her quarters which she had to herself as none of her seven children were present as she slipped off her uniform jacket and draped it over the sofa where she could grab it the next morning, Yamaguchi-Johnson had promised herself a long hot shower and then she would head on down to the holodeck and go for a swim in a swimming pool with some holographic lifeguards for company. Yamaguchi-Johnson went into her bedroom as she began stripping off off her clothing, moments later she was as nude as the day she was born before she went into the bathroom, she took a sex toy with her as she wished to help herself deal with various frustrations. Yamaguchi-Johnson smiled as she did so, she knew she was going to enjoy what was coming to her.
Yamaguchi-Johnson emerged from the bathroom twenty minutes later, feeling much refreshed and better then she had all day before she began drying herself off, she pulled open the top drawer of her closet before selecting the new set of underwear and her three bathing suits, one silver, and black striped one-piece suit, one dark blue one-piece suit, and a medium red two-piece suit. Yamaguchi-Johnson selected the silver and black one before she began pulling it on over her thighs, hips, and breasts. Then she donned her civilian clothing before she went out into the main area, she picked up a bag and a large towel which she would need when she was finished.
Yamaguchi-Johnson smiled as she slipped on a pair of runners she wore while off watch, now she looked every inch the civilian, rather than a Starfleet Admiral. When suddenly the com system beeped at her. "Bridge to Yamaguchi-Johnson. Ma'am, you have a message coming in from Starbase Vanguard."
"Okay, I'll take it down here," Yamaguchi-Johnson responded as she went to the large wall monitor, she tapped it once as the Federation's emblem appeared before her when suddenly a face from her past appeared before her. "Hey, Heather." Coral Antilles addressed her younger, now older sister. "I imagine that this is something of a surprise to you?."
"Coral... Is that you?" Yamaguchi-Johnson whispered. The look on her face said much and nothing, both at the same time.
"Yeah. Reports of my death were exaggerated somewhat. But the fact remains that I am indeed still alive and well." she commented as Heather mentally pulled herself together. She had been expecting Jake or Torilla or one of their children, maybe even her mother but not this. "So, what happened to you.?"
"The Pegasus created a keer loop made from superstring material, thanks to the weapons fire between the Pegasus and her foes," Coral explained. "We fell through it in an effort to escape our attackers, I'm going to assume that the explosion from our ejected warp core was what finished off the enemy."
"Yeah, you killed the entire pirate band Coral, we had all assumed you were lost killing all of them, but they killed all of you in the process," Yamaguchi-Johnson explained.
"Oh they very nearly succeeded all the same, Pegasus was crippled and she died making it into the dock at Starbase Vanguard. We're still waiting to hear about her fate." Coral answered.
"If you say that her main power system is dead then they'll scrap her... Besides Coral, we don't use Sovereigns in that version anymore, the Kelvin was heavily refitted and Pegasus would be scrapped, she is better off giving that name to a new spaceframe and you'd be severely over-ranked for a frigate anyway." Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed softly.
"The Sovereign is a frigate!?" Coral's response was loud and unexpected.
"No, the Kelvin is a Destroyer, the Sovereign isn't being used anymore." Yamaguchi-Johnson clarified for her older, now younger sibling.
"Oh.," Coral answered quietly. "I'm not sure of what to do now."
"Deal with the investigation when they get on with it, mostly it'll be a formality," Yamaguchi-Johnson explained.
"Yeah... But you and I have another issue to resolve." Coral paused, clearly unsure of what to say next.
"Your children... When do you want them returned?" Yamaguchi-Johnson knew what was coming and while she dreaded it, she knew she needed to address the elephant in this room.
"I have no claim to them, not anymore... Expecting you to return them would be unreasonable... You are their mother now." Coral responded quietly. "I had Warrick less than two months before I was recalled to take command of the Pegasus. He has no memory of me, the only one might, would be Julia as she was the eldest." Coral explained.
"No, she doesn't," Yamaguchi-Johnson explained softly. "All of your kids think that Stephen is their dad and I'm their mother. They still have yet to figure out that blonde is not my hair color. nor is it Stephens. But they do not really care about it."
"Thank you, Heather, for taking them all in and looking after them."
Yamaguchi-Johnson was many things but she was not stupid and nor was she blind, she knew exactly what was coming. "They are still your children.."
"No, they aren't," Coral answered quietly. "I carried them and I gave birth to them but you raised them, its only fair to them that you continue to raise them."
"Coral. I can't believe you're just gonna give up like that." Yamaguchi-Johnson responded, she felt powerless to change her sister's mind but she knew what Coral was saying and she hated that she agreed with her sibling on the matter.
"Heather. If I take them now, it will cause them mental and emotional trauma, it will distract and confuse them. At best... and upset and disorient them, at worst."
Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed deeply. "Yeah, you're right." she paused. "That doesn't mean I have to like it.. as I know you don't like it either."
"I don't. But I have to consider their best interests as well as my own." Coral answered. "Besides meeting Autumn, Ajal and the grandkids was worth something," Coral responded. "So I'm a grandmother to her three."
"How is Autumn doing?" Yamaguchi-Johnson inquired
"She's dealing with motherhood as best as she can. Its a challenge for her with three children but she has Ajal so its lightened her workload a lot. Plus the father of their children is involved as well, its an odd family dynamic but I can't deny that it works... Because it does work."
"I know." Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed. "You sure I can't change your mind?"
"No. You are their mother Heather, you should continue to remain as such." Coral responded evenly. "Yeah, its unfair to you and to me. But it's better that then letting these children be broken up, they've been together most of their lives and they should carry on, in time, they will understand."
Yamaguchi-Johnson nodded her head. "I will see to it that they do.."
"I must get going. Take care, Heather. Antilles out." and with that, the screen went black as Heather protested. "No, Coral wait!" but Coral had already hung up on her, as the Federation insignia appeared again as Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed softly, her next move was to call her husband and inform him of recent events, that Coral and Lee were both back from the dead and that things had changed but the situation regarding the kids would remain the same.
