Mission: Mission 49: The Stars Look Down
Location: Various Locations - USS Spirit of Winter
Timeline: 1200Hrs - November 9th, 2391

Commander Marcus Duval was presently looking over the menu as he was unsure of what he wanted for lunch, he heard a female voice address him as he slowly lowered the menu to be faced with his former boss and onetime friend. Commander Torilla Yamaguchi whom he had served with for four years on Starbase 45. "Well well.. What do we have here?"

"Marcus Duval, will wonders ever cease to grace my presence?" Torilla Yamaguchi commented with a smile. "Whats on your mind?"

"Lunch..." Duval rumbled.

"Ahh... Same as me, lets eat." Yamaguchi responded with a smile.

"Sounds good to me... and maybe I can decide what I want to eat." Duval responded before he got in the lineup for the replicators.

Torilla smiled as she entered the lineup for the replicators, behind Duval, clearly still keeping her trim, figure for a woman of her years. "You've not changed a bit Marcus." she smiled.

"No. I got older." Duval responded with a smile

"Hows Mia doing?" Yamaguchi inquired of his Bajoran wife who she had served with before and she also knew that Duval had to be missing her company.

"She's good... I know she misses me and the kids..." he smiled. "Maybe she'll replace Montgomery when he moves onto his next posting in starfleet." he paused a moment. What on Valhalla are you doing here?"

Torilla smiled. "I need a reason to visit with a friend?" she inquired in a coy manner as she smiled.

"Wouldn't your husband protest?" Duval inquired.

"Nah. I'm here on business... of having lunch.." Yamaguchi responded with a smile. "Besides... I was not expecting you." her eyes twinkled with amusement. "and its not like you're bedding me." she paused.

"So.. Hows thing with you and the Courageous?" Duval inquired.

"Ahh well I could complain but... I can't be bothered really... No point to it all and it just pisses off everyone involved.." he regarded him before she too one step forward to the replicator, she tapped the display as she placed her order. What appeared before her was a bowl of fries drenched in pulled pork and sauce. It smelt great as she smiled. "Mmmm... I feel like eating something unhealthy for a change."

"Fair enough.." Duval responded with a smile as he ordered his own lunch which was honestly even more unhealthy then Torilla's choice, his was a simple double cheeseburger and fries.

Torilla sat down at the table she had selected earlier, Duval sat down across from her before both of them started on their food, he knew that Torilla often didn't like to mix conversation with eating so he obliged her by eating his dinner, which he greatly enjoyed.

About fifteen minutes of silence while they ate, Duval thought that the base replicators were in excellent shape and could make a dammed fine burger.

Torilla smiled as she appreciated his thoughtfulness in regards to their silence, he knew her well and remembered her habits or so it seemed. "So... what do you have planned for the rest of today?"

"Well I need to meet with my new assistants whenever she gets here.... They sent me a Klingon... I hope she's more then bluster, piss and wind because I got not time for that honor crap they are always force feeding others."

"I assume she is still a starfleet officer... so look at her from that perspective first... maybe she will suprise you." Yamaguchi responded with a smile.

"I can hope... Last thing I want is the bombastic type..." Duval responded.

"Well.. When she gets here, just keep an open mind.... It can't be all bad right..?" Yamaguchi smiled.

"You're right." Duval conceded defeat gracefully. "I'll keep an open mind... But.. I'm not gonna get my hopes up."

"That's fine... Just remember to keep an open mind." Torilla smiled. "Thanks for the company."

"Thanks for lunch." Duval responded before the two went their separate ways.
