Commander Celeste Yamaguchi had a feeling that something was wrong when she missed her cycle two weeks ago, she kept hoping it was simply late and not one she had skipped but the professional Doctor in Celeste knew better. Now she was standing in her bathroom wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top.
'You are pregnant.' her mind said to her. 'Go check... and tell me I'm wrong.' and now a week later she had worked up the courage to look herself in the mirror as she retrieved her medkit and as she held the tricorder in her shaking hand, she didn't know if she could do it.
"Can't stop gazing at that beautiful woman in the mirror, can you Celeste?" Brianna asked Celeste in a jocular fashion.
Celeste turned to regard the other woman. "Brianna... Would you mind?" she asked softly. "Its already set... just give me a checkup... I have... a funny feeling.." she paused as she waited.
"Um, okay." Bri wasn't entirely comfortable operating the tricorder. "I'm not a medtech but I'll give it a shot." Hobbs then scanned Yamaguchi. "Hmm, according to this you are in good health. Oh, and your pregnant." Brianna sighed. "I knew I would screw up your check up. Maybe you should have a real medtech look you over?"
Celeste regarded the other woman. "No." she responded quietly as she gently plucked the tricorder out of Brianna's hand, she then did the same scan on herself. "I thought so.," she admitted. "Now I need to decide... Do I want this... or do I abort..?" she sighed softly.
Brianna let out a giggle. "How did you get preggers? Have you been cheating on me?'' The smile dissolved off her face when she remembered the incident with Ro'cholk. "Oh." Brianna replied in a flat tone. "I see your dilemma now." Bri then let out a long sigh. "The short answer is that it is your body and you should decide what is best for you. However, I'm sure you want a better than that." Bri sat up on the sink. "If you have this child you will always remember what that horrible rapist did to you. It will be a legacy of pain that will probably always sting. No child no crime." Hobbs stated without emotion. "On the other hand, should the child be punished for the father's sins?" Bri asked.
Celeste's mind had started to wander when she saw the results but Brianna's voice brought her back. "Mmm..." Celeste pondered. "You make a good point.. But Lets face it.. He used me to get to you, to hurt you. Nothing more.." as she rested one hand over her abdomen. "Am I really pregnant?" she asked herself. "When I go in... I'll ask Tanya to give me the once over and I'll also ask her to give this pregnancy the once over too. make sure there are no issues or complications.."
"if your are looking for complications may I assume your are favoring to keep the child?" Brianna asked carefully.
Celeste turned her head as she regarded the other woman. "I am considering it." she admitted quietly. "I'll admit this is not how I wanted it to happen.... but..I did want a child of my own."
Bri nodded. It was Celeste's decision and Bri was glad that the choice wasn't tearing at her lover. "I would still have a chat with the ship's councilor." Brianna suggested.
Celeste smiled. "You forget that I see her three times a week... She jokes that I see her more then her husband does.."
"Okay." Brianna replied. "Just remember that I am always here for you."
"I know.." Celeste could say a lot of other words on the subject. "Besides. I don't really have time to really brood on recent events. Pava and Pasha tend to watch over me like a pair of mother hens.."
"They do but they are not adults." Brianna told Celeste. "If you need to talk to some one. please think of me first."
"I always do." Celeste responded. "Pasha and Pava help... As best as they can.... but they won't be around for much longer." Celeste sighed.
"They are of age... and I suspect the Andorian government is going to want me to send them the twins..." a sigh escaped her lips. "While their reproduction issues have been sorted out... they still need every single Andorian... even my two."
"One thing at a time." Hobbs told Yamaguchi. "you have a big decision to make. Worry about that first. Then you can worry about the twins."
Celeste regarded Brianna. "My choice... Is really simple... Do I keep the baby... or no?" as she slowly smiled. "I'll keep it... Maybe we can do a better job with Ro'chuck two point Oh."
"I would consider Ro'chulk as nothing more than a biological material donor. Your child will be a Klingon version of Celeste Yamaguchi." Brianna told her.
Celeste smiled warmly at the other woman, it wasn't something one normally saw on her face much these days. "Well... I was going to go to the local sperm bank after we discussed the matter at length.. " she simply shrugged. "I guess... It moved the issue to the top of my lengthy to do list.... which seems to be getting longer almost by the hour."
"You have too much to do." Brianna stated. "After we get things cleared up with the twins, you need to take some time off."
Celeste could only nod her head in agreement. "I know... but in the end. It doesn't matter as I don't even know if its viable.... It might not be... I need to be sure before I do anything else.." Celeste then gently slipped her arms around Hobb's frame as she gently hugged her. "Just... hold me a moment?" she asked softly
