Mission: Mission 41: The Changing of the Guard
Location: Various Locations - USS Argonne
Timeline: 0950Hrs - August 19th, 2391

Several people in starbase 12 turned their heads curiously as a fighter force commander walked by, singing the Soviet national anthem.

Soyuz nerushimy respublik svobodnykh
Splotila naveki velikaya Rus'!
Da zdravstvuyet sozdanny voley narodov
Yediny, moguchy Sovetsky Soyuz!

Flight Commander Aleksei Sergeyev approached the on-ramp to the USS Argonne, where a starfleet lieutenant looked at him curiously.

Aleksei looked over at the woman wearing operations red and lieutenant pips, "privet, kak ty eto prekrasnoye utro." {Translated - hello, how are you this fine morning. }

Heather LaMonica greeted him in flawless Russian. "" YA khoroshiy blagodarya .... Kak vy ?. Tak redko ya kogda-nibud' vstretit' kogo-to , kto mozhet govorit' na moyem yazyke . " she addressed him in russian. (I'm fine thanks. How are you?. So I rarely ever meet who can speak my language)

Aleksei nodded and replied with ," priyatno , pozvolyayet pet' slavnuyu sovetskuyu gimn to ." {Translated - Nice, lets sing the glorious soviet national Anthem}

" Otlichno . Davayte pokazhem etim kazach'i capitolist sviney , kak nastoyashchiye muzhchiny i zhenshchiny poyut !. Posle vas. " LaMonica responded, a wide grin on her face. (Excellent . Let's show this Cossack kapitolist pigs, like real men and women sing!. After you.)

The two of them then walked onto the ship singing the soviet national anthem.

Soyuz nerushimy respublik svobodnykh
Splotila naveki velikaya Rus'!
Da zdravstvuyet sozdanny voley narodov
Yediny, moguchy Sovetsky Soyuz!

Slav'sya, Otechestvo nashe svobodnoye,
Druzhby narodov nadyozhny oplot!
Partiya Lenina - sila narodnaya
Nas k torzhestvu Kommunizma vedyot!

Skvoz' grozy siyalo nam solntse svobody,
I Lenin veliky nam put' ozaril,
Na pravoye delo on podnyal narody,
Na trud i na podvigi nas vdohnovil!

V pobede bessmertnyh idey Kommunizma
My vidim gryadushcheye nashey strany,
I Krasnomu znameni slavnoy Otchizny
My budem vsegda bezzavetno verny!

The two of them entered the bridge on the last verse, catching the eyes of everyone as they got on the bridge.

Nye came out of his ready room onto the bridge. "What the hell is that racket?" He shouted. "That sounds worse than a Klingon Opera."

"Computer Deactivate Universal Translator, Bridge only." LaMonica muttered ever so softly, in a cool tone before she added. "Kto eto kapitalisticheskaya sobaka ?, i kto on takoy, chtoby oskorbit' nashu peniye .... YA zastavlyu yego chuvstvovat' bol' , kak on nikogda ne predstavlyal sebe ". LaMonica sighed softly before she snatched the bottle from the pilots hands, she then took one big swig of it before she broke into song again, a rendition of the Soviet Anthem at the top of her lungs. (Who capitalist dog?. And who is he to insult our singing?. I'll make him feel pain like he never imagined)

Aleksei had a big grin on his face, then looked at Nye saying," chto vy ishchete u vas amerikanskogo svin'i. " (that you are looking for you American pigs)

"I don't understand what your saying." Nye told the two.

"They're speaking Russian, Lucas." Anjou told them.

"Russian?" Nye ignored the use of his first name by Anjou. "What in the hell are they saying?"

Anjou thought for a moment. "They are praising the commander of the ship. It's a Russian tradition." Anjou told them.

"Do they have to get drunk?" Nye asked.

"It is part of the Tradition," Anjou replied.

"And they are praising me?" Nye asked.

"They love you," Anjou told him.

Aleksei looked over at Anjou, smiling and speaking in english for the first time since getting on the ship," Comrade, you are my new best friend now, you have good sense of humor."

"Thank you my friend." Anjou replied. "I think we are thinking the same thing. Why don't you tell the Colonel how much your respect him, in Po-Russkie."

Aleksei gave a soviet style salute," YA uvazhayu tebya stol'ko, skol'ko ya uvazhayu der'mo , chto vykhodit iz moyey zadnitse." {Translated - I respect you as much as i respect the shit that come out of my ass}

Anjou looked over at Nye. "He says it is a privilege and an honor to serve under a man of your high caliber."

Nye smiled at Aleksei. "He said that?" He asked Anjou.

"Yes Colonel. He thinks you are a great man." Anjou told Nye as the marine smiled at the thought.

LaMonia lifted the bottle to her lips as she toasted him by calling him "Nekul'turnykh svinoy" {Translated - Uncultured Swine}

"What did she say?" Nye asked Anjou.

"She said you are a vital man and if she wasn't already married, she would bed you." Anjou replied.

Nye had a wide grin on his face. "You now, normally this kind of behavior would seriously piss me off but I kinda like these two."

Aleksei looked over at LaMonica, saying," Libo etot paren' imeyet chuvstvo yumora ili on pryamo-taki glupo." {Translated - Either this guy has a sense of humor or is downright stupid}

LaMonica shrugged. "Net, on prosto zaderzhivayetsya." (No. He's just retarded.)

Anjou looked at the both of them before returning his attention back to Nye. "Colonel, it is part of the tradition that you dismiss them to quarters to sleep of the booze." Anjou politely suggested.

Nye thought for a second. "Alright, they really made my day. They can go to their quarters to rest." Nye looked at the two officers. "Your dismissed."

Aleksei looked over at LeMonica, " Nu, ya ne sobirayus' sporit' s chelovekom." {Translated- well im not going to argue with the man}

LaMonica smiled as she saluted him with the bottle before she turned and went onto the turbolift, she decided that she needed to call her wife and share this development with her.
