Moving Day

Mission: Mission 41: The Changing of the Guard
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs - 12th August, 2391

Lt Commander Lasky walked onto the bridge, PADD in hand as he was still doing paperwork from the previous shift which he had yet to complete, he sighed softly before he tapped the 'DONE' Button and now at long last he was finally finished. "Morning Luhanna... Whats going on today?"

Luhanna Wintersnow simply handed Lasky a PADD. "Today's agenda." she said simply. "Today... is moving day."

"Lovely... its about time."

Teval walked onto the bridge with one of Ryuukei's siblings, Arumi, and said," Yeah, today we swap saucers. Though the old one will stay here in dock for the next three months' so plenty of time to move our shit out."

"Alright... When is this event taking place... and who's actually flying us?" Lasky inquired.

Teval pulled up his PADD," Well, the stardrive section is pretty much immobilized, and right now, most of the helmsmans are on leave right now. So we will do this by moving the saucers. Kameron has volunteered for one of them."

"Kameron... as in Kameron Yamaguchi?.." Lasky responded. "His transfer request came across my desk yesterday... I approved it." he sighed. "Alright.. lets get this done." he paused. "who's flying the other saucer?"

"Kamerons got the other one, its this one we don't have a pilot for right now," Teval added.

"I'll handle it." Lasky responded. "Not often I get to fly something like this." he breathed out. "Its like driving a very very very large fighter... except in super duper slow motion.."

Teval just nodded, saying," its all your's."

Lasky went and sat down at the conn. "Alright folks... Lets do this." he paused before turning to Rykar. "Would you mind getting me clearance to proceed from the Starbase?"

Rykar nodded, contacted the starbase, and then moments later said," O.K. tom, your clear."

"Alright.." Lasky responded. "and... releasing docking latches to secondary hull." he paused. "engaging thrusters..." as he muttered. "impulse engines aren't permitted in spacedock.." he added as he effortlessly moved Roanoke's saucer section upwards relative to her hull section as he nodded to Rykar. "Tell Kameron he's clear to proceed." Lasky said quietly.

Rykar nodded and sent the relevant information to Kameron.

Lieutenant Yamaguchi watched the displays before him as he activated the new Saucers engine systems to slowly get her underway. "Come on big girl... lets show these people what you're made of." as he watched the displays before he killed the display on the main viewscreen as he found it distracting.

"Moving.." he muttered softly as he guided the saucer section to where she needed to go to dock with Roanoke's hull section, about ten minutes later he smiled as he watched the two sections line up, he gently tapped the thruster activation toggle once. "moving at one and a half meters per second."

"Confirmed." came the response from Lasky who was now safety out of the way. "Easy." Kameron muttered to himself as he watched the two sections begin closing together as he guided the saucer into place.
"I'm in... securing engines... and... there we go."

The collision between the two was very gentle and smooth as he activated the docking clamps, as the new saucer became a part of the USS Roanoke.

"Nice Flying Kameron." came Lasky's voice.

"Yeah, some days you get lucky.."

Teval nodded, "Alright, well we might as well take a look at the new saucer then."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "We're secure where we are..." as he rose to his feet while an Ensign relieved him of his job. "Lets go check out our new digs."

Upon first arriving at the new Saucer, the group walked into a turbolift and Teval said, "Deck one."

Once the turbolift reched their destination, Teval stepped out of the turbolift, and immediately noticed something was off, "This isn't the bridge." Looking around all he saw was a lounge area and a small bar.

Lasky looked around. "Different.." he mused. "So where's the bridge?" he then shrugged. "Aww fuck it.. might as well have myself a drink... anyone want anything?.... assuming this place is stocked at all?" as he went over to the bar.

It was then that Ryuukei decided to Add," Oh, yeah, thats right, the bridge of this new saucer is on Deck 5 now. Its next to the lower hangar control room and fighter operations."

Teval asked, "Um, isnt the computer core normally there."

Ryuukei shook his head," The computer core for this saucer is much smaller, its no longer this giant thing that takes up six decks."

Lasky peered into the empty bar but he found it was well stocked. "Well someone was in a good mood.." he commented as he pried loose a bottle of Rigellian Whiskey. "Nice.."

Teval looked around the observation deck before saying," Well for once, a federation ship puts the bridge in a sensible location."
