Mission: Mission 39: By Fire be Purged
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0900Hrs - July 29th 2391

Flight Tech first class Rachael Yamaguchi, callsign of Firebird looked up at Phoenix. "I don't mean to be a pain Colonel but I still don't have my wings." she responded. "Best we can do is call this a training hop." she added.

"Oh I've got that figured out," Phoenix smiled happily. "I miss flyin' with ya. Granted, I didn' think I'd be your reel... but it's tha best I get for Task Group Air Commander."

Rachael nodded. "Okay, fair enough." and with that she started her walk around, taking her sweet time about it, making sure that everything worked properly with Phoenix assisting her. Everything looked fine so the two women climbed into their bird and off they went. "So... Col..Phoenix I mean... you ever wonder if you're having fun out here... I mean boring holes through the fabric of space.?" Firebird inquired.

"Besides fuckin' my wife, flyin' is tha only time I ever have fun," Phoenix answered as she claimed into her fighter.

Rachael chuckled. "Sounds like me and Ennis for the last few days." she responded. "It was great... I can't tell you how I missed getting laid." she sighed happily. "Now I'm actually considering having more children." she paused. "What about you and Siaxx.... you two ever consider having children?"

"She wants them," Phoenix smiled brightly. "We'll start figurin' it out when she's ready."

"Maybe you should ask her tonight over dinner." Rachael responded. "When did you ask her last?"

"Before we got married," Phoenix blushed. "It was a nice ceremony."

Rachael slowly moved the fighter into position on the deck as the shooter and his crew got the bird ready for launch. Rachael waited in silence as the shooter gave her a thumbs up before he saluted her.

Rachael returned his salute with a thumbs up before tossing a salute back to him. "Ready back there..?" Firebird inquired. "We're about to be gone.." as she slammed the throttle forward and off she went out of he hanger bay, on the usual CAP assignments with a half squadron of other warbirds.

"Jetfire didn' like me slottin' my bird for you... Bit of an old school guy, he is." Phoenix smiled, and laughed. "In the end he saw your sim hours and decided I had a good choice."

"Well Jetfire earned the right to be critical," Rachael responded. "Otherwise he wouldn't be Jetfire." the pilot slowly brought the fighter around. "Okay... ready to proceed."

"Running passive gravaton scans," Phoenix spoke into the flight recorder.

"Not a peep out of anything else." Rachael responded. "Anything?"

"All quiet so far," Phoenix agreed. "So you an' Ennis gonna pop a baby out together at some point?"

Rachael chuckled softly. "We're still in the planning stages.... but I am considering having more kids." as she checked the displays before her. "Ennis has all but filed adoption papers for Saki... and he seems to be one of a few who can get that kid to behave."

"It's cause she respects him," Phoenix supplied quickly. "She don' like folks that belittle her smarts... Ennis challenges her ta be better than she is. Same as Gyce does."

"Saki is extremely intelligent." Rachael responded quietly. "I wonder if my future children will be like that..."

"Depends on who ya let'em interact with... She had a dad like Ennis?" Phoenix whistled in amazement. "Genius... Look at Sarah. That kid loves ta learn. Top of her class too, as a result."

Rachael slowly smiled. "Sarah and I get along quite well." she explained. "Hell.. Saki loves her."

"Do you love his kids as your own?" Phoenix asked very sagely.

"I do yes." Rachael responded. "Sarah respects me and she loves having me around and Daniel... that little guy loves me."

"Then I'd say.... tell him you want more," Phoenix suggested. "Let's try moving to grid six and seeing if anything pops up."

"Sounds good to me." Rachael smiled. "Confirmed." in response to her second statement.

"Any holoprogams you thinkin' of introducing tha kids to?" Phoenix asked conversationally as she began to scan again.

"I can think of some that I'd like to see." she responded. "I'll talk it over with Ennis, he's got a lot more skills with kids then I do.." she paused. "I'm not going to replace Sarah or Daniels' mother...I'm going to carry on from where she left off.." Rachael sighed.

"That's what I'm tryin' ta do with Aryssa," Jill admitted with sadness. "Kid worships her. So I don' wanna replace her."

"Then don't.." Rachael responded with a smile. "But when you do become pregnant, make sure that Aryssa knows when and also make sure she feels valued and wanted.."

"I wanna make sure she knows I love her as often as I can," Jill assured. "Kid's been through a lot... more an' what anyone should have ta go through."

"Best you can do Jill... its just be there for her when she needs you... but she too has to want you in her life..."

"She wants me now... Didn' see 'at until I crashed on that moon," Jill laughed wryly. "Kid is stubborn like me."

"At least you two sorted most of your issues." Rachael smiled. "I missed my friend... and whats this I heard about her overdosing on AM194?" she inquired. "that drug is so fucking potent... whoever gave that to her should be taken out back and beaten."

"See saw me huggin' tha twins, an' thought I gave up on 'er... Hit bottom," Jill noted sadly. "I didn' know she'd come in ta Sickbay ta see me. No one did. An' she saw me tryin' ta calm Nix down when Tory tried to get ta know him."

"Jill... you gave my siblings life..." Rachael responded softly as she cleared her throat. "Mmm.." she had to choke back tears. "Without you...I dunno." she admitted. "They'd both be dead and mom too.."

"At tha expense of makin' my own feel neglected," Jill countered. "..Cause I gave up tryin' ta win her acceptance too soon. An' she don' read thoughts like you. So she only knows actions."

Rachael smiled. "Jill.. you made mistakes, it makes you flaws like the rest of us... we all make them but its what you do afterwards and what you learn from them, that's what counts in the end... does Aryssa want you in her life?"

"She does now, yes," Jill admitted with a relaxed sigh. "Took an OD ta do it."

"Better late.. then never at all Jill." Rachael responded with a smile. "at least she came through alright."

"We still have our fights... but they aint ones where we're tryin' ta hurt each other," Jill explained. "Typical teenager stuff, really."

"At least you two are able to co-exist.... How does Siaxx feel of all of this?" Rachael inquired.

"I honestly don' know.... She didn' exactly care for Aryssa's attitude before we married. So I dunno if she wants ta try an' co-parent her." Phoenix looked down at her scanners and sighed, "Still all clear."

Rachael raised an eyebrow. "Did you ever ask her?" she inquired. "Siaxx might be many things but she doesn't tolerate people giving her crap."

"I guess I'll ask her when we get back ta tha barn," Jill promised.

"Alright.. then I will leave that one for you two to chat about later." Rachael smiled. "So... where to now leaderman?"

"I'll let you pick," Phoenix spoke happily. "You've got good judgement when ya fly. So why not?"

"Well... I prefer to have others remain concerned over my movements... so I fly with a purpose and I shoot when I have to.." Rachael smiled. "Keeps it from going to my head.." she added. "Plus I have children I love and a man who loves me."
