Inspecting the Armory

Mission: Mission 37: The Troubles and Tribbles
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - July 16th, 2391

InspeRear Admiral Jake Yamaguchi was borrowing Captain Zara Tane's office while the good Captain was on medical leave as Lt Commander Siaxx Dvald was standing before him. "Admiral, since you are here... I have a list of issues I'd like to get cleaned up." she handed him a PADD

Yamaguchi accepted the PADD as he raised an eyebrow. "The Armory.." he commented before he tapped his combadge. "Yamaguchi to the Master at Arms, could I see you in the Captains ready room please and thanks..?"

Gunther arrived a few minutes later saying, "Yes admiral, is there something I can help you with."

Jake held up the PADD in his hand. "I heard your armory sucks. You got two hours so we can go over it?" he inquired.

Gunther gave him a look," Just two hours."

"That bad.... well lets go see how bad your armory is... maybe I'll find gifts for my family... if you want to part with them, that is.." Jake responded as the two men went out the door and into the turbolift.

Gunther didnt say anything as they went to the armory. Opening the door, the armory was already an overstuffed mess, with Gunther commenting, "Since this ship is the dustbin of the fleet, we have just about anything in here imaginable."

"Woah.." Yamaguchi looked around. "Alright... lets start the tour... what do you have and what do you need?"

Gunther shrugged," Well, we have a lot. Like look at this locker over here." Gunther opened it up and in there was four 2254 era laser pistols, fourteen 2266 era phaser pistols, seven 2260's era phaser rifles, a 2151 era phase pistol, and an even older EM pistol. There whas also a collection of other older phaser psitols ranging from the 2270's up to the 2330's. Gunther commented " They all still work by the way."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as he lifted a laser pistol that was well over a century and a half old. "Seriously.." he smiled. "This thing would be worth a fortune to a collector." he added as he looked around. "Just how much of this stuff... do you have?" he paused a moment. "Dio you have blades too?"

Gunther opened up the next locker saying, "This is a weapon from my old homeland." as pulled out a MG 42.

Jake looked at the weapon in question. "Impressive... who owns all these... and do they all work?" he sounded like he didn't believe it, before he lifted a second weapon, this one was a type of Assault rifle he didn't recognize.

Gunther nodded, "Yep they all work, several years back we arrested and put away a woman whom was involved in some illegal crap on the ship, and her weapons where confiscated as a result. She had a fascination with old 20th century earth weapons. Now keep in mind, these weapons where not actually produced in the 20th century, they where produced using a modern replicator, and using more modern metals as well, but aside from the material, these weapons are very accurate replica's of the originals. The weapon your holding is an AK-47, one of the most prolific weapons of the 20th century."

"I'm seeing that." Jake responded. "How do you look after all of this stuff?" he inquired. "I also see why Siaxx mentioned it to me."

Gunther shrugged, "I have a pretty decent armory staff." He opened up the next locker, and pulled out a Katana, "Then there is this little gem."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Impressive... are you guys an armory or a weapons exhibit?" he inquired.

Gunther shrugged," I have no idea."

"Okay... so what do you need in terms of weapons and the like?" Yamaguchi inquired. "Mind if I liberate a few of these hand held weapons... my kin will love a few... especially that glave there." he indicated the rather evil looking blade in the back.

"Well I have already given away a few weapons," Gunther replied. "Toshnarr got a warhammer, Varkon got an automatic grenade launcher, only thing we really need is some of the newer kit. Some more of the current model phaser rifles and support weapons. We are kinda short on those as we mostly have older stuff. Also we can use a few more microtransporter attachments."

"Yeah, consider it done.... make sure you write it down for me so I can be sure you get everything."

Jake reached in as he lifted the glave. "Oh wow... been many years since I seen one of these.." he paused. "This is an Halanan weapon... Torilla is going to love this."

"Well if you want it, its yours."

"Thank you Senior Chief." Yamaguchi responded. "What do you do with all these old weapons?" he inquired. "how do you store your new stuff?"

Gunther looked over at the pile of broken weapons," Well, if i can just get rid of the non working crap, I'll have enough room to fit in all the new kit."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow "None working crap... how bad is your situation.?"

Gunther picked up one of the dead phaser rifles, saying, " well if we needed to arm the whole crew, about a third of them would need to use the antiques in here."

Yamaguchi sighed. "Alright.. I'm going to have your entire weapons stocks overhauled and replaced with all new gear." he responded. "All your old crap... recyle all of it and I'll have the Avalon deliver a consignment of new weapons.... you'll get the first shipment of the new gear straight from R&D." he paused. "you'll also have another half dozen spaces scattered around the ship for your uses. but you're guys will need to decide what they wanna keep and toss."

Gunther looked over at the collectibles saying," Well in all honestly, I think we should keep the antiques, they all work fine and give the ship character."

"Absolutely. Yeah, don't get rid of the antiques... you nuts Senior Chief... I want a few of them for use in the firing range..."
