Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - The Taurus Reach
Timeline: 0930Hrs - June 27th, 2393

Captain Ariel Gilmore smiled as she walked onto her bridge after leaving the Starbase. "Commander?. Where are we?"

"We're ready to get underway as soon as you give us the word skipper." Commander Marcus Bowman answered, with a smile. "We never sent anyone onto the base so the entire crew is ready to get underway." her first officer reported which brightened Gilmore's mood considerably. "Excellent, get us underway, heading for Sector ten three ninety-four. Here in the Taurus Reach."

"Yessir." Bowman turned. "Helm, seal the airlock and release docking clamps," he commented

The young woman, presently seated at Conn nodded her head in compliance. "Aye sir, sealing the airlock and releasing the clamps," she commented, the model of professionalism on the bridge.

Lieutenant Leslie MacLeod smiled. "Hello and goodbye Starbase Vanguard. Our visit almost didn't happen," he commented softly. "What's going on skipper?" he inquired of Gilmore.

"There will be a senior staff briefing in ten minutes, we're going hunting for a missing Federation ship," Gilmore explained as she sat down in her command chair, before she tapped the display on her armrest once, a console folded out from the bulkhead to her right. Gilmore quickly called up the display she wanted before the human-looking female tapped out the information she wanted and sent it off to the various people assigned.

The USS Charal slowly moved away from the starbase before the stars suddenly elongated as she went into warp. Gilmore rose from her chair as she moved into the observation lounge which was behind the bridge. Most of the senior staff present on the bridge followed her.

Gilmore went over to the large wall monitor as she tapped it a few times, calling up the information she wanted. The personnel from her senior staff was filing in as she was working on the information she wished. Moments later the last of her senior staff came in as the chief engineer smiled as he selected a chair for himself.

"Alright. Thank you all for coming. We've been asked to handle a rather delicate assignment." Gilmore explained with a gentle smile. "This is the USS Simpson. She has ignored a recall order and we've been asked to go and retrieve her."

"Wait. let me get this right." Kaylen Chegwidden inquired, she was the middle child of Admiral AJ Chegwidden but she had deliberately selected a career path that would keep her away from her father's shadow, commendable Gilmore thought to herself as she regarded the younger woman before her. "A Starfleet vessel ignored a recall order and has gone on the run. This is shocking." the young woman said. "I don't think this has ever happened before," she added, but she sounded unsure of herself.

"It hasn't." came the unexpected comment from Xander Moreland who was the ships Chief of Security, he was not the type who said a lot but when he did, it was worth listening to. He was human and Romulan rather than Human and Vulcan as his mother had spent some time as the aide to a Romulan diplomat, Xander was born a year later and this woman ended up living on Vulcan with her Romulan spouse who would end up making the desert world his home. After he was expelled from the Romulan Star Empire as a result of Xander being born but now with the fall of the Empire, he was working for the Romulan Republic with people like D'Tan and his people. His wife was working alongside him along with two of their other children.

Xander himself was serving on the USS Charal as their Chief of security, he was eager to show the Federation and everyone else that a Romulan could be a force for good, rather than a force for their own interests. "I checked the Starfleet database, there are no other reports of Federation ships going mustang like this." he paused. "The Commander of the ship will attempt to get rid of those who do not wish to join him."

Gilmore nodded. "That would make logical sense. It would also tie down the resources of the ship sent after them and delay the capture effort."

Bowman regarded his commanding officer. "We could ask Vanguard to send out the Gaarni to assist us with this effort, if we find anything, the Gaarni can look after that while we hunt for our quarry."

"Not a bad idea. I'll ask Admiral Lasky to consider it." Gilmore responded with a smile.

Leslie MacLeod smiled. "An Akira class destroyer is no match for us in terms of firepower and speed. We severely outclass them in every regard. They have to know this."

"They do. I don't think they care either way." Riley Sutton commented, the chief counselor regarded the people assembled at the table with her dark brown eyes as she brushed her hair out of her eyes. "They will seek to go somewhere we can't go or we can't find them."

Mesai Emble, a large Nigerian looking man from one of Earth's colonies suddenly spoke up, his accent had an almost musical sound to it. "Are there any hidey holes or bolt holes in this region?" the massive man inquired, his arms were the size of Gilmore's legs as he truly was enormous but he got around it by being gentle with everyone around him. He was a gentle giant who loved his work.

"Yes, there are four of them." Naris Terisso explained, she was the only Boslic among the senior staff and one of only three Boslic's among the entire crew. "The first is in the K'Torr asteroid drift. About ten light-years from here, the second is in a small emissions nebula, twelve light years, the third is located on a Rogue planet that's about six light years from us and the last is on a rogue comet that's passing between two star systems that are about a half light year apart." the Boslic female explained. "Of those, one was eliminated by the USS Incheon last week and two of those will be dealt with, also by the USS Incheon within the next week or so. This leaves the Rogue planet."

Gilmore nodded her head. "Alright, we'll head there then. Major Dace, I'm going to be asking you and your marines to board the USS Simpson and secure her, when we do catch up to her," she explained evenly before she turned to the other human female in the room. Rachael Aquilla who had a mocha skin complexion and bright blue eyes, she also had a lovely smile and a smattering of freckles across her face. What really made her stand out was her locks of blonde hair on her head. "Lieutenant, if the Simpson starts then I'm going to want to disable her, how you do that, is up to you," she explained to the younger woman before her.

"I'll arrange one of my little surprises for her." the dark-skinned blonde responded with a rather evil smile.

"Thank you." as Gilmore regarded Chegwidden. "El Tee. Set a course for that Rogue planet, I'm guessing that stealth is a waste of effort so I won't bother with it." the older female paused a moment "Alright, anyone got anything else they need to discuss?"

There was silence so Gilmore brought the meeting to a speedy conclusion. "Alright, lets go to it then. Dismissed."
