Division Admiral Lasky smiled as he regarded the information on the PADD in his hand about the new commander of the USS Charal, one of the new Kumari class battleships that was only now entering the regular fleet lineup, except for some reason Starbase Vanguard had been detailed one of these and Lasky was not about to pass it up, instead he realized that Captain Ariel Gilmore would become highly useful to his command. He needed her to see that she was worth a lot to him and to his command.

He was sitting in his office as he regarded the notes of the two ships that had been recalled earlier. One of them, the USS John Paul Jones had already arrived and had been secured, her crew was reportedly cooperating with the investigation, all of which helped Lasky's mood. What was presently bothering Lasky was that the USS Simpson had gone dark and he knew he would need to send someone after her, Suddenly the doorbell beeped at him as Lasky realized he had forgotten the time. "Its open!" he called out.

The door opened and in walked Captain Ariel Gilmore. "Admiral Lasky, I'm Captain Ariel Gilmore. You sent for me sir?" the youthful-looking human-looking female inquired, she had a cheery smile on her face and she came across as someone who enjoyed life.

"I did, have a seat, Ariel," Lasky answered as he placed the PADD down onto his desk, face up. He smiled as he regarded her.

Gilmore did as he requested as she regarded Lasky, she had read up on him and he was a former pilot who had some very serious combat training. "What can I do for you?"

"Well. You command the most powerful ship in my command so I intend to have you doing a lot of things, You probably have a full ship's crew already but a lot of my ships don't have full crews yet and some don't even have skippers either. So, if you have any senior people or department heads that could benefit then please, send their files to me and I'll make arrangements for them." Lasky explained, he knew that many members of Gilmore's crew had been together for a long time and some could be putting their careers on hold out of loyalty. Lasky respected that and he was not about to poach from her crew.

Gilmore smiled. "I'll pass that along to my people sir," she responded. "It's not often that kind of an offer comes along and since you are kind enough to offer it, I'll make sure my crew gets the option to consider it for themselves."

"Alright. I'll leave that with you. But I do have another problem that requires immediate attention. See your assignment here was no accident as I specifically requested you and I'm glad that Starfleet was good enough to send you to me." Lasky explained. "I required someone of your skillset." he commented.

"Well, its always nice to have good references sir, what's the issue that needs dealing with?" Gilmore could read his thoughts and his mind easily enough but she prefered to hear it from him, his thoughts were extremely well guarded which meant he had a formidable strength of will or he was mated to a telepath and she had helped him with his defenses or both. Gilmore was willing to bet on the latter but she had a feeling it was the former.

Lasky tapped the desk before him, as a holographic representation of the USS Simpson was displayed before them both. ''Foul whisp'rings are abroad. Unnatural deeds Do breed unnatural troubles," he commented as he nodded at the display. "I'm told you are skilled at hunting for unusual objects for clientele of unusual colors. Well, what I need for you to hunt for me is this ship. She went dark after failing to answer a recall order two days ago, she does not yet have a slipstream drive so she has not gone far. She was deployed to sector ten three ninety-four. Here in the Taurus Reach."

Gilmore narrowed her eyes as she regarded the target before her. "I assume you want her brought in because of a criminal action on the part of her commanding officer or members of her crew?"

"I do. The fact that she ignored a recall is worrisome enough, the fact remains that her skipper.-" Lasky tapped the display and the hologram changed from the ship to a head and bust of a man. Gilmore scowled. "Oh yes, I see why you requested me," she commented in a flat tone of voice. "I'll bring him in, one way or another. When do I leave?"

"Excellent Ariel." Lasky handed her a PADD. "Your orders and the background, feel free to share that with whomever you need to share it with. I'm not going to micromanage you or tell you how to do your job but I want this taken care of with a minimum of fuss. Before Jean-Pierre Carey does something stupid.

"Sounds good sir. My ship and I will be leaving as soon as I get back." Gilmore answered with a smile.

"Excellent. Then I will detain you no longer. Cry Woe, destruction ruin and decay, the worst is death and he'll have his day soon enough. Good hunting Captain."

"Shakespeare sir?" Gilmore smiled despite the darkness of the mood that had settled into the room. "I will indeed be bold, bloody and resolute, for with each new battle, new widows will howl and new orphans will cry."

Lasky chuckled softly. "Very nice. Good luck Captain."

Gilmore rose to her feet before she took her leave in silence.
