Mission:
Mission 36: The Crusade Against the Infidels
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - July 8th, 2391
Karryn looked over at Cressa, as the two of them just finished setting up a holodeck program for Teval and Hakaya. "Well, this should do it for them."
"Captain Tane was not overly keen on using this resource constantly, but it's the closest environment I can think of, to help rehabilitate your friend," Cressa admitted with much hope. "We are, essentially, taking the military out of her. Then gradually reintroducing her to stimuli in the military world, that triggers her symptoms."
Karryn nodded, It was a good thing her AI had a very good record of the Akurian Homeworld, or rather one of them. She chose the moon Osa, an earth sized habitable moon orbiting a gas giant in the Akurian Home system. "Well at the very least, they will still get to see what the Akurian home system looks like."
"I can only imagine the kids will love seeing what their native world looks like too," Cressa pointed out eagerly. "It would probably be a great exercise for them to bond in a place their mother likes."
Karryn nodded as the Door opened and Aerin brought Teval, Hakaya and all their kids into the holodeck. Hakaya was the first to look up at the sky, and noticing the blue green gas giant, asked, "Where is this."
Karryn gave off a small smile, "This is Osa, a habitable moon in our home system."
"For the time being, I asked if the captain would leave this place online so you and your family could learn more about who you are as a people," Cressa told Hakaya.
Hakaya was only half paying attention to Cressa as she looked up at the sky. She then looked over to Karryn saying, "I already envy you, that you remember being there."
Karryn nodded, saying, "Well, it is your homeworld too, both of you were born there."
Hakaya was about to say something else, but found herself being tugged by Nuyari as several of the kids immediately wanted to go exploring. Teval followed while Aerin commented to Karryn, "It's been a long time since I've seen our home myself."
Karryn nodded slowly, "Yeah, if only we could bring them to the real thing, but this will have to do for now."
"Hopefully someday, you will," Cressa spoke hopefully. "In the meantime, just let Hakaya run through her paces. Maybe some imagery off these holograms will trigger something she's forgotten. Maybe not. I will check back in a few days, however. Unless, of course, she has an episode. Let me know and I'll come immediately."
Aerin nodded and both him and Karryn followed the others. The kids had succeeded in pulling Teval and Hakaya pretty far ahead, but their trail was easy to follow. Karryn had sowed Nuyari and Takov what they where working on last evening, so Nuyari already knew where she wanted to go.
Aerin and Karryn caught up to them at the river, where all the kids except Yavi where already swimming, and they had Hakaya in the river as well, while Teval sat on a rock, cooling his footpaws in the river. He looked up at Karryn saying," So, what is it that you know about us."
Karryn didnt immediately answer. she thought for a minute then replied," Your AI doesn't know."
Teval shook his head and stared at the water," Bits and pieces, but it seems that her memory was also damaged."
Karryn sat down next to Teval, saying," Well, unfortunately my knowledge isn't that great, but i have enough to get by. we didn't know each other that well back then."
Teval looked at karryn," But we did know eachother before."
Karryn nodded," A little, we served on the same ship together, the Akurian Super Heavy Starship Noble. We mainly only knew eachother, because both of us where friends with the captain, Ryuukei Akavai. In fact, you where planning on having kids with Kakivi, one of Ryuukei's sister's."
Teval didn't show any reaction, while Karryn continued," you and Hakaya where both members of the Akurian army, and what is kind of funny, is that Hakaya was the higher ranked one of you two. She was commander of the Noble's army and military police detachment. She was very different in those day's."
Teval just continued to stare at the water, then asked," Its been so long since those events, I wonder why the Akurian confederation never mounted a rescue attempt, did they not care."
Karryn shook her head," it's its not that simple, from what we could tell, when our craft passed through one of the wormholes, is that they where also temporally unstable. Its not just that we don't come from a different galaxy. In fact, we come from the same galaxy, but with vastly different realities."
Teval's ears stood up and he looked at Karryn, paying full attention, while Karryn continued, " Yeah, we do come form the same galaxy, the milky way, but, not only do we come from a different time period, but also a completely different reality all together. In our galaxy, according to the human calendar, we where in somewhere around the 45th century, but here its the 24th. But not only that, in our galaxy, even in our 24th century, things where drastically different. None of the species that exist in this galaxy, exist in ours, except humans. Human history is drastically different as well. at that time it was barely a century after Human Akurian first contact, and humanity maybe had a few dozen worlds at the time. Some of the technologies that exist here, never existed in ours."
Teval didn't know what to make of it just yet, while Karryn then added," However, I wouldn't give up completely, dot discount that the Akurian confederation may have found a way to get over here. so just be patient for now, you guy's may yet see your home for real."
