Mission:
Mission 33: Losing the Peace
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - May 4th, 2391
Cadet Rachael Yamaguchi sighed softly as she had received a note earlier that her three kills were inadmissible on her file because she wasn't technically permitted to fly.
She sighed as she went through the pilots, looking for the one pilot who'm she had connected with. "Frost Storm..." she called for the Andorian pilot who was busy with her bird.
"Yo... I just got told... my three kills are inadmissible... I'm a civilian." she sighed softly.
"Oh, that's awful Rachael." Frosty told her. "Why?"
"I'm not certified in.... anything.. I'm not able to fly... just train.. and more training."
Frosty shrugged. "We'll, there is that. You know that you have those kills and so does everyone you fought with. You have a lot of respect in the air group."
"I can't keep these kills.." Firebird responded. "I do however have the option to offload them to someone else..." she handed Froststorm the PADD. "These three kills... are for you."
"As much as I'm flattered by the gesture, I can't take them." Frost Storm told her. "I would just leave them unassigned."
Rachael gently took the other woman's hand. "Ryi... Listen to me carefully.. This may be the last time I am ever able to give you anything... and someone has to claim these kills... I'd rather it be you... because I've been told that I'm in a world of shit... a noncombatant, taking a military fighter into a warzone... you know how may laws I violated?." she paused a moment to let Ryi process the information. "There can't be any holes in this... everything has got to be airtight."
"Are you sure?" Frosty asked. "A hundred years from now when the biography of super pilot ace Rachael Yamaguchi is written, they will add those kills to your tally."
Frosty sighed "If your still insistent that I'll take them. I just don't think it is fair."
"You're too kind Ryi.." Rachael felt heartbroken. "I don't think it's fair either ... but..." as she gently took Taffy's hands in her own. "This is the way it has to be... and I'm not going to be responsible for my Mom or Phoenix going to jail because I did what I was trained to do.."
"That's not going to happen, Rachael, trust me." Frost Storm told her. "Dogfights can get confusing. Star Fleet will not be able to prove anything."
Frosty than gave Rachael a big hug. "You worry to much about your superiors. They can handle themselves. You need to worry about Rachael and Saki more."
Rachael curled her arms around the other woman's torso. "Yeah... you're right.. I do." Yamaguchi responded. "Thank you Ryi... " and with that she turned and slowly walked off of the hanger deck, her body language said she didn't want to be there and more then a few pilots who saw her leave, picked up on it.
