Echos of My Losses Past

Posted on Tue Mar 17th, 2020 @ 4:30am by Lieutenant Colonel Dale James "DJ" Norris & Lieutenant Commander Anthony Duval & Commander Hsirr Duval & Lieutenant T'Pamsu "Spartan" Antilles-Yeager & Ryuujin Duval

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Duval's Quarters - USS Heart of the Tiger
Timeline: 1800Hrs - June 10th, 2393

Just then, Farlander came around the corner back into the main living area. "Gentlemen, dinner will be delayed, unfortunately, issues with the replicator." the small Vulcan female explained,

Duval rose to his feet. "Okay, let me look at it," he commented before he moved towards the replicator.

"As you wish." Farlander moved aside as Duval passed her. The small Vulcan female regarded Norris as she smiled at him. "Hello sir." as she regarded Norris before she took the seat that Duval had just vacated.

"I'm not on duty Ms. Farlander. I'm DJ Norris." the Marine introduced himself.

"Its good to meet you, DJ. I'm T'Pamsu." The Vulcan female looked up at him. "I assume everyone is present?" she added.

"Yep, all of the pieces are now in play," Norris answered with a slight nod.

"I'm afraid I don't quite follow." the smaller Vulcan female commented as she looked up at him.

The marine sat back down in the chair he had been sitting in a few minutes earlier as he regarded the young female before him.
"Everyone who was invited to dinner is now present," he explained. "All the people are now on the board."

Farlander regarded Norris with a look. "Yet, we're alone." she gave him a look that could have said a great many things.

Norris beheld the Vulcan female in silence for a moment. "So, tell me about yourself.. Something that I can't find on your service record preferably." as he frowned. "You do not act like the average Vulcan."

"Oh god no," Farlander answered. "I was raised by humans as part of the Farlander family, they took me in when I was young, my family had been killed and I had nobody left, they took me in and made me one of their own. It was a highly educational experience being raised by Fleet Admiral Antilles-Yeager but I make do."

"Wait, the Alpha Quadrant commander is your mother?" the big, burly marine sound like he didn't believe it. "Note to self: do not do anything funny to you."

"Oh yes." the small Vulcan answered with a smile. "You worry too much monsieur," she added. "Do I need to worry?"

"Of course not. I am a gentleman at all times." Norris regarded her with a rather sinister grin. "Woe to the man who harms to ladies in my presence."

"That's almost a shame," Farlander answered unexpectedly. "I was hoping for a more adventurous spirit." the small Vulcan added, with a rather zesty smile.

"That can be arranged Ms. Farlander if you require a first-hand demonstration of my skills." Norris was unsure if him reacting to her flirting with him was a good thing or not but he decided to go with it and see where it led, hopefully, it wouldn't cause him more trouble than he already had with the status of his life at the present time. She seemed truly interested but he also recalled what happened the last time a relationship popped up out of left field, the two had ended up in bed after the first night but it had lasted a week, but holy crap, what a week. "Would you like to climb a mountain with me T'Pamsu.?"

The Vulcan female raised an eyebrow. "Sure. When and where?"

"Holodeck two, this time tomorrow night. If we make it to the top while on speaking terms then I'll cook dinner for you. Something with salad?"

The Vulcan female suddenly laughed softly. "A salad is a horrible thing to say to me. DJ." she said in a low voice, with a rather evil smile on her lips.

Norris looked over at her, as he grinned in a disarming manner, he smiled. "I meant no offense T'Pamsu."

The small Vulcan female smiled. "No offense was taken. But I do look forward to the mountain climbing," she added, in a husky tone before she grinned at him. "Is there anything I should bring?"

Norris almost said a half dozen things, none were relevant. "A good pair of climbing boots, a set of ropes and two climbing axes." he paused. "I usually get the computer to make me a full set of gear to cover anything I need. Also depends on the mountain too." the large marine shifted in his chair when suddenly Duval came back around the corner. "Hey guys, dinner is now back on schedule. Everything okay here?" he inquired.

"We're just discussing the proper way to climb mountains," Farlander answered with a smile. "What was the issue with the replicator?" the small Vulcan female inquired in a gentle tone.

"Just that the phase buffer was out of alignment, nothing major," Duval answered. "How're things with you two?" the large man inquired with a neutral look in his eye.

"We're plotting the conquest of the universe. Starting with this ship." Farlander answered with a jovial grin. "Say, why don't you help your spouse with the food and leave me alone with my dinner." and with that said, the small Vulcan female licked her lips.

Duval raised an eyebrow with a bemused look on his face. "I'll leave you to it, if I hear any moaning or screaming, I will not be too happy." and with that, he moved off, back into the other room where Hsirr and Ryuujin were already making dinner.

Norris regarded the Vulcan female before him, the conversation had taken him to places that he never knew that a Vulcan could ever consider. "So, what other hobbies do you have. other than conquest and warfare. I mean that must be thirsty work."

"Oh, you have no idea," Farlander answered. "I enjoy many things. Are you sure you want to go mountain climbing tomorrow?. What about something at the beach?" she inquired, with a gentle grin on her face.

"The beach. Sure, if you want.. Not what I expected but sure, same time as originally planned?" as he finished the drink in his hand, he leaned forward as he placed the glass on the table before him.

"Sure. I'll see you there than DJ." Farlander smiled. "I'm looking forward to this," she added, with a rather potent grin on her lips.
