Mission: Mission 28: Those who Remain
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1100Hrs - February 24th, 2391

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi smiled as she tapped the door chime to the Captain's office, she held a PADD in her hands but this visit was personal rather then professional.

"Enter." Daisy replied.

Torilla tapped the display next to her right hand, before the door slid open. "Howdy Daisy. I thought I'd drop by.... since I heard the news and all... Orthos told me before he left earlier.. "

"Please come in and make yourself at home." Daisy told Torilla. "Can I offer you a refreshment?"

"Just a glass of water... I heard the news..." Yamaguchi came in and sat down in one of the chairs, she could detect the faint aroma of Marines in the room. "Orthos is miserable.." Yamaguchi commented. "I know he's not happy with Jake.."

Daisy went to the replicator and fetched Yamaguchi a glass of water. "This is life in Starfleet," Daisy told her without any emotion. "I'm not happy about it but it is what you should expect when you serve."

"Fair enough." Yamaguchi accepted her drink. "Thanks..." she smiled. "If you need any help with your pregnancy, let me know... I've been through several myself..."

"Oh, you bet I will Commander," Daisy told her with a smile. "And I appreciate your offer. I"m not sure how long I'm going to stay on as the Marine Commander. I don't think Star Fleet issues maternity body armor."

"They don't." Torilla responded. "and as for your post... That's between you and your Doctor... which will probably be Sokanon... isn't she seeing one of your sergeants?"

"She is seeing Werner," Daisy told her. "Their relationship mellowed him and brought him under control."

"Ahh.." Yamaguchi smiled. "I've heard of her from my eldest... Elizabeth looks up to her." she paused. "You'll get poked and prodded often... the little one will test you in ways you never imagined but with a little luck... you'll come through alright."

"Thank you. I'm sure I will." Daisy replied "Nobody in my family has ever had health issues and my mother had four children with a human partner. I'm not worried about too much about my health or my child's." Daisy sighed. "I still haven't told my parents. I wonder if I should?"

Yamaguchi paused. "MMm... do you get along with your family?" she inquired.

"Well, we don't really communicate," Daisy told Yamaguchi. "My family knows I am in Star Fleet but they don't know where I am or what I do."

"Ahh.." Yamaguchi paused. "Well...I only know what I'd do... I'd contact them and talk to them... but thats me.."

Daisy thought for a moment and then sighed. "I guess they should know. I'll send them a message tonight. They don't like that I'm in Star Fleet so I will just tell them I'm with child. If they want any more information they can send me a message."

Yamaguchi nodded. "If you need anything for your little one... let me know... and I'll get it for you." she smiled. "Within reason of course.

Daisy laughed out loud. "I wouldn't put anything past you Torilla. Your idea of 'within reason' would probably still put me in awe."

"You are too kind.." Torilla answered with a smile. "But you will need to slow down and tone back your workout routines in the gym, the little one will become very demanding of you over the next while.."

"Yes, I have already cancelled my sparring practice." Daisy told Torilla. "Although I still have the overwhelming need to punch somebody."

"You don't need to cancel anything... just tone it down." Yamaguchi responded with a smile. "Do it slowly... otherwise you won't adjust well.."

"So you think it's alright to fight with Bokken while pregnant?" Daisy asked. "Well, you have had several very healthy and intelligent children so you should know."

"So long as you remain active and not overdo it... the medical staff will come to think of you as breakable and a gentle doll." she paused. "Keep up your normal habits...and your training.." she paused. "but cut back slowly... the medical staff will be able to assist you further."

"Thanks, Torilla," Daisy said. "I just don't like going to medical. Now I'm going to be practically living there."

"Nah.." Yamaguchi responded. "you're in tip top shape.."

"Yes but for how long?" Daisy looked a bit worried. "I'm sorry I'm fretting but this is a new experience for me." Daisy explained.

"You'll be fine.." Yamaguchi responded with a smile. "The medical staff will help you with anything that comes up... and you have me around if you need help... "

Daisy just starred out into space. "Your right. There is really no logical reason to panic. It's just that Orthos getting reassigned really turned my world upside down." Daisy told Torilla as she turned to look at her. "Silly isn't it?"

"Not at all." Yamaguchi responded. "It was like that when Rachael came along... I was serving alongside my husband, under his command when I got transferred somewhere else." she paused. "Which reminds me.. Your sins have at last caught up with you Daisy, I'd yell at you but you're out of Uniform Major."

Daisy looked at Torilla "I'm Only A Captain Commander. Not unless you or Captain Tane promote me." Daisy joked with Yamaguchi.

"I hereby promote you to the rank of Major... apparently someone felt you were slighted and demanded restitution for your lost honor.. Jests aside... Orthos talked to the Admiral about you and stuck in the recommendation. The Admiral then talked to Zara and I... and he asked that I hand deliver this... you to you." as she gently placed a small black box into Daisy's hand. "I so enjoy promoting people... means I get to have a little fun with them... you have been a good sport about it."

Daisy smiled as she attached the rank to her collar. "I hope I'm worth the trouble." she told Torilla.

"Well. I don't know you that well but... I've learned to listen to my friends and Orthos tells me you are worth a great many things.. and I think you are too."

"Coming from you that means a lot. Thank you Torilla." Daisy told her. "I'd take you to the Dragon for drinks but drinking isn't an option anymore."

Yamaguchi smiled. "Only until after the baby is born." she responded. "The next year of your life will be trying, it'll test you in ways you never knew existed, but... it'll be rewarding too."
