Mission: Mission 26: Points of Divergence
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0900Hrs - February 18th, 2391

Teval, cradling Nuyari, one of his newborns, walked up to the captains ready room and hit the door chime.

"Enter," Zara called out as she read over hundreds of colony aid requests.

Teval walked in, saying to Zara, "Well, Karryn had the kittens, so we have decided to go on vacation Deneva, since Siaxx is going there for a medical conference, we will be taking the same runabout. Hakaya needs more time anyway."

"Your's little one is adorable," Zara smiled brightly. It took a lot of discipline to fight the urge to pet it. "I'm fine with you leaving for a bit. We're on shore leave anyway."

Teval nodded, gently rubbing the purring Nuyari, and he could tell Zara wanted to pet her, which he mentioned, "Don't worry, its OK to pet little Nuyari here, I know she is irresistibly adorable."

"She is," Zara agreed and gently reached in to caress the top of the kitten's head.

Nuyari stirred and continued purring. Teval then looked back at Zara saying, "Well, we will be leaving tomorrow morning then, we will be gone for about 2 weeks."

"Is your sister doing any better?" Zara asked with concern as she tickled the kitten under her chin.

Nuyari cooed as Teval responded," She is getting better, but its a slow process, she needs the time away from the ship. However her mood seems to have improved considerably with these cute little ones around. I think she wants to steal one."

"Oh I have no doubt she would," Zara laughed. "Let her know I care about her and that I'm sorry about what happened... I do take what happens on my ship very personally."

Teval nodded, saying, "Well, its nice to know that you do care, we used to think that you didn't, but since you certainly have proved us wrong."

"COs are trained not to become too involved with their subordinate. Simply so we do our jobs more efficiently," Zara frowned at that. "I never got that rules entirely... Guess that's when bad things happen to my crew, I take it personally."

Teval rolled his eyes, " Yeah, starfleet wants their CO's to act like emotionless vulcans, yeah, whatever. From what I know about them Akurian Fleet CO's where never trained that way."

"I'm still trying to find my balance in that philosophy, I suppose," Tane shrugged.

Teval didn't say anything as he cuddled with Nuyari, after which he finally said," Well, I have to go get ready so see you later."

He didn't wait for Zara to reply as he walked out the door.

On his way to sickbay Teval ran into Rachael, whom looked in a lousy mood," Hey Rachael whats going on."

"Teval... mind if I share something with you.... I was talking to Wukari and she shared with a few things... all of which pissed me off...."

Nuyari mewed at Teval, and he gave his daughter a cuddle, saying," Oh, yeah, that's right, you haven't met my new children have you."

Rachael's anger vaporized in an instant as she smiled. "Oh hey there little one..." he looked at Teval. "I am so sorry... I didn't know..." she commented. "Is it safe to hold her?" she inquired, hopefully. "She looks so adorable...."

Teval shook his head," Well, she doesn't take to well to someone else holding her, but petting her is just fine."

Rachael smiled. "Fair enough.... I can't say I blame her.." as she gently ran her fingers ever so gently over the small Kurokuri's soft fur.
"Whats her name?" Rachael asked.

Teval replied as Nuyari purred contently," Her name is Nuyari, my other daughter is Savo, and my son is Takov."

"Nuyari." Rachael pronounced it as 'New'Yar'ee' as a smile graced her face. "Well.. I hope they bring you much joy..." she responded as she gently petted the little one. "Oh she's so cute.... " she paused. "but seriously... I do have something that's pissing me off... and I never saw it either."

Teval looked at her curiously," Whats bothering you."

"Its just that everyone gets all hot and bothered whenever something happens to me... everyone overprotects me... I've had over fifty people wish me well.. and I was in sickbay for one night.. Wukari is semi-crippled and she's had a dozen... tops..." she paused. "It offends me, I don't want special treatment from people... regardless of what happened.."

Teval didn't really know what to say to this one, but he knew the reason, and it was the same reason that Hakaya got tossed in the brig. Everyone see's Rachael as being a child. So he just simply stated the reason," Well, not that agree with this attitude, but most of the crew see's you as being a child. Not that I particularly care for this attitude, and it also shows that people are only seeing you as that, and not looking at who you are as a person."

"I'm Sorry Teval.." Rachael responded. "I think I should go spend some time with Dad... Help me decompress awhile... and I've missed him.." she then gently petted the small Kurokuri. "She's adorable though.."

Teval thought for a minute before saying," Well if you want, Siaxx and Saki are going to a medical conference on Deneva tomorrow and me, Hakaya, Aerin and Karryn, and our kids are going on shore leave there for two weeks, I think we can fit you in if you want to come along. Deneva has some real nice vacation spots going this time of year."

Rachael instantly smiled. "Now that sounds lovely." she responded. "I'd love to come along... besides.. I'll get stick time too... it'll be great."

Teval nodded, Yep," lets just go talk to Siaxx real quick."

A few minutes later they entered sickbay, and Teval said to Siaxx," Hey Siaxx, Rachael wants to join us on our trip, if you don't mind." Nuyari mewed softly.

Siaxx's voice came back instantly. "Not at all Teval... " she turned to Rachael. "Yay. a Designated driver.. This means I can be drunk..." they all knew that Siaxx hated being drunk, the look look on her face was also rubbish. "I'll make sure my bags are packed.."

Rachael smiled. "I'll have my stuff packed.. let me know when and where."

Teval held up Nuyari, whom mewed loudly, saying," So have you seen my newest addition to the family."

Siaxx blinked. "Oh wow..." she gasped. "She's adorable. Can I hold her?"

Teval shook his head," You can pet her, but she complains if it isn't me or anther kurokuri holding her."

Siaxx smiled as she gently petted the small kitty in Teval's arms. "She's adorable." she commented. "What time are we leaving again..."

Teval looked at Nuyari, saying, "Tomorrow morning pretty much."

Both Siaxx and Rachael both responded. "We'll be ready." Rachael responded evenly.

Teval nodded, then looked at Rachael, saying, "Well Karryn is working on breakfast right now, you want some."

"Sure.." Rachael answered. "What were you guys having?"

"French toast, egg and sausage. Plus you can see the other two kittens."

"Sounds lovely.." Rachael responded evenly. "Eggs and Sausage... sounds like heaven..."

Teval nodded, and left sickbay with Rachael. They arrived in Teval's quarters a few minutes later where Teval set Nuyari down with her two siblings, whom where curled up in a blanket, sleeping.

Rachael smiled as she regarded the kittens all sleeping while curled up together. "Now that's just adorable." she admitted. "as much as I want to pet them.. now isn't a good time."

Silversnow walked up to Rachael and began to rub her legs, purring.

Rachael smiled as she gently plucked the cat up from where she was running against her legs. "Hey.." as she gently kissed the kitty on the end of her nose. "How ya been girl..?" she inquired.

The cat mewled at her as as she sat down in one of the chairs, the cat clearly enjoying the attention from Rachael. "Oh... how far along is Silversnow guys?" she inquired.

"Should only be about a week left now," Teval said from the kitchen," Courtesy of shonax."

Rachael nodded. "Yeah... sounds about right... Siversides has about the same time left... thanks to Shonax again..."

Teval sighed as he came out with a plate of food," Yeah that cat can't get enough."

Rachael raised an eyebrow as she looked at Siaxx. "Oh... I vote for some anesthetic and a buck-knife." she then smiled. "That will cure his problem."

"Rachael... I think that's a little over the top."

"Indeed... well I'm sure everyone else would agree with me... your kitty needs to get his issue sorted out... before he impregnates all the kitties aboard ship."

Teval commented between bites," He already has."

"Oh good." Rachael responded. "See how easy it was Siaxx...."

"Yeah... I booked him in myself and I had the ships vet handle him...I forget the person's name handling the operation though..." the small Bolian shrugged.

Hakaya walked over with her breakfast saying," Yeah, we would have gotten silversnow fixed too but she keeps getting pregnant. Watch, with our luck brightspot will get her pregnant next."

"I've already got both booked in for the operation. Silversnow can get sorted out whenever she's ready but Brightspot can get fixed anytime." she commented.

Rachael responded. "Siversides is also going to need to get fixed. I left a reminder for mom about it..."

Teval shrugged," Eh, we will deal with Silversnow when we get back."
