There Will Be Another Time

Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 2200Hrs, December 9th, 2390

Lieutenant JG Sokanon It'kla was wearing civilian clothing as she was enjoying a drink, she was in civilian clothing and she had no rank on her whatsoever, she preferred to leave such things at the door to sickbay.

Werner entered a bar for the first time in many years. He couldn't wait to have a real drink. "Apfelkorn please." he asked the bartender. The bartender had to look around to find the one bottle. He blew the dust off and poured it into a glass. Werner took a sip. "Ah!" he let out in refreshment. Werner eyes widened as he saw the Caitian. He made his way across the bar to her.

"Ahh... do join me.." Sokanon smiled at him. "I was waiting.... for you."

"Thank you." Werner answered.

"You seem to almost like keeping to yourself... I wonder if I can assist you with that issue?" she inquired.

"This may be my only visit here.I already beat the snot out of an obnoxious private." Werner solemnly told her.

"Bah." she waved away the concern he had said to her. "You're not going to leave this ship that easily...." the Caitian commented. "So... why did you teach the private some manners?"

"He thought it was cute to dowse me in muck." Werner replied. He took another sip. "You are right it seems very hard to get kicked off this ship. What is it about this place?" Werner asked.

The Caitian began laughing which for a kitty sounded like a woofing sound. "My friend.. this is the Roanoke. Nobody leaves this ship unless they are dead or got promoted... so you're stuck here.... and... you are quite handsome."

"Oh, thanks." Werner replied. He hadn't remembered what it was like to be with a women. "Your quiet the looker." He told her. "Where is your department?"

The Caitian blew him a kiss. "Why thank you." she responded. "Medical." she explained. "I'm one of the junior medical officers."

Werner laughed "Well, you outrank me. I'm one of the marine grunts." He finished off his drink and asked the bar keep for another. "My name is Werner, Gunthar Werner."

The Caitian's smile widened into a grin. "I outrank you only in sickbay." she commented evenly. "Out here... I'm the same as everyone else, rank means nothing to me." she explained. "I'm Sokanon." she added as she gently took his massive hand in her smaller one. "I'm glad you're on our side Gunthar." when she realized just how large his hand actually was.

"Good to know." Werner replied. "You wouldn't be offended if I pay for your drinks?" he asked her.

"You are too kind.." she mewled at him. "Such a gentleman... I assume I should keep that to myself?." she inquired with a smile.

"Nobody would believe you Sokanon," Werner told her. "Your a very quick study when it comes to people."

"Thats because I see you as a man, wanting to blow off steam." Sokanon responded. "So you have a unusual past." she shrugged. "It just makes you more interesting.... and I find you.... simply fascinating."

"Really? Nobody has ever called me that. Thank you." Werner told her. "You must be very intelligent to be working in Medical."

"Most of my family are Doctors." she commented. "My sister Selgae is a security officer with a fascination with human men, and my brother as well as my parents are all doctors." the Caitian explained. "There is nothing intelligent about it... just keep an open mind, open ears and open eyes."

"Don't sell yourself short." Werner told Sokanon. "Getting into medical ain't easy. It's an important job."

"You are too kind..." she responded with a smile. "You say others look down on you... why is that?, if.. I may Inquire.." she paused. "You are more then that you may seem... Gunthar Werner..." she added in a quiet tone.

"Long story." Werner told her. "I don't want to burden you with my misfortunes."

Sokanon smiled. "I appreciate your concern.. but its not necessary."
she paused. "but... we can always discuss other subjects.." she grinned at him. "so.. what hobbies do you have?"

"A week ago it would have been how to stay out of solitary confinement. Now, I'm not so sure." Werner told Sokanon, a little bit of melancholy in his voice. "I am enjoying my this conversation though." Werner stated with more jocularity.

Sokanon smiled at him. "So am I... let's see where the night takes us..." she commented with a smile. "and if you end up being unable to get back to the barracks... I won't complain..."

"Sounds good to me." Werner admitted. "If I get sent back to Jaros II at least I'll have a story to tell to the fellas."

She chuckled softly, with the odd soft huffing sound. "If you are interested... then like I said... we'll see where the night goes.." her eyes sparkled.

Werner smiled. "Yeah, I'd like to see where this is goin'."

Sokanon lifted her drink as she watched him carefully. "Well... what time are you up in the morning?"

Werner chuckled "I bunk with five other marines. We have wake up call at oh five thirty."

"Oh Five What?" Sokanon asked. "Will they object if you're not there but arrive at Oh Five Thirty?" she inquired.

"First formation is where we have roll call." Werner told the Caitian. "That's at oh six hundred."

Sokanon lifted her third drink as she sipped it. "So you're used to getting up early then... I mean why so early... what do you guys do all day?"

"if we're lucky some decent training." Werner told her. "Most of the time it's just shit details. Anyways," Werner changed the subject "Do you have your own quarters?"

"I do have a roommate.... but she works overnight." Sokanon responded. "Besides... the quarters are soundproofed and..." she grinned. "it'll be fun." she added

"Yeah, it does." Werner responded.

She polished off the last of her drink. "Do you wish to have sex with me?" she decided to ask straight out.

Werner was a little surprised by Sokanon's forwardness. "Yes" Werner stated almost without thinking "Yes, I'd like that a lot."

"Then I am ready.... shall we go?" the Caitian nodded to the door.

Werner smiled. "Lead me to your quarters."

Sokanon smiled. "This way.." and with that she rose to her feet and lead him out the door.
