Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs, December 7th, 2390

Lt Commander Siaxx Dvald blinked open her eyes at sometime around Oh eight hundred as she momentarily had a panic attack as she turned her head, before remembering she was working second shift and not first shift.

Siaxx flopped back down on the bed, she was nude and uncovered as she looked up at the ceiling. "I hate it when that happens.." she muttered

"Huh?" Phoenix noted groggily as she started to wake from her deep slumber.

Siaxx moved onto her side. "Phoenix... listen to me..." she reached over as she gently placed her hand on the other woman's shoulder. "I know you hate Cardassians.. but... I need you to consider.... I can't protect you if they decide to stun you or sedate you." Siaxx hated feeling helpless and the look on her face said enough.

"I don' know why I snap," Phoenix finally spoke as she took a very long time to ponder the issue. "I wish I did. But I don' an' I don' always know how to turn that part of me off."

Siaxx watched her in silence, her face showing her concern. "I'm scared..." she admitted. "Next time... I don't think I'll be able to protect you." her eyes shone with her distress. "I worry about you."

Phoenix sat up, very sober, despite the headache from her alcohol consumption the night before. She took Siaxx's hand into her real one and just rubbed it affectionately. Her blue eyes did not look away from her girlfriend's eyes.

"I worry a lot. About you. About Mom. About...." Phoenix paused that moment. She was worried very deeply about her own insanity. "Me... I can never have a long, great moment, it seems. But when I'm with you, I feel safe."

"I know Phoenix.... but... I'm scared that someone asshole is going to come aboard and take you away in a straightjacket and... I won't be able to help you."

Phoenix grew almost stoic as she pulled her feet up to her chest. When she let out a sigh, it was very shaky.

"I close my eyes and I see them coming into my village. Firing their disruptors and I'm trying to protect my siblings, but I can't," Phoenix finally spoke with tears finally coming out her eyes.

Siaxx sat up as she gently placed her hands on Phoenix's shoulders. "I know..." she said softly. "I keep seeing the crewmates I lost on the Copernicus... they were trapped by fallen debris and I can't help them.... I know of what you speak..." she phrased her sentence deliberatly instead of saying 'I feel your pain' or 'I know how you feel' because Siaxx couldn't know her pain.

"I'm tired of fightin', Siaxx." Phoenix sighed greatly and then plopped back on the bed, onto her back. "I want ta settle down an' not be a killer for once."

"Fighting is all we ever seem to do." Siaxx commented quietly. "Even after all this time... and our demons still define us.."

"So let's do somethin' fun for a change," Phoenix stated rather eagerly. "Pick a day an' have a date. No interruptions. Just us."

"We're going down to the planet, if we stay here... I'll have some dumb basterd wanting my ass." Siaxx commented. "I wanna spend some time on the beach." he regarded Phoenix. "What say you?"

"We need to clear it with Tane," Phoenix spoke skeptically. "An' I aint on her friend list so you'll have ta do it. But sure."

"Sounds good. I'll talk to her... or the Ex Oh." then the Bolian grinned across at the other woman. "It shouldn't be too hard to do.."

"I do wanna marry ya someday, Dear." Phoenix admitted once more, though her throat felt a bit dry. "...I just wanna make sure shit like yesterday don' happen again."

Siaxx smiled. "I keep wanting to find the time to do it right.. ya know... make the moment special.. but we keep on having these blasted interruptions.." the Bolian sighed. "Well we are going planetside... so.. we can sort that out then..." Siaxx smiled.

Phoenix kissed Siaxx warmly on the cheek. "Want me ta cook ya breakfast?"

"No.. I'll get it.." Siaxx replied with a smile. "How are you feeling?" she inquired. "Headache?"

"It'll go away," Phoenix tried to wave aside. "Just no bright lights for a few hours... You ok?"

"I'm good..." Siaxx smiled before she gently kissed Phoenix on the cheek. "you relax... I'll cook us a nice solid breakfast..."

"I'l be right here," Phoenix promised as she kissed Siaxx on last time on the cheek.

"Okay." and with that Siaxx climbed out of bed in nothing but her skin. "Lets see... I need eggs, bacon, ham, bread." and with that the Bolian walked out of the bedroom.

Soon the smells of good food and cooking were rapidly filling the quarters that both women shared as Siaxx was wearing an apron and nothing else which technically was a really stupid thing to do, because it was easy to get burnt.

Phoenix was still in a pair of shorts and a tank top from the night before, but when she saw Siaxx, she really debated on if she truly needed to be in clothes. That hungry grin of hers could of easily been misread as something else.

"I'm not sure which could be more appetizing."

Siaxx meanwhile was just about finished making breakfast for two. "Mm... just waiting for the last two pieces of fried bread." she commented as she turned her head but upon seeing the look on Phoenix's face. She quickly realized that Phoenix wasn't interested in the food but was more interested in her.

Siaxx wasn't objecting. "We can always eat after.." right before she checked the fried bread she had placed in the pan just moments ago, she then pulled them out using a fork. "Yep... all finished." and with that she turned off the stove.

"Mmmm. Good," Phoenix sighed happily as she came from behind Siaxx to gently untie the knot in her apron.

She then smiled as she slipped off her apron before turning to face Phoenix, she placed one hand on her hip as she beckoned the other woman on with her fingers while giving Phoenix a sultry smile.

And unknown time later, with both women comfortably in each other's arms, sweaty from a lovely, sensual time in bed... The chime rang. Phoenix was just about done kissing on Siaxx's neck for another round, and that sound only meant someone really did not want their love to happen.

"Gods smite us," Phoenix groaned apologetically as she looked into her girlfriend's eyes.

Siaxx had her eyes closed as she was relishing the attention. "MMmm... want me to get it?" she inquired.

"Nah. You do too much already. I'll get it," Phoenix insisted as she grabbed the top sheet off the bed and covered her nude form.

"Alright.." Siaxx responded as she watched phoenix climb out of bed, the Bolian moved onto her side as she watched Phoenix as she walked out of the bedroom door.

Siaxx wasn't happy about the interruption as she followed Phoenix out the door, wearing nothing but her skin. "I hope this is good... someone interrupted our time together."

"You aint dressin'?" Phoenix asked with a humored grin, ignoring the second chime.

"Dress?." Siaxx smiled. "Nah.."

"I don' think I will either," Phoenix laughed, dropped the sheet, and opened the door.

As the door swished open, a Trill woman in a disheveled duty uniform stood perplexed at the naked human before her.

"We don' do three-ways anymore, right?" Phoenix called back to her naked counterpart. "Cause Tane's here."

Siaxx reached the door as she raised an eyebrow. "I could make an exception.." she commented in a playful tone. "So... skipper.. what can we do for you?" Siaxx's grin widened. "Lap dance?"

"Erm... No," Zara answered uncomfortably, as two naked women was just weird to open a door to. "I wanted to talk to the both of you though... If that's all right?"

Phoenix glared at Tane for only a moment, then shrugged her shoulders and sauntered back into the sitting area of her quarters.

Siaxx knew what was coming as she sighed before she followed Tane into the next room before she went over to the replicator as she felt she'd need a drink for this.

"I uh..." Zara began to pull at her collar as she followed them inside. "I'm sorry I interrupted."

"-But you did," Phoenix interrupted as she plopped on her couch with all her naked wonder. "An' you are here to brig me for what... Six weeks?"

"I'm not going to brig you and I'm not here to fight you," Zara spoke, as if waving a white flag. "I want to help you, Phoenix."

"Bullshit," Phoenix practically coughed as she watched her nemesis take a seat in the recliner. "You an' I never help the other."

Zara had to facepalm and shake her head. "Yes... I hate you. But this situation with you and the Cardassian woman is far bigger than you and me. You get this, right?"

Phoenix's blue eyes grew dark and brooding. She did not want to think Tane cared about her. It broke her brain to think otherwise.

Siaxx spoke up. "Phoenix... you two have been at this for way too long... can either of you recall what started this unending hatred between you two?" she inquired before she sat down next to Phoenix.

"You got lucky this time Jill... had you hit her in the face, you could have killed her. You very nearly did... Now I know you would not care.... I frankly wouldn't either.... but... she wears the same uniform as us.... doesn't that mean anything to you?"

Zara was trying hard not to look below their necks, and truly wished this meeting would end soon. For this level of nudity stirred things inside of her she dearly wished would stay still. Come to think of it, her rump still hurt ever now and then when she sat.

"Let's pretend for a moment that you and I like each other, Phoenix." Zara tried a different approach, since the other was not getting to the pilot's skull. "Let's say I just saw you hit one of your pilots, for no other reason than mouthing off at you. And you put them in sickbay. How would you expect me to react?"

"I'd expect my wings clipped." The admission was hard to swallow and Phoenix was steadily becoming worried.

"You need to get a handle on your anger, Sullivan." Zara gave a reluctant sigh. "So I am clipping your wings until I see proof that you're not going to endanger another person."

"Get out," Phoenix spoke in a very low rumble.

Zara's brown eyes found Siaxx and gave her a sympathetic stare as she stood up to leave. "You're off duty today, and on a no-fly light duty indefinably. I'll let the new counselor determine when you can return to full duty."

"I said, get out," Phoenix spoke more forcibly, as her world appeared to be crashing down before her.

"I'm sorry," Zara spoke, though it was clear just who she apologized too, for her eyes rested on Siaxx and Phoenix fairly evenly before she left.

It was only when Zara left she Phoenix put her head in her hands and shook. Not from anger, but sadness and despair.

Siaxx gently moved from where she was sitting as she gently gathered Phoenix into her arms. "I'm here..." she said quietly.

"You're the only good thing in my life," Phoenix spoke quietly, with tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry I put us in this mess."

"Hey... you have Rachael and Torilla too..." as she gently kissed Phoenix ever so gently on the lips. "I'll always be here... living in your icebox." and with that she smiled. "and... don't worry about anything... take some time off... relax for a change and take off the uniform..."

Phoenix gave a vague nod to that request. She honestly did not do well, unwinding. She wore the uniform way too much, it seemed. And to be honest, none of that did anything to inflate her mood.

Siaxx smiled. "You can still do sims.... so.. go show these girly men the real meaning of fear."

"I'd rather be around you," Phoenix noted very sheepishly. For at that moment, Siaxx was the only constant in her life.

"I know..." she paused. "and contrary to what the Captain says... I have work to do... but I'll go in late.." she sighed. "We don't have enough Doctors to let me actually have a night off.." she sighed as she indicated the kitchen. "Well... what do you say we go eat my rapidly cooling food?" she smiled.
