Rachael Yamaguchi sighed softly to herself as she reached her locker,
before she tapped in her code however the small woman as she was quickly becoming, took a look around, it was the first week of classes for the new school year and her new year back was starting with a bang.
She was keeping an eye out for her new nemesis, but she had not seen him around for the last few days since he took a swing at her and she had quickly but effectively beaten the living tar out of him by smashing his knee.
However, she knew he was back in school now but she didn't know where he was but she hated this contest of wills and wits, also she hated the other contest that was brewing with her square in the middle of it.
Paul Harrison and Anthony Donos were squaring up for the age-old contest of 'Who would get the girl' but Racheal knew even if they didn't that this contest had a prize and would be rather permanent, for she was the prize.
She lifted her few books as she slipped them into her bag, then she quickly closed the locker door as she zipped her bag closed, she then slipped over her shoulder as she turned and walked down the hallway as Anthony came towards her from the other direction.
"Hey Rachael, Where you off to?"
"I'm heading home, gotta walk Earl....he needs his time out... as do we all."
"Isn't that Admiral T'Lar's pet tiger?"
"Yes, he's quite friendly and obedient... He won't harm anyone unless someone becomes a threat to who's looking after him... If Peabrain takes a swing at me with Earl around... I'd hate to think what Earl will do to him.."
"Maybe do us all a favor and remove him from the gene pool," Anthony responded with a laugh, he was, of course, referring to the High school bully who had been severely dethroned thanks to Rachael's recent ass-kicking.
"Well... I'd best get going... time waits for no man, woman or beast after all.." Rachael commented.
"Alright... we should hang out later," he commented.
"Yeah, we should... Not seen you in too long." Rachael commented, she knew this old game all too well, her parents had played this game and so had her siblings, it was when Gabe met Savannah, something she thought was a great thing, she found herself liking Savannah instantly the moment she met her elder siblings wife since they had been married last year when they both turned eighteen.
Anthony meanwhile nodded as he smiled down at her since he was a half-foot taller then she was, rather than give her a hug he turned and departed, leaving her alone.
"Isn't he so handsome?" inquired a female voice
"He's one of my best friends..." Rachael responded. "But don't let me stop you if you want his attention." she looked over at Kimora Anderson, she quickly recalled that this was Ensign Jiao Anderson's eldest of two children.
Kimora looked at Rachael. "Think I stand a chance?"
"You stand a chance...same as every other girl in school but a word to the wise?"
"Yes?" the Thai girl seemed attentive and interested, but she was thirteen and Anthony was fourteen with Paul topping the pile at age fifteen.
"Take the time and get to know the man, don't rush it...He's got a strange sense of humor to take that in stride."
"Willdo... you're not interested in him... are you?"
Rachael's mind suddenly recalled a conversation she had had with Anthony about a year ago while they were hanging out in the Arboretum while on the USS Courageous about how they would always be friends for life and with that her mind was suddenly made up. "No... he's my friend and he doesn't have enough friends... so... Kimora.. consider thyself warned if you hurt him... You will answer to me... cool?" Rachael could back that threat up with force if needed but she didn't think the dainty Thai girl across from her was the type.
"Uhh yeah... I understand.."
"Alright... well I'd best get going, gotta walk the Tiger and all."
"How do you walk a Tiger...?"
"Easy, I stick him on a leash and tell him we're going out, he knows where we're going."
"That is so cool..." Kimora responded evenly. "I'd best get going.."
"Yeah.. me too." and with that, the two girls parted company.
