Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - Terran Imperial Headquarters - Earth, SOL
Timeline: 0845Hrs - October 4th, 2393

This was the final battle and if Captain Yamaguchi had her way, it would be an outright slaughter. A massacre that would end with the fall of the Imperial Federation and the restoration of the Federation. Yamaguchi smiled as she stepped forward towards the main entrance of the senate building, which used to the Imperial Palace on Iwo Jima island.

Yamaguchi felt the ocean breeze gently ruffle her hair as she nodded to the guards. "I must address the senate immediately, there has been a development... Lord Insana has been killed," she spoke in simple terms. She noted that her personel had not beamed down here with her, only her alone and this was a source for concern. But she would deal with the matter when she got the chance to do so.

"Go on in ma'am. You were expected," she explained evenly.

Yamaguchi nodded before she stepped through the entrance, the large hallway was protected by large numbers of Royal Guardsmen who were just about everywhere, she noticed two guardsmen coming over to her. "Ma'am, we've been asked to escort you to see the senate leader." the young man commented in a flat tone of voice.

"Very well, after you then," Yamaguchi answered as she followed both men through the large audience chamber and down a series of hallways and a turbolift to her final destination. The door at the end of the hallway parted at her approach as the two men stopped at the entrance. "Go on in ma'am. He's waiting for you."

Yamaguchi went in, the room was very tastefully appointed in lots of whites with splashes of red with a large Imperial emblem on the far wall, but what dominated the room was the large windows that overlooked the pacific ocean on all sides. The large holographic map of the galaxy which was set into the floor in the center of the room. It was not just a work of art, this thing was designed to signify itself as the centerpiece of the room itself.

"You know. I really must commend you." came a voice from the large chair which was placed near the window. The suddenness of the sound started Yamaguchi out of her reverie. The chair slowly turned to face her. "I allowed your transporter signal through but the rest were jammed and disintegrated upon arrival at their locations, you will have no shock troops to assist you, they are all dead..." Grand Admiral Lasky explained as he slowly stood up, he wore his Admirals uniform well as he regarded her with a cold and malicious smile. "Oh I knew about Insana's treachery... and the part you played in terminating his worthless existence. I really must thank you... But he had been ordered to give you whatever you wanted... Even if it was a night I bed... or a week of nights in bed. he was prepared to give you whatever you demanded to join his cause... I see now that I was lied to... But was it just him alone?... or was it him and you?" Lasky paused. "Oh don't worry about your medic, Ashley, she did not suffer as my shock troops ended her pathetic existence, your security officer fought well... she killed almost two dozen of my guards with grenades before they finally rooted her out," he added. "Oh I knew all about Caldwell's treachery against the empire.. and I know of yours as well."

Yamaguchi realized three things almost as soon as he said it, this was all a trap, for Lasky to flush out his enemies, including her and Caldwell, She was alone with no allies and she had no help, and what was worse was that April would not leave this room alive unless he came up with a plan to deal with Lasky now before this got out of control. "So... Why am I still alive?" she inquired of him.

"Because I wanted to give you one last offer to join me... Help me rule the Empire and we can make it strong again..." Lasky appealed to the primal side of her nature.

Yamaguchi knew she was going to die in the next few minutes, all of it would depend on Lasky and how he handled things. "You know that fear is never a good replacement for courage. The true strength of the Federation failed when Leyton surrendered to his baser instincts and overthrew the Federation in favor of an empire of fear."

"Maybe so," Lasky answered. "I remember the old Federation too... But the Empire is and the Federation is what was..." as he moved towards her. "I can see you will not join me... That's unfortunate..." as he went for her. Yamaguchi knew how dangerous that Lasky was, he was a martial arts master but his speed even amazed her as he grabbed her by the throat, her eyes went wide as she began clawing at his hands with her own, his grip was like iron as she felt her breath being cut off.

Lasky glared at her, 'You could have become my woman... You could have become something greater then you are now... but all you ever turned into... Was a glob fly on the road to my ascension... and now you must die..."

Yamaguchi smashed out with her right foot, impacting not his groin as he had expected but his right knee, shattering it and this dislodged his grip, she inhaled a lungful of fresh air into her depleted lungs, she exhaled as Lasky went for her, she saw his move coming and she moved off to the left before she smashed her forearm into his upper back while she hooked his leg with her own, down he went and she went for him.

Yamaguchi felt him squirm as she knew that now, she had to kill him or he would kill her, but he was simply too strong and he threw her off of him, however, this gave her the opening she had been wanting as she lashed out with her left foot, she kicked him in the chest but it was the second blow from her right foot that had ended to the contest as she kicked him in the face with the heel of her boot, the result had been the crushing of his nose as Lasky fell back to the deck, his face quite literally crushed in, shards of his nasal bones had been pushed into his brain, this had been what ended the fight and Lasky's life.

Yamaguchi dropped to her knees as she sucked in a large lungful of air, her greatest threat to her rise to power and her greatest enemy had both been defeated at the same time. "Guardsman!" Yamaguchi hauled herself to her feet as she screamed for assistance.

The doors opened as a half dozen guardsmen rushed in. "Secure the area... Grand Admiral Lasky is dead... I am the only one left.."

"All Hail Empress Yamaguchi!" the lead guardsman replied loudly.
