Mortal's Chiefest Enemy - Part Nine

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - Terran Imperial Headquarters - Earth, SOL
Timeline: 0830Hrs - October 4th, 2393

After receiving the 'go order' from Captain Yamaguchi. Shock Team Alpha beamed into the balcony as the starship captains take their seats below. Forty men and women sit and listen as newly elevated Rear-Admiral Lord Rodrigo Insana gives a speech on their support of Grand Admiral Tom Lasky's claim to the Terran Imperial Throne. Shock Team Alpha, lead by Lieutenant Commander Namura and Lieutenant Okoye, take up firing positions that offer advantageous fields of fire for maximum deadly effect. Their new phaser assault rifles are powerful and capable of engaging multiple targets at one time enabling this small team to rain down devastation and instant death from above.

Lieutenant Okoye smiles fiendishly as she peers around the smooth, steel pillar she's taken cover behind. The feel of the new phaser assault rifle in her hands electrifies her and the sight of the unaware enemies thrills her. She can't wait to unleash carnage upon these officers who are now considered traitors. Kelly Okoye is a beautiful, brown-eyed, killer who enjoys fighting and killing as much as she likes torturing enemies. Anywhere else in the galaxy, she would be considered a psychopath, but here, those traits are considered virtues. Lieutenant Commander Namura supervises her team from behind another pillar. The team follows her mute orders, given by hand signals, silently. Hisa Namura grips the handle of her ancestral samurai sword and awaits the signal from Captain Castro. She looks over from the balcony at her targets. She feels nothing, to her this is just another mission and the deaths of these people are necessary.

"I can't wait to get started!" Okoye says, barely concealing her excitement.

Commander Namura nods slightly in silence as she loosens her sword in its sheath. "We await the captain's signal..." she whispers back.

Kelly checks her rifle again and picks her first target..... "This is going to be so much fun!" She giggles as she settled in to wait for the go order to come down from the mission commander.

As Insana addresses the assembled starship captains who have recognized Lasky's claim. Captain Yamaguchi and her crew have recently returned from deep space assignment. The Potemkin's crew has returned to the Empire as heroes, but before they could be celebrated as such, the Emperor was killed and an attempted coup swept throughout the fleet. That coup was crushed and several 'pretenders' tried to take the vacant Imperial Throne but all were eliminated. Now Lasky and Insana have both laid claim to the throne and these captains have rallied to his banners and Yamaguchi has been invited to join. A hero like her recognizing Insana's or Lasky's claims would add prestige to his movement.

Insana proudly invited Captain Yamaguchi to address the other captains who begin to clap with acclaim for her. They are now recognizing the Potemkin's return and the heroism of her captain and crew. Insana had been ordered by Lasky to celebrate and decorate Yamaguchi in appreciation for her ship's exploits in the name of the Imperial Federation. Yamaguchi approached with a malevolent smile on her face, flanked by her chief medical officer, Dr. Ashley, and personal bodyguard, Lt. Gutierrez.

Yamaguchi's brown eyes narrow as they focus on the admiral. She strides forward, with her trademark swagger in her steps, fingering her dagger, followed by her escorts. As they get closer, a mischievous smile crosses the doctor's lovely lips and Gutierrez watched the assembled crowd for any threatening movement. Silence descended on the assembly as Yamaguchi reaches the admiral, the devil himself wouldn't expect anything. She grinned widely as she reached for his extended hand.

Commander Hisa Namura at the head of Shock Team Alpha swiftly moved out from the shadows, swinging her sword as she landed among the startled captains, slashing and cutting a number of them down before they could adequately defend themselves against her assault. Like a cobra, she strikes with lightning speed, dealing death with every swing of her sword. Ten are cut down in mere moments, Namura's dark eyes are as dispassionate as a Vulcan's as she whirls and thrusts her blade, moving her body with the light grace of a ballerina, as the blood of her victims turn her sword's blade a dark crimson, as the hall was suddenly filled with the sounds of the dead and dying.

Lieutenant Kelly Okoye leads Shock Team Bravo with the reckless elan reminiscent of the ancient Berserkers of Norse legend. Kelly wields the new Mark 3 Assault Phaser Rifle, laughing and firing like a madwoman as the team mows down the scrambling turncoats. She shoots wildly, her shots wrecking several captains, ripping their bodies apart, showering the floors and walls with their blood. Her crazed laughter echoes above the yells and shrieks of the dying as both teams pulverize the captains. The smell seared flesh and scorched blood fills the air of the meeting chamber and arouses Kelly almost at a sexual level. Her body tingles as she fires at the enemy.

As soon as the carnage and killing beings in earnest, it subsides. The screams of the dying die down, replaced by moans. The Shock Teams roam through the bodies and overturned chairs in search of wounded, killing any they find... The entire strike has taken three minutes and all of the targets are down, all but one and that one has been left for Captain Yamaguchi to deal with herself.

Captain Yamaguchi smiles with evil satisfaction as she feels the life drain from Insana's body, a look of astonishment locked on his dying face. A sharp pain runs throughout his back and chest, the sounds of the captains being slaughtered ringing in his ears... screams of agony as they perish by the phaser fire of Yamaguchi's hand-picked killers. As he struggles to take his final breath, the pressure of Yamaguchi's blow still felt in his back, blood fills his mouth as darkness shrouds his eyes... the last thing of life he experiences is a cold whisper in his ear. "Governor Caldwell sends his regards!" Yamaguchi speaks her whisper heavy with malice.

She twists her blade one last time, widening the hole in Insana's heart. She watches as he takes his last breath, the cries of slaughter and the laughter of their enemies echoing around them, and she whispers one last thing to him before he dies...

"Thus always to traitors!" She says as the last flicker of life flees from his body. Yamaguchi lets Insana's corpse fall to the floor as she contemptuously rips her dagger from it.

Around Captain Yamaguchi, the last of the other traitors are being dealt with. Gutierrez fires her phaser in the general direction of the victims hitting a Captain who had drawn his phaser, his dying scream added to the din of the dying.

Gabby fights to keep her eyes open as she fires, the last thing she needs is to be seen firing blindly. A few of the captains managed to draw their phasers and fire back, but in the confusion, they could not adequately spot their targets. They fire wildly in their panic as bodies fall around them, chairs are overturned in the bedlam, before they are hit by the precision fire of the Shock Teams.

Kelly Okoye's maniacal laughter can be heard above the shouts and screams of the targets. She shouts orders to her team as she fires her rifle, laughing and dealing death all the while. Dr. Ashley giggles as she covers the captain on the right flank, firing her phaser carefully, striking down several people who had been close to them. Ashley is a doctor, a healer, but she enjoys dealing death from time to time in battle. Commander Namura is silent as her sword takes a toll, slicing a few throats in the mêlée.

After a few minutes, it's all over. The floor of the conference hall is strewn with dead bodies, the scent of blood and scorched flesh filled the air. Yamaguchi's people are the only beings left on their feet as they walk among the fallen, checking for survivors and immediately dispatching any they find. Dr. Ashley holsters her phaser as she surveys the carnage. With a satisfied smile on her lips, she turns to the captain who stands over the bloodstained body of Insana, still grasping her dripping dagger. Yamaguchi nods approvingly as she looks over the scene. Her troops have done well and she is pleased. "Hell of a job, Captain! Your Shock Teams have outdone themselves! " Dr. Ashley exclaims, obviously very impressed with the job done.

Yamaguchi grins slightly, agreeing with the doctor as she finishes surveying everything.

"Yes, they did!" Castro says "I'm proud of every one of you! There will be something extra in your pay this week!" She shouts over to them.

The Shock Teams howl their approval as they continue to check out the dead. Namura and Okoye approach the captain and her escorts. The commander has sheathed her sword, she is splattered with the blood of her victims. Her face is blank and unemotional as always, while Lieutenant Okoye is smiling from ear to ear, happy with the carnage she's wrought.

"Phase two now, Captain?" Namura asks.

Yamaguchi nods. "Yes commander, proceed!"

Commander Namura taps her communicator badge and says the word "Go, red two."

Moments later both Shock Teams and their two officers vanish in transporter beams. Yamaguchi went with them, leaving Ashley alone as it was decided that she would inform Governor Caldwell of the clean up that would be required.
